1. Hi kids, So basically I'm moving to Denmark in a months time, and as well as getting married next week I need a little cash injection and less weight to travel to another country with, so here goes: The only p bass I’ve ever loved - 2005 American Deluxe Precision, all original hardware. 18v fender pre amp, maple neck and fret board, this bass is crazy powerful and loud! Plays really well and sounds even better, I’m moving soon and so am taking my 5 string rather than this bass. There a few dings on the bass, I’ve highlighted the worse looking ones in photos. One of the pots is a little crackly (the mids pot) so I've reduced the price to £600, it's a cheap repair but one I don't have time for! £600 collected from Worthing (West Sussex). No case I’m afraid so you’ll have to bring your own, which also means I won't be posting the bass and I don't have time currently to sort such things (sorry far away friends). Any questions please feel free to ask
2. I've had them going for a good while now, and have put words in a pattern on a page that looks like this. TL;DR - I find the new breed have better clarity, and feel much more natural on touch then they have before. Still continue to be my strings to go to, so much so that without them I may as well be playing a different bass.
3. Monday price drop bump - £420 for the lady please! Trades still interested in an active 5 string, or a modern player jazz (5 string) with some dollar
4. Friday night bump! Need at least £100 back from this, so the rest can be filled with a 5 string bass, guitar......try me!
5.
+1 for this guy. Excellent to deal with and a thoroughly nice guy.
Thanks Josh!
6. A proper German Warwick with mods: - 1998 German-made Warwick Fortress One - 2 piece maple body - 3 piece laminated Wenge neck - Wizard traditional PJ pickups. Excellent pickup balance with this set. - Standard MEC 2 band active preamp plus an East parametric mids module - inset Dunlop straplocks (will come with the strap connections too) - custom rosewood thumbrest - 38mm nut width - wearing a set of brand new .45 Elixirs Used to be a green colour but was sanded, oiled and waxed by the previous owner. Looks fantastic, however has some green remnants in places, mainly around the pickups. Also the nut is broken (sort of) - the initial part where the strings sit comes off when the strings are off the bass - with strings on, it isn't a problem, but is worth mentioning. £425 collected, no courier at the moment as I only have one gig bag and need it (sorry). I'm based in Worthing but will happily meet in Brighton, we can sit and have a hot beverage if you like. Trade wise looking for a cheaper 5 string with cash please, prefer active basses but send me what you got! Fantastic and well loved bass, however I am desperate for a good guitar amp and I already have other lovely basses in the house. Any questions feel free to fire away!
7. Chrome pickup and bridge cover, fits a p bass. Don't have the screws I'm afraid, however they're the standard.....er........screw things. You know? Yeah them? Them. Will upload pics soon, iPad isn't playing ball with basschat. £25 collected or £30 posted (recorded), located in Goring by Sea (Worthing).
8. Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah pedal, has separate inputs for guitar and bass. Fully boxed as new, box has a little wear but the pedal has never left the house and is perfect, instructions included. £70 collected or £75 posted (recorded), located in Goring by Sea (Worthing).
9. iRig Pro - a mini pocket sized interface for midi, mics and guitars (jack input). Has phantom power for condenser mics etc. Has changeable cables for iPad/iPhone and laptop (USB). Works great, find myself not using it much anymore however. Fully boxed red and has everything! £70 collected or £75 posted - sent recorded and such, located in Goring by Sea (Worthing).
10.
The best feedback will win a year's supply of strings (3 sets)
And that sums up exactly why I use Elixir's - hell even 2 sets generally last the year. Have you tried Elixir strings before? Absolutely - my main bass is currently wearing them. I've used them for years, however financially I find it hard to justify putting a pair on my basses - even though they'd all be played so much more if I did. If they send a 4 string pair, then putting them on the Warwick would give me a good comparison of how the strings have been improved - and if that actually relates in a positive manner. What other brands are you familiar with? Ernie Balls are my back up brand, and I've used D'Addarios from time to time. What bass(es) will you try the new strings on? I've currently got a light hybrid set on my '98 Warwick Fortress One, so I'd be more interested to see how they affect my feelings towards the lower end spectrum of my basses - especially that 5 string Cort Curbow. I've never had the chance to test them on a 5 String, mainly because I swear they didn't exist before. What sort of environment will you be playing them in (e.g studio, gigging, practicing) I'm a college lecturer and a private tutor, so it'll be used in a variety of teacher manners (a couple of my college kids adore the strings, but won't pay the price of the strings new). This will be plugged and unplugged, as not all of my students have multiple amps - Elixirs have always tended to fair better in this environment due to their 'twanginess'. I do a lot of home recording for film/video game composition too, so how the strings would sound there would be a test. Why do you think you'll be a good candidate to test the strings? I use my bass everyday for my personal pleasure and also for different aspects of teaching - so for me the string choice has to be perfect, as otherwise it could easily affect my professional life, and as I'm using the bass all the time I'm interested in strings the last much longer than the standard, changing strings is a time consuming element that I don't always have time for. Secondly, I've written for blog sites/websites before, as my writing/review style is engaging but not condescending - after all I'm writing a review to tell people how great/not so the product is, not an essay on how my dog is better than your dog (no essay needed - MY DOG WINS THE END) Links to any blogs/reviews you may have already posted (not essential but interesting) OHNOBETA - a website I set up to discuss technology/gaming that also incorporated reviews. I no longer have time to do it sadly, it just floats on the internet's surface. STTeachingUK - not sure of the relevance, but this is my teaching website that relates back to my Facebook page which all my students have access to. I could easily post the review on the website to spread love and harmony for [s]Spiderman[/s] nano web strings.
11. Bump! I'll probably take £90 posted for you kids, but only if you ask nicely/your first Pokemon was Squirtle/your spirit animal is Milhouse
12. I never realised they stopped making them! I remember when I bought it that it was the best option around, and still seems to be.
