Hellzero replied to Ted Theodore Logan, III's topic in General Discussion
The late Mark Sandman of Morphine who died as fast as he was living. A great singer and an astouding bass player. Saw them loooooong ago with Moondog Junior opening for them. Fantastic concert, still in my memory. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Sandman- 141 replies

The almighty Lemmy, of course. No need for a picture. If you don't know him, you know nothing about bass. Period.- 141 replies

Wooden Machine Head Thread/Slip Issue...

That will work better than the Gorilla glue. -
Wooden Machine Head Thread/Slip Issue...

Russ, to achieve a correct gluing, you need a two components glue. Your Gorilla Glue, which by the way is also a psychotic, will break at the first resistance ... as it's a contact glue. -

I also had a series 1 and the two next generations. This series 1 are really astounding cabinet with loads of power capabilities and better sounding than the next generations, thanks to the B&C speakers. Was working wonderfully coupled to a Glockenklang class D head, and many others. And it's lighter than it looks. GLWYS. -
Try the mob. 😶

I think I'm going to stop putting text in my ads, and photos as well. No title either. Just : For sale.

It's Music Store, the other internet giant in Germany. 😉

Yes, I played this very one when Jean-Luc had it.

Try to find a second hand Leduc MP428SF or MP431SF (or HMP428SF or HMP431SF if you like headless basses). These are the best Jazz Bass like fretless you'll find, and certainly the only one where you'll hear the fundamental of each and every note. Once you've played a Leduc in a band, you'll understand why. Especially when your drummer will tell you this : Wow, that's the first time I'm hearing you and very well ! Try to find one with the EL-5 preamp and dummy coil (like Alembic) if you want to have a 2 bands preamp and a mid switch acting very cleverly. Here is an MP428SF, passive :

The Hiscox is certainly the best option, but the new price if this hard case is close to the resell value of his Traben bass... I've put my Langowski 36 inches scale and my Celinder 36 inches scale in one of these. Quite cheap, but worth every penny. If your friend is close to the store, it's worth going there and try one, or give them a call : https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/E-Bass-Softcases

I played the JV PB57-95 and it was really well sounding, like a Precision Bass really should. Did you put some flats on it, as I think it really deserves it ?

Saw them a few times when I was a student, some urm, urm, 30 to 40 years ago...

This ^^^.

If you like your GK sound, than stick to GK, because it a special one. Go and try some head(s) and cab(s) at your local retailer or the ones of fellow bass players.

Unusual Seven String Acoustic Bass

Nope, I just tried, but was so well unplayed that I fell asleep, just like every scary movies night... What about Muffy, the Vampire Diarrhea ? -
Fan-fret basses...scale lengths/the science.
Hellzero replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Bass Guitars
And to answer the OP, there are very few fanned fretless basses for some obvious reasons. 😉 -
I like wide necks, for ironing. 😁 Back to the tracks, I really love wide necks (real) ERB's, I mean at least 6 strings basses, with 20 mm strings at the bridge and 9 to 11 mm at the nut, and that from the day I bought my first Noguera ERB 8 strings with that strings spacing, which is soooo wide I could park a truck on it. They are, to me, easier to play than the narrow strings spacing ones. I also like long scales from 34 to 36 inches, or the double bass 3/4 or 4/4 scale for ... double bass. But I'm quite tall and large. Now, I'm in the process of selling all my narrow strings spacing basses and shorter than 34 inches scale. And for these wide necks basses, I use a standard Hercules stand on which I've widened the neck rest by pulling both parts.
