Weddings
Being a wedding thread, just wondered if any other Basschat members played at one of the weddings for Living TVs Four Weddings program, first aired last night. Goes on for a few weeks so a lot of bands maybe, hopefully not too many discos. We were on the first wedding last night, Mel Boorman I think being the bride. Not enough footage of the band although a nice split second close up shot of my Shuker 5.
No but my band has been featured several times on that (put's tongue in cheek) well known tv channel 'Wedding TV'....... Oh the dizzy heights of playing in a wedding band......
  3.
Good point... Well, this is certainly up there with the best.. but for the life of me, I can't see why as this is such a bargain!
guess people are skint....

  11.
Only in America! Actually, this seem like another argument for boom stands, as the angled boom would cause the force of falling onto it to be displaced, hence reducing the chance of serious injury.
Absolutely..... who uses a non boom boom stand anyway..... they're just for singers and harp players......
  12.
According to another thread... When your hair falls out, and your facial hair grows at an alarming rate.
spot on!
  13.
Went well all in all. There are recordings from last nights effort on my singers blog. Have a listen. Can you hear how drunk our female backing singer is, especially on No Surrender. Bass sounds good though
the most drunk at a gig I was sick down the back of a Trace stack........ ruined that bright box..... would get good money for that on e-bay now too....
  14.
If the dealer is only 5 mins away, maybe it'd be worth going to have a look before you dismiss them. I brought a Zoot 112 a while ago on BassBunny's recommendation and the review in BGM. Gotta say, best purchase of recent times as I've been as pleased as punch with it. In my case, I wanted a small light punchy crisp cab for smaller gigs where taking the much larger and heavier EBS gear was impractical. Phoned Zoot up, spoke to Mike at length and he built me a 4 Ohm 112 which was with me in days. Needed the 4 Ohm version as, with my EBS head running at 2 Ohms, wanted to push a larger amount of power into the single cab but still have the ability to buy another at a later date for a mini-stack thing. At present, the plans for the second really haven't been a problem as the single cab sounds great as it is. Big punchy sound, rich and articulated tone and incredibly well made. Being neo, dead light too. Guess what I'm saying is that for everyone who tells you stuff is sh*t, there's always someone else who loves it so maybe go and have a listen and make your mind up yourself. HTH T
you wanna see Mike's latest venture...... Purple Chilli cabs...... looking good so far....
  15.
We do a snatch of the VF version in the middle of Robin Trower's 'Little Bit Of Sympathy'. Sounds an odd idea but it works.
Oooooooo sounds interesting........
  16. I'm not sure I'm with you on this...... why are you sourcing your own hardware if you having the bass built with a Luthier?
  17.
Do you mean.....you actually do it for the........money?!!???? BB
lol...... absolutely.....
  18.
1 Why dont one of you take up the Bass? 2. Are their any particular reasons for staying a two-piece Nothing against backing tracks but you could be two thirds of the way to a full live band. BB
Less people to split the wonga with....... gets my vote!
  19. Unlucky mate..... I know how much you wanted it by reading this thread through......
