1. Price Drop £1,690 I am offering for sale my Rickenbacker C64 bass. This is effectively a reissue of the bass Rickenbacker gave to McCartney in 1964. This one is of course right-handed, but these right-handed reissues have a left-handed headstock (to mimic McCartneys right-hand neck on a left handed body). This differs from standard 4001/4003 basses as it has dots on the neck instead of shark fin inlays and has no binding. I did some research to find a recent price for these but I was unable to, perhaps I need to sharpen my google skills. I've set the price at £1,720 as I have my eyes on another Rickenbacker that is this priced at £1,720. I only want to sell this if it allows me to buy the other Rickenbacker. If it's priced too high, it won't sell and I'll keep it. Includes Rickenbacker Silver case. Small chip on the top horn. Meet up / collection / delivery by me only. I am based in Worcester. Thanks for looking. Steve
 2. I have for sale my Genz Benz combo. It's in generally good condition but with some cosmetic scratches.

175 Watts but weighs only 18 pounds.
The amp head can easily be removed to use with a different cabinet, or just plug in an extension speaker.
Front panel:

Input with mute switch and volume control
Three band EQ with mid frequency and mid cut/boost
Three tone presets - low boost, mid-scoop, high-frequency attack.
Master volume and status lights
Rear:

Speaker outputs - one jack and one speakon
Aux in - allows you to plug in an ipod, drum machine etc.
Headphone socket
Effects send and return
Tuner out
XLR out - line/mic level switch, pre/post eq switchm ground lift
I am based in Worcester Thanks Steve
 3. I have for sale my Acoustic Image Focus amp (Series III). These amps have an excellent reputation for use with double bass, acoustic bass guitar, cello and other acoustic instruments. It's a very clean, pure sound - it's the sound of the instrument you plug in, only louder. I've also used this with electric bass, sometimes with a valve preamp or pedal. When Acoustic Image released the Series III amps, I believe this was the same as the Coda+ amp but with more power. With the series 4 amps, Acoustic Image consolidated the range and the Focus has been superseded by the Coda+ - i.e. the power of the Coda+ has been upgraded. Some key features make this a great choice for double bass players or those wanting to use two instruments:

Two channels, each with a dual input (XLR or jack) make it easy to switch between two instruments or to use a pickup and a microphone on a double bass.
Switchable phantom power on each channel.
Switchable notch/cut filter with variable frequency on each channel - helps eliminate feedback and boom.
Built in effects (Hall, Room, Plate, Delay, Chorus, Flange)
Three band EQ (Bass, Middle, Treble)
Effects send and return
XLR Out (Switchable Pre or Post EQ)
Ground Lift
1000 watts at 2ohms, 800 at 4ohms, 450 at 8 ohms
10x8x3.5 inches, weighs just 5lbs
Two speakon outputs
Switchable voltage
Acosutic Image carry bag
Generally good condition - i.e. clean sound, no noise - but some scratches to the case. £420 I am based in Worcester
 4. I've never been to a bass guitar show. Can you buy basses or are they just for show? What are the prices like compared to retail?

 7. I remember one of these on ebay a few years ago. A Rickresource member was selling it. 9. Real bass players don't use picks because they use a bow instead.
 10. I don't often put pictures up, but I'm really pleased that I've finally got a set up that can amplify my acoustic bass. <br> <br> Also works with normal basses and small speakers.
 11. Thanks for your comments. To answer a few questions... The bass weighs 7lb on my bathroom scales, though I don't know how accurate they are. Sounds about right though. The strings go through the body. There is a neck tilt adjustment facility. I've been asked about trades and would consider - Musicman Stingray A nice (whatever that means) fretless acoustic with lines Yamaha BB1200S (fat chance) Status Vintage (slim chance) I'm a bit fussy on colours preferring natural, sunburst or black bit will consider other things (green or blue is unlikely though). Four strings only. Thanks Steve
 12. Hollow body fender precision bass with f-hole.

Mahogany boy with spruce top.
Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard - the back of the neck has been stripped
Standard precision pickup
Piezo pickup
Acoustic style bridge
Volume, tone and balance controls
Cafe Walter Piezo buffer installed
Generally good condition, but some marks to the body. £730
 13. Sorry, pressed enter at the wrong time when creation the original post.
 14. This Fender bass is not one for collectors, but it plays great. The body has been poorly refinished at some point, though the wood grain shows through quite nicely. I believe the bridge is original but the bridge saddles are replacement brass. The nut is a replacement, again in brass. The wiring is not original. I intended to take the pickup and bridge cover off before photographing this as I need to keep them - I forgot to do this. I am happy for people to comment on the bass directly in the thread, and for comments o pricing to be sent by PM. I would like £925. Thanks Steve
 15. Thanks for the trade offers. I have tried four and five string basses, but I now know that I only really enjoy four strings. Clarky - thanks for your comments on the bass. Steve
 16. This is an Eminence five string upright bass with the David Gage Realist Pickup that comes as standard. This is very much like a double bass in terms of neck dimensions, sound and general feel but it has a downsized body that obviously makes it more portable than a full size double bass. It's not designed to be played unplugged, but it is loud enough of practice. The David Gage pickup is excellent. General opinion is this is the closest you'll get to the sound and feel of a double bass but with greater convenience and less feedback. The neck is removable, though I have never needed to remove the neck as I have never travelled further than a few miles with it. If you need to fly with a bus, or just use public transport, the neck can be quickly removed and the bass fits in to the golf hard case that is included. It is currently strung E to C, but it has been strung B to G without adjusting the nut. Includes soft case, hard case and stand. The Eminence web site is here: http://www.gelbass.c...ss/bass5RN.html I would like £1,690. I am based in Worcester.
