1.
Not sure how he did it but he put it back on pretty fast!
Now that I would be good at!! Not come across that Simon Phillips track before (nice), but it is him with AJ on that new Hiromi CD (Voice). Brendan
 2. Thanks Mike: I've got the CD on pre-order so really looking forward to it. Now I need to see if I can make one of those gigs should be great. Seen Hiromi a couple of time too with Tony Grey on bass -- he great too! Brendan
Yes the new Hiromi album is great - it's probably her best for ages in fact, AJ is killing on it, just grooving like a mutha and nailing all the unison lines in his own particularly cool way - his b-lines and backup playing is its usual impeccable/inspiring self - well worth getting hold of. FYI he's in London for three nights in July with Hiromi and Steve Smith at Ronnie Scott's - I've seen Hiromi live several times and she's always great value, and I've been lucky to hear AJ twice (once at the 55 Bar with Wayne Krantz and Keith Carlock, which was amazing) and once with Mike Stern at Ronnie's - based on those performances I think these trio gigs will be killing: http://www.ronniescotts.co.uk/performances...anthony-jackson Also another new AJ album that's well worth checking out is with him back with Steve Khan and Dennis Chambers on an album called 'Parting Shot' - it's very cool stuff - like a slightly more laid back version of the Eyewitness band - but full of great group improv and really musical grooves - more on that here: http://www.abstractlogix.com/xcart/product...productid=25109 I'll be at one of the Hiromi gigs - so maybe see some of you there Mike
3.
Amazing how losing all that weight takes about 20 years off him!
+1 he looks great! I wonder how he did it? (I am thinking it may even be easier for me to copy his weight loss than even dare to try and get in the same playing league!!) LOL Anyone heard the new Hiromi album with him on yet? Brendan
 4. Has anyone found a case or carry bag that fits the line 6 POD HD500 and is cheaper than the 57 quid L6 want for theirs ? Brendan
 5.
Well, yes. Shops have effectively had to stop carrying the outlandish gear to get by. Selling boutique basses is really an online only proposition now too. I'd love a Luthier's Access Group type thing in this country but there is just no market for it. GAK and Thomann have squeezed the competition out!
+1000 Real shame B
 6. I don't suppose you would be interested in a swap for a Status King bass artist in Cocobolo with green LEDs? Brendan
 7. I agree with "No More 'aroe's any moooooorrrrrrreeeeeeeeee" From a different genre try: Or how about one of our very own: Brendan
 8. Yes on BPOD XT you can set patches to no amp/cab as you say. Also with later software update the first soft button turns amp/cab off instantly for any patch you are on. You can set with-amp/without to there own volume levels to balance. With 64 slots you may find leaving an amp on for some special effect on top of your Sansamp works well. You can also edit the patches & effects chains by software freely downloaded from the L6 site. Davemal for synths try to HD500 -- loads of them there (and they track better than XT) Brendan
 9. From bitter experience Bass Central are rob-dogs spend your (imaginary) cash elsewhere. Brendan
 10. Story here from Mesa site: http://mesaboogie.com/news/2011/04/artist-...e-turner-elbow/ Pete is a long time user of the L6 Bass Pod for effects (as seen with Mesa rig in pictures) does anyone know how he routes it to the amp or how he bypasses/blends it? Brendan

 13.
Came across this photo I took many years ago. JPJ collecting the triple from Mansons. Why was I there? I used to build custom flight cases and had just delivered one for the triple.
I could do with that down t' folk club! B
 14.
Well, they've owned them for about 3 years now and things are going well,it seems. I think the difference is that Jeff Genzler is still there, where as Steve Rabe left SWR after the buy out.
And lets not even mention Eden OMG -- (rather Fender buy a company than US music hawks!!!) B
