  1. Almost done! Ran out of Velcro for the power supply, so that will have to wait for now. I was going to try to fit it underneath. I’m also now thinking of ways to make the power cables neater. Maybe cable ties. Still, not bad for bits I had lying around!
  2. Btw - never came across a design like this - way cool! Might have gone a different direction myself had I seen this one first!
  3. With three small kids, time to do self-indulgent DIY projects is somewhat limited, but I finally borrowed a sander and got to the shed to find some Ronseal! I forgot how fun making stuff is! Tomorrow it’s on to Velcro and rubber feet (for the pedal board, cheeky).
  4. I play a lot of weddings. I always seem to get fed, and enjoy the dancing totty moments away from a wardrobe malfunction. Love it!
  5. Two padded cajon bags - One10 & head in one, One10 and cables in the other. Sorted.
  6. Please say you’re attending the SW bass bash with it?!
  7. That’s bloody lovely! The details are fantastic- lovely birdseye (?) neck, the fact it goes all the way through from back to front even on the fretboard, just, lovely! What does it sound like?
  8. Ricky’s never caught my eye, but that one looks “right”. Nice.
  9. I’ve been thinking about this for a little while. Not sure if it exists, or (when I can afford it in 10yrs time!) it’s have to be a custom job... Fender Jaguar, oly white, single MM pickup, flamed maple neck (maybe birdseye fretboard), just edge dots, lollipop tuners, and maybe black or black pearl scratch plate. Yeah I don’t think that exists yet.

Ha! I have one exactly the same! Does yours have factory routing for active gubbins, too?
  11. I didn’t notice until you mentioned it - looks bonkers, but also strangely satisfying, like a nice plant. Do the all turn in different directions though?
  12. Sir, for your list: Pea Turgh - Squire JV P; Squire 90’s P with a narrow neck; Ampeg pf350; Barefaced One10 tweedy.
  13. That’s the side effect of these forums (or fora?) is the constant re-evaluation of your tools. Until I signed up to Basschat, I was quite happy with my bass and amp! Prior to that I spent far too much time thinking/planning/buying/selling recording gear! I have settled down a bit now, and i’m also very happy with my head & cabs, I should just exercise a little self discipline and just play the bloody thing more!
  14. I feel better now. Thank you!
  15. 800 Watts?! Spl of 128dB?! £350!?! Cant help thinking this might have been the better option than the Ampeg PF350 and two One10’s I recently bought (for significantly more dosh!)
  16. I think I’ll pop along to this, too, @scrumpymike - would love to see the Rascal build! PM me your details so I can put my money where my mouth is!
  17. Cool! How much did you pay for it?
  18. That’s one fantastic heel/neck transition there!
  19. You’ll have to tell us a little more about that cab!
  20. I don’t think you’ll like them, it says; “these powerhouses offer all the legendary “Pro’s Tone” without the heft.” No heft!
  21. My diminutive Barefaced One10 miniest stack with an Ampeg pf350 - love these things! And also my trusty JV that took me about 15 years in negotiations with the original owner (my mate’s dad) to purchase. I only want another bass out of greed - I should just stick to one.
  22. Hello. Ive been getting in to pedals over the last year or so. It started with a tremelo for my pianet, then an octaver for my bass, an analogue echo for general mixing and so on. Now I need somewhere to put them, so here’s the fruits of this evening’s labours... 1. Started off with a few planks taken from an old bed base. 2. Cut to size (ish - I’m too impatient to wait for the correct tools). 3. Remember to charge the effin’ screwdriver! 4. Glooo and scroooo 5 & 6. Not looking too bad! Next I’ll need to fill the duff holes, give it a sand, then apply whatever suitable finish I find in the shed. Then Velcro up and see if I can attach the power supply to the underside, and finally attach some rubber feet on the bottom. Whattaya fink?
  23. Ok, being honest, i’m GAS’ing for a bitsa P.
