  1. There's a nice Sadowsky SA200 that's still for sale in the forum. Would someone please just do the right thing and buy it? I really don't need it as I have the Handbox WB-100 and my back wouldn't thank me for buying it, but damn it is a gorgeous looking and sounding amp...
  2. Yep, I have one of these after watching too many videos of WoT playing through one. Great sound, and I've had my troublesome DI sorted with an upgraded Jensen transformer. I still use a Class D for one band - a 1200w Bergantino Forte HP - but the combination of a P bass and Handbox WB-100 is just glorious for standard rock.
  3. https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/yamaha/guitars/bass I think the colours on the BB23x are nicer than the more expensive BBs. Love the raspberry red and vintage white.
  4. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  5. As per my other ad, I need to reduce down my selection of amps to chase after a bass guitar I'm after. This is a really great amp that was my gigging amp of choice for a good time. It is has been well cared for - travelling in a flight case - so is in great condition. The amp has plenty of power, very responsive and articulate, and whilst the Darkglass BK3 and VMT channels are an obvious attraction, I think it is the clean tone and the awesome pre controls that are the real stars of this amp for me when you're looking to cut through. The intelligent footswitch is in good working order, but shows signs of use. Amp is boxed and includes power cable and instructions. (The Barefaced One10 is not included btw!)
  6. My Genz Benz Streamliner 900 is going up for sale as apparently having five amps is too many, and there's a bass I'm hankering after. (Isn't there always...) These are well regarded and for good reason. Great tube pre for a lovely rounded warm sound, very usable tone shaping and oodles of power and a very decent DI. The aux in and headphone out are really useful for home practice. Socially distanced pick up preferred, but will also ship (at cost) with Eurosender if required. Comes in the box with power cable and manual. (I'll add in a spare tube as well as they're the same as the ones in my Handbox WB-100.)
  7. If Yamaha ever read this thread - make sure your various BB models are always available in white. Classy.
  8. I always regretted selling the BB424X as it was my first bass. And I couldn't justify keeping the BBP35 as I play mainly four string. So the BB1025X is pretty much a compromise, and happens to be the same colour as my original four string.
  9. Currently: none Previously: BB424X, BBP35 Incoming: BB1025X
  10. All black. I love the case. Getting the front section back on can be a little fiddly sometimes, but I like the surface coating and styling. Things I would change on the WB-100? Not much tbh. I would love an aux input to join in at the power stage for home practice, but I have a class D that I use for that. Perhaps a tuner out, but I personally always have my pedal board with me. And I would consider making the pre more standard. I am used to it now, and rarely change it, but it is so very different to the pres on my other three amps. Oh, I'd call it the WB-120 to match the power stage, as I think there is going to be a WB-180 later?
  11. I’ve only ever rolled off the bass in boomy rooms with the WB-100. Leszek has a good ear and the flat settings are pretty damn perfect.
  12. Right, I'm not buying any more basses from this site unless it has a showroom video like that one!! * * Might not be a hard and fast rule.
  13. http://www.handbox.pl/BASS-AMPLIFIERS-c42.html That page is in English and has both the R400 and WB-100. Leszek is a very talented amp designer with high levels of build quality. The process is not that of a large organisation and communication is not always great, but if you want a great value amp then I think that is a price worth paying.
  14. There are no UK distributors. They are shipped direct from Poland by Leszek - email him on [email protected]. The website has some English pages for the specs and videos showing the tone. There are some notes on what to expect in either this thread or the main Handbox one.
  15. I stack two BB2s with my WB-100, and it is great. Definitely shifts enough air! Get a second Compact, run off the 4ohm and it will be majestic. (You could consider stacking a BB2 with the Compact as an option - it would then be more like a Big Twin 2 rather than a Super Twin - but I'm not sure how well they'd stack as I think the BB2 is a slightly deeper cab than the Compact, and you'd ideally want the tweeter up high.)
  16. Already in progress! Another guy in Cambridge waiting in the wings if the basschat buyer falls through.
  17. If that BB435 doesn't quite do it for you then you can always move it on to me! I am downsizing from my BBP35 as I just don't play enough 5 string to justify keeping a £1000 guitar on the wall.
  18. The bass is just a standard Fender Precision American Standard from a couple of years back, but frankly I just wanted to show off my new pick guard from alperious.com as I absolutely love it!!!
  19. We had the Stereophonics at our Christmas bash, and it was good to see Richard Jones sporting a burst BBP34. Pretty damn punchy with the pair of 8x10s he had behind him.
  20. I've only done one rehearsal with mine, but I loved the sound it made so much that I never wanted to move the dials. I ended up moving only the gain and volume depending on the nature of the song. The tone from the WB-100 is just amazing. So much character, punch, natural harmonics. I found myself letting notes ring out longer because they sounded so good. I think I might be slimming my pedal board down a little further. I'll test out the DI in the next rehearsal. I'll keep that on pre rather than post if I'm going to end up moving dials about willy nilly. One happy punter!
  21. WoT, you should set up as Leszek's UK distribution arm!!
  22. I currently use a Darkglass M900 for gigging / rehearsals and a Genz Benz Streamliner 900 for home practice. With the Streamliner I find I roll off the bass more with the BB2 than with the One10. The 10CRs seem to go low but in a tight and controlled way, whilst the tube pre with the 12" drivers can potentially bloom every once in a while.
  23. One tip for anyone buying Hand Box amps from Leszek. At payment he asks to be paid £825 (or whatever the R400 costs), providing name, address, IBAN and SWIFT codes. When you set Leszek as recipient then make sure you select GBP as the destination currency. Not euros, and not zloty (which is still the Polish currency). The bank at the far end will expect GBP. (Leszek has also set up other accounts expecting zloty, USD, and euros for other international customers.) If you do pay in euros or zloty then the bank will merrily convert EUR to PLN, then PLN to GBP and will do so at horrific rates. (I thought the UK banks were disgraceful in their rates and charges, but they are a different level!) Note also that your high street bank may have fixed charges for foreign payments. For example, Lloyds charge £9.50. My recommendation? Use a TransferWise card. You can clearly set what the recipient receives, in which currency, and the charges you pay are clear and minimal. They are much cheaper even when avoiding currency conversion and paying in GBP.
  24. Loving that! Sounds great. And the WB-100 both looks and sounds the absolute business. I can't wait to get my hands on it. I might take both BB2s to rehearsal.... I'm also curious how it's going to sounds through my One10. I have a feeling that the amp might be a great match for the 10CR speakers. Perhaps I should mentally prepare the wife for a possible Six10 invasion of the front room...
