  1. I had a musicmaster of that vintage The machine heads are very very basic The jazz is lovely
  2. They will still leave a mark unless filled very very well
  3. I offered him £8250 which he accepted and I asked him to do a BIN at that price but he never got back to me

  5. Can you name the parts in the spec list that are higher spec than fenders?
  6. So why not just buy a fender mim classic 50’s series or fender road worn mim 50’s p bass? Why re invent the wheel? Either could be had for £700 or less?
  7. So what’s the fuss about? And why is it better than the MIM burgundy mist 60’s jazz with matching headstock? The BC is not true to the original 64 jb as it has the truss rod in the wrong position So apart from EMGs versus Fender what’s the advantage?
  8. Now that I am retired I can see that there must be quite a lot of fellow musicians in the same situation so I intend to form or join a band made up of these retired souls with a view to rehearsing in the day, when others cannot preferably at someone’s house so no studio fees doesnt sound very radical but I don’t think many people do this
  9. People take time to wake up to things i look in amazement as mustangs sell quickly yet these basses languish unsold despite being a fraction of the price of mustangs and yet having the obvious advantage over mustangs of being available with a long 34” neck to recap bullets have same pups as mustangs are light weight and can be had in long 34” scale form what’s not to like?
  10. Sold my fender Tony franklin bass to Mike Very easy transaction and nice bloke to deal with Highly recommended
  11. I’ve had both and the 4 is a completely different animal to the 5 I love the 5 but did not like the 4
  12. The epi eb3 is a no brainer really it looks great got a 34” neck two pups and it’s SO cheap to buy
  13. “Also I though this era should have the truss infill plug on the headstock!” I think the neck looks ok
  14. Ped as ever a man of supreme patience, helpfullness and wisdom. Well done Sir!
  15. Fender MIJ Classic 60? Is there such a thing? I thought all classic series basses were MIM?
  16. Yes great sounding basses. The main ways they differ from the earlier fullerton ones is they tend to have more curvy contours, the contoured body transfer is below the G tuner and they tend to be a bit lighter.
  17. Clarky What does that 400watt all valve 8x10 stack sound like when fully pumped up?
