  1. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  2. This could be fun, but the selling price won't be, for sure...
  3. Unfortunately, the price can't be modified in the title of first post, the rest yes, but not the price. Belle basse, cela dit. Bonne vente ou échange.
  4. Then simply find the other end and solder it back to eyelet. Removing one or a few more turns will absolutely not change the sound. A picture could help.
  5. Yes, he is right, but only one is in Europe (Spain) and is sold by a store. But the regular price for a new one elsewhere is £3500 GBP.
  6. They are indeed : there must be a reason for owning 4 of them at the moment and having owned over 20 over the 3 last decades.
  7. East is good choice, especially the SPM02 which to me is his best preamp, but out of stock for the moment. And don't forget the Aguilar OBP-3 which can bring life to the Noiseless pickups. Delano, Noll and Richter should be considered too, but you'll need a soldering iron just like for any Aguilar... Forget the Pope Flexcore with these pickups as it's the most transparent preamp to date. Same for the Glockenklang. Here is a J-Retro 01 at a good price as it's new :
  8. Put on the red light, it's not the right model !
  9. Funny as I also use Allen wrenches for the strings height : it's so much easier than trying to read a ruler with (our) old eyes.
  10. Are you sure that this is the correct diagnostic because if the lead is cut or broken, the sound will have gone too ?
  11. And always retune the whole bass in playing position after each (slight) adjustment.
  12. I've watched these 4 videos. Interesting indeed, but John Carruthers forgot to mention that the very first point is to perfectly tune your bass with a strobe tuner like the TC Electronic or the Peterson. Then the steps 2 and 4 must be reversed. Why ? Because if you do the action and the nut height before the intonation, when moving your saddles to the right position and filing down or raising the nut will modify the action itself... My little trick is to begin to set the action by the higher pitched string to your taste and put all strings of your instruments at the same height, then raise each next lower string a quarter turn higher than the previous one, so if you have a 6 strings bass, the G will be 1/4 turn higher than the C string, the D being 1/2 turn higher than the C, the A being 3/4 turn higher than the C, the E being 1 full turn higher than the C and the B being 1 and 1/4 turn higher than the C. This way, you'll have a perfect stings radius following your neck radius with just the right amount of height for each string.
  13. Fodera (sorry to mention them once again) did these setup and maintenance videos. They are very well made and the explanations are clear. And you don't need to own a Fodera to watch them. http://www.fodera.com/how-to-set-up-your-fodera/
  14. Add the fact that sometimes the Italian blood still running in my veins can take over, and you get the explosive image of a person like me. Add also the fact that I was born and raised in a region called "La Gaume" where the saying "Quand dje'n sa rin dje'm ta" meaning "When I know nothing, I remain silent" is applied all of the time being a way of living, and you'll get some explanations about my character. Furthermore add the fact that being fluent in English, German, French and Italian does not help here, because what I wrote is what I intended to say. My apologies to @Grangur if I hurt him. I'm guilty for being myself, but this is me and I'm not going to change a thing about it as it would be like lying to myself (sorry for being redundant) and it would be boring for you (and me, of course). Case closed ?
  15. Kiss you all, even if I'm not lost in translation, but I know I'm a bit harsh when saying things. That said, concerning the possible breaking on the post with too long strings, it depends on the strings. The Thomastik JR are absolutely not sensible to this problem, but the Fodera are especially the B string...
  16. A great seller and a top quality bass : https://www.bassic.de/kleinanzeigen/verkaufe-yamaha-trb-jp2.13858/
  17. I know the seller, the guy is highly trustable and he takes great of his gear. The price tag is also quite low and you'll have to wait at least 2 years to get a new one : https://www.bassic.de/kleinanzeigen/leduc-masterpiece-fretless.13859/
  18. As you already own a Wal, you won't be disappointed. It is the one made for ACG indeed. I sold mine last year because I had no need for such a preamp. You can do the Wal thing with this and a lot more. There is (was ?) one for sale here : I think, you'll get it cheaper by ACG : http://www.acguitars.co.uk/acg-eq01-filter-pre-amp/
  19. What's the point of your message ? Could you please explain, because I really don't understand ? Someone is asking for help. I had to search for these medium scale strings too, so I just add the fact that Fodera is making some too and giving a link where to buy them. I'm not affiliated to Fodera at all and find their instruments retail prices awfully way too expensive and absolutely not justified, as I'm not affiliated to Thomann preferring Music Store in general. But their strings are well made, sound very good and are at a decent price compared to other makers as they are sold at £29.83 GBP (who cares if it's "label engineering" made in China or anywhere else as long as they are suiting what they are bought for). I've tried them so I'm not speaking in the absolute emptiness. By the way, the computer, laptop, phone or whatever you use to type is totally made in China, like 80% of the consumers products we all use. So tell me where really is the point of such a message like yours ?
  20. Fodera is also making medium scale strings : https://www.thomann.de/gb/fodera_5_string_set_medium_heavy_b_ss.htm
  21. You can purchase it here : https://www.banzaimusic.com/Schaller-E-Bass-bridge-2000-5-string-Black.html
  22. Got this in a recent trade, 14 mm strings spacing at bridge, 8 mm strings spacing at nut, 6 strings and 32 3/9 inches scale ! Status Electro 6, just like the one Jonas Hellborg used to play.
