2. I may be bidding on this also.....
3.
To be honest... Any Status bass looks cool.
Ain't that the truth....
4. Sorry Mr.T...... It's actually an all graphite Kingbass...... Worn at the correct height..... covering my massive gut!
5. Status - Perfection.................. I'm spent!
6. If your a DJ then go ahead....
7. you may experience that if you stand close to the monitors when playing your bass....
8. I will admit that I wouldn't usually play for less than £250 for myself per gig..... but I see where your coming from..... I think the Thursday night pub gig with good friends just to play for the sake of loving what your playing is very satisfying..... did this a couple of months back where me and a few friends got together and played a local pub so we could be completely self indulgent and play the music we wanted to such as Toto, Brand x, Van Halen, Spyro Gyra, Bros Johnson, Funkadelic, Level 42 (early stuff) etc..... At the end of the night..... we still got requests for Mustang Sally..... We left the stage shortly afterwards!
9. Thanks CK, much appreciated J
10. Hi Guys Need your help with the following Due to our Keys player and MD of the band having to undergo an unexpected operation on the 5th which means he couldn't do this gig, I need a dep for him. The gig is in Horsham in Sussex and is a wedding. You will need to be a competent player, do not have to be a reader as most of the set is fairly standard covers which I'm sure you would be familiar with. The gig will pay £250 for the night. You need your own transport and Keyboards.... obviously. PA and monitoring is supplied. We would need to meet with you prior to the gig and any pre-recorded material you have or CV would be appreciated. I'll go into more info for the right people. Please contact - Jay 'Nathan' Cresswell (me) 07973750072 - [email protected] Andy 'Fatboy' Lewis (MD) 07518943301 - [email protected] Cheers Jay
11. Heapster..... get this on Statii.com !!
12.
As ever it's how much you can spend. I would highly recommend the Sennheiser EW100 instrument set if you can splash out. JTB
+1
13. is your mobile sitting on top of or near the head?
14.
Yep, thats what we have for our 'standard' cover. 6 x £1m cover. The drawback is that this doesn't cover the 'event' or give you cover for anything whilst offstage, as mentioned in my first post, but its been good enough/cheap enough to see us through the past years. Make sure you add the band's name in to the 'trading as' field when applying for the cover - that way they are all linked together.
+1
15. What were they.... MKE-2's..... will be more expensive..... Give Ian a call at Mercury AV, he's doing ME-2 for about £52.00 remember thought that most lavalier/lapel mics are used on wireless systems so you will need to terminate them with an XLR or buy an appropriate cable/conector
16. To be honest not alot for £50 a piece.... there's plenty of cheap models around though.... Check out Mercury AV for some sennheiser ME-2 or 4's
17. Can I ask why it has to be enough cover for £5M......... I always get asked for our PLI cert for most of the venues we play for weddings and corporate but ours is up to £1m and that seems adequate for most venues. Jay
18. Cheap n' Nasty....... nuff said!
19. Most of the gigs we do are 350 people plus so we allow two hours...... that's enough for lights/pa/line check and sound check.
20. Ampeg.....
21.
SOOOO.....after buying the mounting kit from Sennheiser which didnt fit, I took your advice and invested in velcro. Guess what? fits a treat now. Is perfect. Thanks again for the advice. Another victory for the forum. Andy
I did say we didn't do a dedicated kit for it...... doh!
22. +1.... as a haalf decent bassist myself..... hehe.... you have to work at getting the tone you want.... It would be great if there was a manufacture out there that could produce a product with the tone from your head you want straight out of the box.... ;0)
