Get plenty of music onto your LAPTOP, Reading material on your LAPTOP. A camera or video hooked into your LAPTOP. Make sure you book into hotels with room internet access for you LAPTOP, So you can check out the local sites or the local Reaper Bahn [ but dont take your LAPTOP there] Then if some dodgy agent dont pay you when you are in Kazacstan, You can then sell your LAPTOP to get home. A big must...sort out a decent cheap rate phone company... It will save you ££££'s I use this all the time when overseas. http://www.jajah.com/ Garry
As Mentioned above..... make sure you have a decent Laptop..... It WILL keep you sane..... Other than that.... Mogodon and Rohypnol!
 2. I just bought a box for my Digitech Jamman.... and although the build is fine.... there was no indication of what switch does what.... and the cable that I paid £3.00 for was crap..... same sorta cable you can buy from QD/Maplin for about £1.00 I thought that for the money paid it was average.
 3. Got a tangle wood curbow 5 if your interested in a trade
 4. The Tuner feature is an easy addition to a wireless system...... when looking at instrument systems it made sense rather than adding anything else... as for the price.... you get what you pay for at the end of the day......
 5.
Somebody buy this
Please......
 6. Don't know about other manufacturers but you can specify a satin finish from Status on their Graphite necks
 7. Clip on's are ok for close mic technique..... for the 3 mic method see the guy's comment's above. My own choice when recording drums (love Mono recording by the way) one kick drum mic (various) and 2 x U87 overheads (if your budget allows or you can hire/borrow these) which give great open sounding results. 8. Oooo Chocolate.....Mmmmmmmm are those cabs heavy??
 9.
Thank you all for your help I suppose if I'm looking to spend such money on a bass I could give GB a try......before I moved to Brighton I fell in love with how sexy they are ........But I already own a Kingbass artist and IMO it's the best bass I've ever heard/played(especially!) and I actually really think it's a pretty bass. A 5 string black beauty with black hardware and white leds.............. Oh dear I've gone faint
funny you should say that....... I'm just contemplating the same but with red LED's to match my 4 string BB.....
 10.
I still prefer the look of the digital units that are starting to peek through rather than the UHF ones. And this is pretty expensive, even if it does have a tuner.
The reason Sennheiser have not gone digital as of yet is that Analogue way outperforms Digital in the Audio department still. Listen to a decent analogue system versus Digital and there is no competition. We will go digital eventually but only when we are happy with the Audio results...
 11. Don't do weddings/corporate for less than £1500..... I mean it...... Don't use agents as they are sh*te.... and never get you work that you want at the money you want.... Do pubs if you want to have a bit of a laugh and not too much pressure but don't expect to earn anything from it... there will be more but I'm just off to a corporate gig....
 12. anyone wanna buy some UHF handhelds...... brand new..... never used? anyone..... Trades?
 13. gonna bump this again...... there will be a donation to bass chat also when this sells.... honest guv!
 14. A rare board indeed.... I've never seen one of those...

 16.
Too smooth! Also if you're coming to funk from rock there is a wealth of fantasic late '60s/early '70s rock that straddles the funk/rock gap. Some deeply funk laden moments in Led Zeppelin and this particular favourite of mine from Black Sabbath - so dirty, so greasy and so dark: The shift from this to The Meters is not as far as you'd think - both the drummers and bass players have remarkably similar feels. And in more recent times RATM and even Korn have funked out, though from more of a hip hop perspective. Alex
Indeed..... The Ocean by Zep is funktabulous
 17.
I quite like my Beyer DT100s. I got them at a reasonable price. I rarely have to mix on headphones but they're perfectly fine for tracking stuff.
REally..... you should try the DT 150's they are a world apart.....
 18.
The new project I'm about to join are using in ear monitors. I guess they're wireless, We use a Peavey PA, how would these monitors typically connect to the PA? Thanks
You wouldn't connect them to the pa...... the desk feeds the transmitter (Aux or group send) and then the signal goes to your receiver (belt/Bodypack) then into your in ear phones
 19.
I still say if you are not heavily into funk you will never be a good funk player,i also think a lot of people get confused between funk,jazz/funk,soul,rare groove etc. I personally have never been a massive fan of funkadelic and prefer more soulful funk than this.
+1

 21. Hi Mate your best bet is to check some of the consumer sites as these will predominantly be cheaper..... Beware of fake goods though..... if they seem too good to be true... they normally are....
 22.
If Jeff Berlin does appear on here, I hope it won't be a repeat of the last incident where a professional came on here.
