1. *** Now £750 *** *** £730 *** When I bough this I was told it was a 1968, but I'm not sure how you accurately date these basses. Any advice is welcome. It has several marks to the body and a little rust to the tailpiece and screws. The clip that holds the scratch plate on is broken, so the scratch plate only just stays in place. There is a slight fault on the electronics - the sound is distorted if the bridge pickup volume is in full. Back the volume off just a tiny little bit and it sounds great. I would imagine this would be easier to fix, but my preference was to adjust the volume rather than mess round with the electrics. This places much better than most of the Hofners I have tried. I am based in Worcester and would prefer collection or meet-up. Thanks Steve
2.
Also, before you stick it in to the PA, buy an attenuator or it will be cliping all the way to a fuzzy mush. I have 2 x 20dB
Can you recommend any particular attenuator? Would one 40db be better than two 20's? Thanks Steve
3.
I got one through GuitarGuitar £449.
Can you clarify something for me? All the specifications on the web says this has a DI, but the amp only version doesn't, and I can't see a DI in any photographs?
4.
The CTM15 has a gain knob, but the CTM30, LB30, and Drophead 30 don't/didn't. Come on Ashdown - where's the giggable 30W valve head with gain control?
Yes, that's what I want - di, gain knob and small enough to fit on top of a Bergantino 12.
5.
As far as I know, they stopped doing the CTM30 in favour of the Drophead 30 and the LB30 both are essentially the same amp, however that doesn't help! I imagine it'll be similar to the LB30, if not then email Ashdown and they are ALWAYS helpful!
I thought the CTM 30 replaced the Little Bastard because some people didn't like the name. I'm easily confused though. The Ashdown web site has the Little Bastard, but not the CTM 30, so you could be right.
6. Does anyone know how wide these are? I've looked everywhere for this information. Thanks Steve

8. OK, the last Rickenbacker to be be sold on bass chat is sold. Thanks to everyone who showed an interest. Thanks Steve
9. This is a studio quality valve compressor that's also suitable for live use. It's a compressor, but it can also be used to just add a bit of warmth to an instrument, to boost the volume or even give a little distortion. The pictures below show the front and rear panels. It's a half-width, single height unit. I'm based in Worcester. Thanks Steve
10.
Steve, I guess this has probably gone by now, but what is the action like? Can't really tell from the photos and some have been know to be difficult to get very low. Cheers, Karl.
I'm quite happy with the action, but i'm fairly easy going, Here are some action shots. 11.
...Gumtree and cretins offering you £300 under what you have it listed for, like they did when I sold my 4003.
That happens here too, though I wouldn't call them cretins - just people offering what they think the bass is worth.
12. Some people have asked about trades. I'd be interested in a Yamaha BB2024mx in white. joking I am. I would be interested in a Yamaha Bb1200s, a fretless Rob Allen or a fretless Taylor. Thanks Steve
13. Massive price drop to £1,690. I expect this to sell really quickly now.
14. I use an Acoustic Image combo. One 5 inch speaker and one ten inch speaker, though you can't see the ten inch as it is down firing. People are shocked at the volume and sound quality from such a tiny box.
15. Does this have dots on the edge of the fingerboard?
16. Crafter acoustic. 99p http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/crafter-left-handed-acoustic-bass-/221267523583?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item33849277ff
17.
if anyone is interested , theres a wal pro 1 thats up on ebay at the moment , looks nice !
Doesn't look anything like as nice as yours.
18. Yeah, could bump more often, but not desperate to sell. In fact, I've never done a lot of bumping for any bass, but they all sell eventually.
19. Could someone buy this before the Rickenbacker ban kicks in? Thanks Steve
