  1. Not a short scale player personally, but I am pleased to see a reissue of this icon. Not sure I’ve ever seen an original outside of books and photos and whilst the Rivoli was every where in the 60’s I don’t think many of these crossed the pond.
  2. And that from the man who made a video saying why 5 strings suck!
  3. Some endorses aren’t players. As far as I know Les Paul never played bass, but he designed a cracker, his innovation was the low impedance pickup. It wasn’t overly popular in 1972, but nowadays its offspring is well regarded. I give you the Gibson Les Paul Signature Bass .
  4. Up, up and away - 5th. Dimension.
  5. Well I don’t suppose that’s a cheaply to plonk around on whilst you’re across the pond. I’ll bet you will want to bring it back home - import duty payable?
  6. Donnyboy’s was certainly awful. If buyers keep turning these there will a sudden burst of heavily discounted B grade basses coming on the market.
  7. Nice legs shame about her face - The Monks. (Not very PC this one, my apologies)
  8. The girl of my best friend - Elvis
  9. I have it in my right so doesn’t seem to affect me too much. However a while ago it was very painful and I couldn’t grip properly. My GP arranged a steroid injection which ws initially even more painful and then like magic no more pain. It was good for several years. I haven’t asked for another, it’s manageable and I have heard Doctors aren’t giving them any more but I think it’s worth asking.
  10. It’s amazing he has lived this long. A great musician but he did rather dabble too much in the drug culture of the 60’s & 70’s. Byrds and CS&N were 2 pioneering bands.
  11. I suggest you look at a few more of her YouTube videos. She is a really excellent bass player and it is her band so she can play what she likes, and does.
  12. Friday in my mind - The Easybeats
  13. Resurrection Shuffle - Aston Gardener and Dyke. (Why do they sound like a firm of solicitors?)
  14. Or……. Sell them both and buy something new which will become your next “can’t put down”. 🤔🤣
  15. If it’s a new instrument then the va due for insurance purposes is the purchase price. If something happens to it at present you will want a new one as replacement. A few years down the line y ou may need to think about second hand values but now.
  16. Forgetmenots - Hot Club of Cowtown
  17. My last acquisition was in 2022; but was only a trade, one out for one in. So this year I can’t think of anything I either want or need - unless…….
  18. Snaking all over - Johnny Kidd & the Pirates
  19. My son in law stupidly bought an Aston Martin, which thankfully he has now sold. I was ever so underwhelmed by it, so what costs a fortune and plays much the same as any other bass? The Wal Scott Devine recently payed £20k for that was used on Band Aid’s record.
  20. Slip slidin’ away - Paul Simon ( & the other geezer)
  21. Re: Red silks, used by Olympia (if that helps).
  22. Handsome
  23. Sounds terrible and will finish off many speakers.👎
  24. Oh so it is. Thanks Clarky I don’t think I’ve ever noticed the reverse on any and I’ve been looking at ‘em a long time. 🤣
