1. It's like Graphite wood.......
 2. Oh and here's one of my faves.... not overly complicated but shows what can be achieved with good riffing - Maceo Parker - Shake everything you got
 3. One thing I'd like to point out about playing funk/disco/rare groove type music is to be aware of the rhythm, leave space.... it's not all about constant playing... I think to many people try to overplay or cloud the groove with too many notes....
 4. There are no hard and fast rules.... That's what makes players unique....
 5.
I look forward to asking him a question.
This is gonna be Awesome.......
 6. Kool stuff.... Good to see The Whispers 'and the beat goes on' being performed.... play that in my funk band also.... and we were also toying with Georgy Porgy as well... strange huh...
 7.
Mark King put me off playing bass for years.
Yeah he's awesome huh.... just makes you wanna give up huh...
 8. Re-assuringly expensive.... ^_^
 9. Expect to see a street price of around £549.00
 10. Hi Guys Just a quick heads up as Sennehiser release the latest version of the Evolution Wireless.... G3!! Has some updated features (extended AF also) but most notably for us plank spankers is the inclusion of a built in Tuner!! Sennheiser EW100 G3 Cheers Jay
 11. Some of the 1u DBX units are quite good and not too expensive
 12.
Do you get the backache when playing at home? Could be lugging the rig into gigs before you play making you think it's the bass.
Absolutely.... and PA..... and Lighting.....
 13. Still here.... for sale..... £700 smackers..... bargain.....
 14.
Bugger, When I read "Jeff" I assumed it would be the other one, that can play. Lost interest now,
15. Is this still for sale?
 16.
I know exactly where you're coming from. I love my Markbass, but it's not like my old Eden rig. Unfortunately like you, backs and knees give up eventually. Whereabouts in Essex are you from? I was in Billericay before here and used to play loads in South Woodham.
Ah between the two.... Wickford.... Lived in Billericay for a while also
 17.
You don't need to own a bass to know if it's cool or not - that's what a sense of taste is for! I very much liked the S2 classic I had built and the old S1 I had, not to mention the Status necked frankenstein P bass I built. The only cool one out of those was the P though, and that had nothing to do with the neck.
18.
*glances over at wardrobe full of George clothes* *keeps gob shut*
19. I see nobody asked him why he buys his clothes from Wal-Mart........
 20.
Thanks for all the replies - think I need to play one soon... What feels different about the neck? Does it feel colder?
Not at all... IMO they feel soft to the touch.... very comfortable
 21.
I don't doubt they're great instruments, but I'm not sure they've been"fashionable" for many, many years! Mark King is hardly the epitome of cool!
I have to disagree with you BBC...... Mark King is the epitome of cool..... he even says so himself.... at about 0:18s Sunbed Song
 22.
Cheers, Jay!
I'm picking the glasses up next week.....
 23.
Vintage style instruments are indeed more popular and of course, more accessible. But I'm not really getting this 'fashion' thing people keep mentioning. Have a look at my avatar. I'm a musician. Not some kind of fashion icon, LOL!
Oh I think you are.....
 24.
Their big name endorser is Mark King. When was he last in the hit parade? Level 42 do the nostalgia circuit, so maybe the association isn't all it could be to Status?
That really does apply to any brand though....
