1. I saw them (Sonicbloome) at the Hague Jazz festival -- Fantastic -- I have subsequently purchased her last 3 Albums including Beyond Standard. BTW the guitarist that plays with them uses a Double neck with a fretless 12 string!!! Some very unique sounds from that. Brendan
2. Has anyone got or used a TC G-Sharp (modulation, reverb multi effect)? Are they any good? They seem quite cheap at the moment Brendan
3.
Does he apologise for the truly appalling production on his last album?
I thought I had a bad copy or my HiFi was not as good as I assumed! It's like everything is turned up to Max isn't it. Hurts my ears on headphones. Pity because the tunes are good. Brendan
4.
Eddie and the Hotrods - The Beginning of the End - Paul Gray is a bass god in my opinion (said it before and will say it again). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGkFnK-_qj0 Pete.
+1000 to that one Paul along with Barry Adamson & John Gustafson constructed bass lines that were the song -- Fantastic Brendan
5. The Man with the Horn -- One of Marcus Miller's first gigs -- Fat Time (Link to LastFM) remains one of the best things Marcus ever did, and all bassists should study it! The rest of the album & musicians are great too -- Includes Mike Stern on Guitar (who apparently was Fat at the time and the tune is about him!!!) I am getting nostalgic now and will listen to my vinyl version later (Don't give-up on your Vinyl) Brendan Edited to add LastFM link
6. To be fair they are not too loud, it's just that my recent amps have had fans that only switch when the amp is hot so I asked the question. As MB1 say's I would rather them be on all the time than put the circuits at risk. They don't half have some suction as well don't they (I am sure there is a joke in there somewhere ) B
7. COOL (Yep I'll get my coat too!!!)
8. Thanks Guys My concerns answered in less the half-an-hour. I will get you both a beer if I ever meet you. Now I can go and spank my plank & see what this amp can do. Brendan
9.
Yep, I used to own one and yes, it's an always fan P
Wow thanks for the quick reply Platypus I guess I will get use to it (The Fan noise) Another quick question to any one that has owned one (I emailed Ashdown but didn't get an answer) is it OK to run the unit without a speaker connected -- for using pre-amp & DI recording? Thanks again -- Great helpful site Brendan
10. Hi Folks, A quick question for anyone with an Ashdown MK500 (or probably any 575w Ashdown). Is it normal for the cooling fans to be on all the time? (come on at start-up & stay on) Thanks Brendan
