  1. I've taken the plunge. WB-100 on its way....
  2. A couple of quick questions as I'm interested in these: The DI on the R400 got good reviews in the other thread. Is the one in the WB-100 as good? How do the Power and Standby switches function? Anyone using them with Barefaced BB2s?
  3. @Hellzero, is it the 1000w @ 4ohm version that you have? I'm buying this one for a Barefaced One10 I'm going to use for home practice and the rare bit of gigging duty when my 2 x BB2 are being used for PA duties. But I was thinking about getting bigger Baby Sumo (Toddler Sumo?) for my normal gigging, and getting a really nice pre to go with it. (Still tempted by a Noble...)
  4. These are great, supporting the higher draw of digital pedals, and they are slim enough to fit under PedalTrain Nano boards. Great selection of cables too.
  5. On holiday, so apologies for going back a few pages.... @TJ Spicer, were they doing deals on all basses? I'm still thinking about a BB434 or BB734 to go with my BBP35...
  6. Would you either post (to Berkshire) or meet in Paddington?
  7. I might keep an eye out for a 734 to go with the P35. I like the dark coffee sunburst. If I don’t like the active circuit then I’m guessing that a 734 in passive mode is damn close to the 434 in sound.
  8. I have a black abalone pickguard that would look lively on that, currently on a black and maple P that would suit the current b/w/b 3ply that I think you have on there. And I need to pick up my daughter from Edinburgh Uni next month...
  9. Is that a standard P bass pick guard you're using following the mod to passive?
  10. Nice bass. The pearloid pickguard was a good choice. Better than the tort in my eyes. I reckon a parchment one would also look good...
  11. Sit down and make yourself comfortable.... I shouldn't post and watch TV at the same time! I never had the pleasure of playing a 1025 or 2025, but I know they are seriously well regarded. No idea personally how they compare to my BBP35 I'm afraid. I just went by the internet reviews.
  12. My first guitar was a BB424X, which is a helluva lot of guitar for the money. I then ended up with a few Fenders (American J, American P, and an AVRI J) and then this came up: The Yamaha went along the way. I then needed to pick up a five string for a few songs being added to our set such as No One Knows. II was thinking about a 1025 or 2025 as my old teacher said that Fender Vs weren't as good as the four strings. And then this came up: The neck is glorious and very flat and suits a low action. Tonally it is massively versatile and the P bass tone when rolled off is lovely. B string is good. Really punchy bass and enormous sustain.
  13. I've got the sunburst BBP35. Gorgeous bass. Quality workmanship and very versatile.
  14. How much to send one in a rack case to the Berkshire area?
  15. I bought the Yamaha BBP35 😃: Excellent communication at all stages, and he is a great person to deal with. The bass is exactly as described and in beautiful condition. One very pleased buyer! Also, check out some of his videos - Miki is a fantastic bassist.
  16. Only because he has the 5 string as well! Great tone and really nice playing. I like watching the videos on these forums to know what to work towards.
  17. Worth watching the Sir Duke cover purely for the eyebrow raise at 01:53. 😂
  18. I have one of these as my backup and it has a lovely warm tone from the tube preamp. Useful aux input, headphone out and tuner out which is why it is also my practice room amp. An absolute steal at £300.

  20. I have just bought a rather beautiful Fender 70s Jazz from Del. Very easy to deal with, great communication, and he even popped to my workplace to drop it off on the way to Heathrow! Top guy and I'd absolutely recommend him. Looks a righteous dude on stage as well, based on the Facebook vids!
  21. Love the reverse psychology. Fugly for me, but the glam rock custom job makes perfect sense!
