  2. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/395084-the-reggae-thread/page/115/#comments
  3. There seems to be a whole bunch of "Featured Videos" of no relevance attaching themselves to the bottom of threads.
  4. No problem we are all here to learn. I get stuff mixed up all the time! It is easy to confuse/mix Herbie's Chameleon with Stratus both the same year & both from the same Jazz Fusion/Miles Davis background
  5. RIP Keith https://www.theguardian.com/music/2022/nov/12/keith-levene-founding-member-of-the-clash-dies-at-65-public-image-ltd
  6. Here is some Old School Reggae from 1969 that has been "borrowed" & sampled a lot including the Staple Singers (1972)
  7. It is actually "Stratus" from Bill Cobham's "Spectrum". Bass by Leland Sklar. Here He is doing a play over (Sorry to Derail the Reggae RB) Massive Attack sampled Stratus. Dug Wimbish played it on the Horace Andy Album B
  8. Fair Do's. The price of love! lol - But if it does the job... It was £999 preorder on GuitarGuitar
  9. Holly !!! I’ve just seen the price !!!
  10. IMHO this is the best update they have done. Some of the Cabs are better than IRs I've bought separately much clearer than the original ones. Only tried the Bass ones up to now can't wait to try the Guitar ones!!
  11. TNK (Tomorrow Never Knows) · Phil Manzanera 801 Live
  12. "Stan the Man" uses a guitar amp in His rig to get the grit live
  13. He apparently used it too on His Album The Message (Track: Last Train To Sanity) according to the 2015 article from Bass Player (From which that pic came) Edit to say: I think that Album is actually called Up in the UK
  14. One of My favourite vocalists in Any Genre!
  15. This is so sad. I lived & played, in many bands there in the late 80s through the 90s. All the places You mention had many venues & pubs with music! At least 5 or 6 in Ludlow (Bull, George, Assembly rooms, etc. & 4 or so in "The Castle" (Grapes, Castle Hotel, 3 Tuns, Vaults, etc. And places around like Knighton, Clun, Leominster, Hereford all had pubs & clubs with gigs. And Olivers in Shrewsbury had Bands most nights! 😢 Real Sad. B
  16. He can't even get through a Youtube Vid without changing them!
  17. This + 1 & that is where the "Mega Bucks" come in. New means brand new sparkling need to change them very regularly, Mark (sponsored string deal) used to swap basses (with new strings) mid-gig because the sound had gone off !!! From bitter experience it is a very expensive sound to chase! Any of the lighter gauges will do (40 to 100 last a little longer but not much!!!) B
