  1. I've checked the specs, your bass is supposed to be passive with single coil pickups, so the only series possibility is to put both pickups in series, which is absolutely useless. If you still want to do it, then the push-pull should be a logarithmic 250 KOhms.
  2. It's a general guide for any passive pickup.
  3. He is not that bad. At least he is trying to improve his playing with ... Carol Kaye, a real pick master.
  4. And before this, my former bass too, and my description too. GLWYS for this stunning bass.
  5. One of my former bass, as well as my description, but you cleared the fact that the fretboard has been dressed by THE French luthier Christophe LEDUC who also did the setup. The weight is 4,9 kilos. Could you please correctly screw back the truss rod cover ? It really hurts my eyes. And yes, it's Bassline official logo, a German luthier. GLWYS for this terrific sounding fretless bass.
  6. I've done both types of shielding (aluminum or copper) and there is no difference, except that copper is easier to put in place as aluminum has the bad habit to wrinkle very easily. Don't forget to solder an earth point on your shielding and, if you shield the pickup(s) cavity(ies), to earth them at the same point, which is something almost everybody forgets.
  7. One of the best small amp ever. I had one and now that I'm old and wise (hum, hum), I have a BassCube. GLWYS.
  8. A really good bass at a fair price : https://www.bassic.de/kleinanzeigen/peavey-dyna-bass.14039/
  9. My new one, a De Gier Origin Deluxe Fretless 6 originally made for Matze Bangert in 2009, another great player from Sander :
  10. In fact, it's the opposite, Auslander has a 5 strings version of the Anthony Jackson Presentation II model, which is by definition a 6 strings contrabass (sic) guitar. That said, @Auslander we are still waiting for some extra pictures.
  11. Take a look here where you will find the schematic and some explanations about the preamp : https://richsstudioproject.wordpress.com/2015/08/19/hohner-b2a-active-electronics-repair/
  12. The ones fitted on your bass are the first passive generation EMG's, only the preamp is active, otherwise the passive switching wouldn't work. The real EMG's are active pickups only working with a battery so passive switching is here impossible. Some years ago, EMG put the HZ (high impedance) series on the market, which is a recreation of your passive ones. Loop the loop. Clearer now ?
  13. Devo did it as this bass is a recreation homage. You should have watched my video link. Eastwood link : https://eastwoodguitars.com/products/devo-be-stiff-base No Treble link : http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2016/05/07/eastwood-guitars-recreates-devo-be-stiff-bass-guitar/ Are you all that young ?
  14. Put some new foam under the pickups and you can raise the real EMG's as close as 1 mm under the strings, but do this when fretting the string at the last fret on B and G strings for both pickups checking each side after moving the other end. Your EMG's being the passive ones, just do the same but not going any closer than 2,5 mm using the same procedure. Use an Allen wrench to take measures.
  15. Traded my Stradi Symphony Bass Fretless 5 for Janis De Gier Origin Deluxe Fretless 6. Everything was perfect from the start to the unpacking and playing. Easy communication and very easy transaction. You can deal in complete confidence.
  16. I've sent hundreds of basses all over the world with only 2 problems that were solved as I had an insurance. One is related here : The other was a theft by the delivery man himself, a very clever guy... Beware that the English post only covers music instruments up to £100 GBP... I'm using for a while EuroSender when I have something to ship within Europe (UK is in Europe, by the way ), because they are a logistic company that will offer you the lowest fare, will pick up your parcel wherever you want, can send up to 30 kilos within UK and up to 40 kilos to Europe or even more on a pallet and will offer you up to 2.000 Euros of insurance. The slight issue being the two days of latency for your parcel to be picked up because they make the whole logistic part. It's fast and efficient. A link : https://www.eurosender.com/ That said slackening the strings could be more dangerous than it seems as the truss rod will induce even more tension to the neck. If you do this, then also release the truss rod tension and there will be no problem at all.
  17. It's Hiromi. Look here, Hugues is selling one of the previous generation (normal size body thickness), the Presentation II is similar to the one of Auslander : Watch this if you want to see Anthony Jackson playing that new Presentation II. Flashback is one of my favourite track :
  18. Just like my Status Electro II 6 Jonas Hellborg model from November 2001 in pristine condition : The low B here is very well defined with the Thomastik JR (nickel roundwound) fitted for the moment. I'll put some Fodera stainless steel roundwounds later (medium scale as it's a 82 cm scale, Jonas Hellborg being Swedish, the scale is in metric measure which gives 32 9/32 inches scale in imperial measure).
  19. EuroSender will take parcels (at the place of your choice) up to 40 kilos to Europe and up to 30 kilos inside UK with real insurance up to 2.000 Euros ! And they can even take your pallet if it's heavier. A link : https://www.eurosender.com/?mod=store&action=cart&on=1&to_id=223&from_id=223&packages=1&pallets=0&lang=en That said 13 kilos is not heavy at all. What about shipping an Ampeg SVT stack rated at 120 kilos...
  20. Correct, but it's better to use heat-shrinkable sleeve than insulation tape to avoid shortcuts.
  21. 9 basses including 5 fretlesses is enough ... for the moment.
