1. I'm going to put this on ebay tomorrow evening. I'd be interested in offers/trades before then. By the way, sounds great with a Bergantino. Thanks Steve
  2. I have a Wizzy 10 vab that I'd like to trade for a Genz-Benz 10". I've used this for many gigs, but I need an 8 ohm cab now. In as new condition. I'll take a photo when the rain stops. Thanks Steve
  3. I appreciate there is a tiny market for this, but I have Wal pickup and electronics available. The electronics are integrated into the scratchplate. This would suit someone with a Pro 1 and wants some spares to safeguard future enjoyment, or someone who wants to build their own bass with a Wal tone. I've not taken any photos yet as it is dark and raining here, and I'm not sure anyone will buy this because of pretty photos. PM me. Steve

  5. Just wanted everyone to know that this is still available. PM me cash or trade offers. Thanks Steve
If I didn't already have an acoustic bass, I'd be interested; but I have; but thanks. Any other interesting trade offers? Wal Pro 1? Wal Pro 2? Summit preamp? Steve

  8.
How's this thing with feedback? Can you get good stage levels of volume? Also, it looks like you can split your signal and run the mic one place and the pup to another. Is that the case? Thanks,
You can get pretty good volume with the pickup, but the microphone is more difficult. If you're playing with a drummer forget about the mic. Yes, there is a separate output for the mic, so you could use a two channel amp to EQ the two sources independently...or if you have the right equipment, use different feedback supression for each source. Steve
  9. Just in case anybody here is thinking of bidding on this, I emailed the seller and asked him if it included the midi control module. It doesn't. As this is a proprietary midi system, you won't have access to the midi capability. It's unlikely that you'll find a midi controller anywhere. As mentioned above, the necks/frets are very different on these...I would advise going for a standard Wal. Steve
  10. Apologies for cross-posting again, but I have one of these for sale http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=48636

The manual has sample settings to emulate a fat tube sound, a bassman or an SVT. Includes original box and instructions. £95 plus £5 postage. Thanks Steve

  14. My Fender Bassman 135 amp is for sale. Two channels with two inputs per channel. Channel 1 is labelled "Bass Instrument" and Channel 2 is labelled "Normal", though you can use a bass just fine in both channels. Each channel has bass, middle and treble controls and there is a single master volume. You can use this t quickly switch between basses, use two instruments at the same time or use an A/B switcher and switch volume/tone mid song Channel 1 has a "Deep" switch that makes thing deeper. Channel 2 has a "Bright" switch to make things brighter. Four big valves - it's all valve. Two speaker outputs and a line out for recording / PA £395 Collection from Worcester. Come and try it. Thanks Steve

  17. I was looking through old copies of Bassist magazine and found this review from 1998. 19.
Hi Steve, Shame, it's only those two status 5's I'm thinking of trading. My EUB is a BSX Allegro (acoustic). Pic HERE. Andy
The Allegro is just what I'm looking for. Could you tell me where you got yours / where I might find one and, if possible, how much you paid. PM me if you prefer. Steve

This is a Rickenbacker 3000 that I sold to pay for a 4003. A very precision-like Rickenbacker. Steve
christ, bet that cost you a bit! I love that birdseye one never tried a wal before though, would love to one day.
You say that, but not so long ago you could easily get Wals for between £650 and £800...and yes, one of these belonged to Beedster for a short while. I wonder where it is now. Steve
  22. Hi Andy, I would be interested in trades, and I d like the Status Electro, but I am strictly a four string guy. What EUB do you have? Steve
Gorgeous bass. I keep on coming back to look at it. I can't really justify the cost though, particularly as I have a DB and an EUB already neither of which are being gigged yet. Don't suppose you're interested in trades ? (Check my sig). If not, best of luck with the sale. Andy
23. Chris, Assuming you like the look of it, I recommend you seek out a Pino Precision. It's by far the best bass I've ever owned. My Pino story is a little long but... In December 2007 I had to spend a week in Atlanta and managed to visit my brother in New York for a few days on the way there. I ordered a Rickenbacker my mail order for delivery to the Atlanta office so there was no way I was going to buy a bass in NY. Visited Guitar Center and saw the Pino. Still no way I was going to buy it - I think relics are stupid. I played it for an hour and bought - although I already had a '62 precision. It's been my main bass ever since, with Wals, Rickenbackers, Jazzes etc. getting little play. Seve
  24. I often see people on this forum selling basses because their wife/girlfriend impose a one in one out rule and others who would like to buy a bass but can't, again because of the wife/girlfriend. Well, my wife has stopped me selling this - she's always liked the look of it (she doesn't play), and when she found out it was made in August '89 (the month/year we got married) she put her foot down. I was going to use the funds raised to but a new EUB...which she insists I go ahead and buy. It's effectively her bass now. Apologies to those who came close to buying it (You should buy Beedster's Wal instead). Steve
  25.
I play in a jazz band with a drummer that you play with, Phil Guest, he calls this the batman bass. This is a really cool looking bass and I can't believe it hasn't sold yet, I was very tempted to buy it myself but ended up with an NS CR4M, anyway have a bump from me.
Phil is the coolest drummer. We are lucky to have him. ...and yes, this bass was previously owned by batman himself.
