  1. 12mm would seem better for weight and cost , just wondering if it's sturdy enough. I've had a look at edge extrusions / alloy angle plate and they're expensive for what they are.
  2. Ah, okay. Yes saw that too, but he's changed the pickups to EMG's. It would seem he's modified the switching as well. There's no 3 way switches on mine
  3. Yeah i saw that. It's been modified. None of the switches on mine are 3 way Was it a really sparkly finish on the reverb one ? There's a YT vid of him explaining what he did.
  4. That's probably a damn good guess V, but it would be handy to know for sure. As of right now, if all switches are up, there's no output If the rearmost switch is down, the others dont switch on or off pickups, they just change tone slightly. Dont hear a lot of change when using the push pull
  5. Thanks Paul, i now see the problem. Your TE head is not as wide. It looks more like a separate head, rather than a combo head Check the photo of mine. I thought most combo TE heads had the wide slotted ears each end , which i guess are for venting as they're not used as mounts.
  6. I've had a right struggle finding any info on my axe, an Aria Pro II GT series GT-3. I've had a look on some archive sites but the catalogue for this series seems to be missing. It maybe a Korean build rather than Japanese, i dont know. No idea of the year. The switching options are confusing. All 3 are 2 way. Knob nearest the neck is Vol, knob towards the rear of the body appears to be a tone, but it's also a push pull.
  7. Thanks Lf I wont be cutting anything on the cab itself. It's vintage and want to keep it as is, so the head can be put back when required. Any MDF or Plywood sleeve would be built so that the head can be unscrewed and removed anytime. I can use the 4 top mount holes as in the original mount. It will sit on a Barefaced 4x10 which is exactly the same width as the TE combo. About 2ft IIRC - very convenient. the 4x10 BF is also the same size front to back so no overhang there either. I would just be sanding the sleeve and coating with Poly varnish. If i covered it in Vinyl or carpet, it would be a struggle to get it back in the combo anytime
  8. Was that custom made ? TE Combo heads, at least mine anyways, is 22 1/4 " wide, so not yer standard 19" rack mount
  9. Yup, i was thinking right angles, and agree with your assessment of screw and glue being weak due to surface area. I would use some batten on the 4 right angle joints. Maybe that would be enough reinforcement. ? I'm looking at 18mm hardwood ply right now. I'm not good enough on a router to make accurate DT joints. Your alloy extrusions sound intersting There's no front or back to worry about
  10. Has anyone removed a TE combo head and stuck it in a case? It needs building from scratch i would imagine as the TE combo heads are wider than their solo head counterparts. If you built a case, can you show how it was done ? Chars
  11. The easiset way is to count with ' and ' in the timing. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and <-- Ist guitar chord is here... 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and. <--- 2nd chord. So then you have the same timing for next chords on the ' ands' till the song kicks in
  12. And here we are at the top of the Nelson's Column. Get down Shep.
  13. We do this song and dont have any problems with the original studio version intro. It's not a complicated song. The trickiest bits are getting our rhythm git to remember on the 2nd verse there's an added D between the E and C when the vocals are going BaaaaaaaaaaaaayBeeeeeeeeeeeee. And that D slips in again between the E and C in the solo. And then there's that one odd A minor in the first verse after the solo, where the C is skipped , and so it goes from D to A minor instead of D to C.
  14. No one else has to like it but you. Carry on
  15. Absolutely top. JS has remained the wonderful human being he has always been, and that voice just stays as good as ever
  16. They also did the Big Block but the pickup was nothing like a P pickup https://bighouseguitars.com/products/2006-fender-mim-p-bass-big-block-inlays-black
  17. Chienmortbb member here does custom cables. Cand heat cables He bought up OBBM Dave's stock when he retired
  18. This might help once you have the amp out https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1084717/Trace-Elliot-Gp12-Smx-Series.html?page=21#manual
  19. As has been posted, there should be 4 plastic caps on each corner when looking down on the top of the combo There's 4 Philips screws under the caps. Just take these out, dont forget to unplug the speaker jack at the rear, then slide the amp out.
  20. Yes, now i have the fabtastic Lekato strap, but cash my way too , natch
