1. I have one of these from around the same time, and it is just gorgeous to play. Great pickups, fantastic neck, and the colour has to be seen in the flesh as it looks a little different dependant on the lighting and is really deep and rich. GLWTS!
2.
Like the OP I only ever go through the PA so I've ordered a single One 10 with the top hat mount as it's all I'm going to need. I've already bought a good speaker stand and amp to go with the cab. It's due in the next couple of weeks
Delberthot, what stand did you go with? I could go for a smaller "monitor" cab if it was higher.
3. A festive bump and a Merry Christmas to you all. Thanks for the nice comments above.
4. OK, price dropped from £220 to £200. Cheers...
5. Hi, Up for sale is my first bass, bought three years ago from Andertons in Guildford. These Yamaha basses are incredible value for money, and are well thought of for both quality and tone. I've just bought an american precision bass to go with my jazz, and I have been informed that the house maximum is two (for the moment...) so it is time to reluctantly say goodbye to this one. It has a set of new Rotosound bass 66 strings six months ago, and has hardly been played since. I've included the original Yamaha strings as well as frankly there is still plenty of life in them - I just wanted to learn how to restring a bass! There is a slight mark on the lacquer on the back, which you can only see if the light is right. There is also a small indentation on the back of the neck near the high frets which is shown, but I never seem to notice it when playing. The bass comes with the original box and manuals etc. Local pick up only from Wokingham in Berkshire, and you are more than welcome to try it out before making your mind up. 6. OK, some belated feedback. I bought a Genz Benz Streamliner 900 from Pete back in Nov 2014. Due to circumstances we met up somewhere near Coventry (I was coming back from a meeting) and dealt face to face. Communication was great, transaction went well, the amp is a) brilliant and in great condition, and Pete is a genuinely nice person to deal with.
7. Hi, I thought I should start to get some feedback on here and get a little more active on the forums. (I've also got a guitar and amp to sell!) Just to prove I'm a real person and al that, here are a few links: http://www.192.com/a...g41/3779329171/ https://www.linkedin...tab_profile_pic https://twitter.com/RichCheneyAzure https://twitter.com/RichCheneySFC http://www.pinewoodfc.com - U12s Pumas manager (now U13s, but website admin is a bit slow) https://www.facebook...735419/?fref=ts (covers band...only been playing a couple of years) Cheers - Rich
8. I have a black BB424X. That is a lot of bass for £200! GLWTS
9. Hi, I have only just noticed this forum, so apologies for not introducing myself earlier. My name is Rich, I live in Wokingham, and almost exactly two years ago I decided to give bass guitar a go. Before then the closest I had got to playing in a band was picking up plastic instruments on Rock Band! I joined Rock Project Encore in Windsor, and haven't looked back. I picked up a black Yamaha BB424X a couple of weeks later and a small Ampeg practice amp. Since then I've done a number of end of term concerts with them, and also joined a band formed out of the group, playing covers at friends and family gigs, the odd pub gig or school fete. As seems to be the way, I have accumulated a little bit of gear so far: an Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi pedal, a Genz Benz Streamliner 900 from petetexas, an Ashdown Mag 600 Evo III and the first of my planned stack of Barefaced Big Baby II cabs. I fear that might not be the end of it... I love playing the bass, and just wonder why I waited so long to pick one up.
