I've had most bass synth pedals and the only one I think comes anywhere near to what I'm after is the Akai Unit (SB-1 Deep Impact) The Korg (G5?) was ok though but a bit thin sounding.

I'll bet it was Picture 4, the Warranty, the dirty Bastard!

I've been using them for around 20 years now... from the early Garwood systems up to mu current Sennheiser G3 system. They take a bit of getting used too but the best advice I can give is make sure you buy decent driver units, get some pro ear moulds made and you should be sorted.

Indeed.... surely Rob wouldn't put it on his website if he was unhappy about it????

Check out my sig... hot sauce disco web page for some live recordings of my Status Graphite Kingbass 5 string 32" with bendwell..... I think it sounds tight and focussed. not tinny at all

The big difference in the States is how vast the country is compared to the small UK Island we are..... Guitar Centre alone now has over 200 Stores let alone it's vast online presence there.... Has a significant impact on how they can deal with Manufacturers compared to chain stores in the UK
Incredible how these have shot up in value. When you think that you can now buy a second-hand Roland V-Bass, a GK-3B pickup and a bass to screw it to for less ...
True but you can't get it to sound the same.... I've tried. There's another one on e-bay for sale at £750. I managed to snag myself two of these units before they started going for silly money..... I use them all the time though now I'm really paranoid about leaving my pedal board alone at gigs.....
Anyone know of any DVD / Video I can buy that has Leland Sklar on bass duties. He is one hard dude to track down for such a great talent.
Falling in Between Live - TOTO He's got some good coverage on that.... if you can put up with Bobby Kimball's Tash!
-
You can open the audio files no problem

There are plenty of companies that have done this sort of thing in the past..... When I was working for a well known Speaker manufacturer we tested the QSC K8 and K10 that is supposed to have an output amp of 1kw...... it hasn't it's more like 5-600 watts...... their marketing states all those speakers are 1000w

Depending on your budgets.... the Kam offerings are fairly decent these days. The Parbar sets offer good value for money. we have a variety of different lighting set-ups but one I will mention if you do those sorts of gigs where you need stage wash, Backlight or just feature lighting (mainly in country houses, estates or museums) have a look at these. They are wireless and IP rated so safe for outdoor use also. We have 6 units that we use for such events and are highly recommended.
Well if you need any of those things fairy nuff, but I don't - or do I ? I'm still finding new tricks in Cubase 1 and I don't have the time or desire to learn new stuff that I don't need and can't afford. I started recording many years ago on a TEAC 1/4" 4 track with a room full of boxes and I find Cubase 1 does so much more in a laptop than that whole room could manage. I do have Waves Diamond plug ins and Melodyne for extra fx, but I could happily live with the packaged Cubase plug ins if I had to. Cubase 1 is used for all my recording sessions over the past 5 years and it has never crashed or lost any data. I think there is a lot to be said for being familiar with whatever tool you use and to work within it's limitations, it's the music you record that matters and no new software will improve that. I'm still playing my '63 Fender Jazz bass and I consider Cubase 1 as a wonder of modern technology! Having said that, I'm not a professional audio engineer and I use the cheapest mics and gear that I can find. I would love someone to give me a copy of the latest version really. You can hear my latest album recorded in my front room on Cubase 1 here if you can be bothered.
Kool tracks.....
