1. I emailed these guys the other day asking where I could get a UV tube for my Trace (now found!). Didn't hear a jot back from them.

3. Due to a re - evaluation of my setup, a number of items have come up for sale - all available for collection from Milton Keynes: Eden Nemesis NC210 - specs here - http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/fl...roduct_id/22820 250 Watt 2 x 10 combo - nice and punchy with built in compression, 'enhance' control, 3 band eq plus additional parametric control. A few light scuffs from gigging but otherwide good condition - £300 Marshall IBS (irritable bowel syndrome?!) 400 Bass head 2 x 200W Bi ampable mosfet head in a rather sw***y ornate wooden sleeve (needs some TLC). I've used this once at a rehearsal and it worked fine - pretty loud for 200W. I've never used the bi amp facilities, and it could probably do with a service. Rack handles are broken - includes the all essential manual! I bought this for £150 recently, but then picked up a Trace head which has made it redundant - looking to recoup my outlay. SOLDRoland Bass Cube 100 In good condition apart from a few scuffs on the handle. You know what these things do! £150SOLD If people definately want to buy, I can bring these to the bass bash next sunday. Here's the pics -
4.
I used to be the same until I was reading and article somewhere about building up fret hand stamina or something like that and it basicaly said to string up a spare bass with heavier strings so if you practiced using the spare and went back to your main bass you would be able to play it easier. I tried it and after a wee while I decided that the heavier strings felt better and went with that ever since
Think I'm gonna try that. It's usually roto swing bass 105's for me, fingerstyle rock and funk. Do most of you slappers prefer lighter strings?
5. Can we make this thread more usefull by saying what type of music we use the strings for - ie - are light strings better for slap etc??
6. Will a standard fender jazz neck fit this body? What's it made of?
7. Thanks so much guys - saved me a lot of hassle - btw - this amp just so kicks - I lurve it!!
8. Hi Y'all Recently picked up a GP11 AH250...........which is pretty godlike soundwise.... But the UV tube is a bit flickery. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?
9. Bloody hell - how many local traces could possibly show up in a week!!
10. I can feel a request for a loan coming on (from her who must be obeyed!!)
11.
I accept your first point, but I still think the bass (and the paintbrushes and for that matter Martin Luther King's toothbrush) has historical importance - the point is that in our imaginations, it provides a connection to Jaco and the music he played on that bass... with that in mind, another example: a piece of the true cross is just a lump of wood (not even a bass!) and Jesus would have been nailed up just as efficiently on any other cross - it wasn't even specially made for Jesus or selected by him; but a mundane object associated with someone special is invested with historical interest, which is why Jaco's bass is an artifact which can fuel our imaginations if we want it to
+1 on that. A piece of the true cross - wow - here we are likening the basis of a way of life to ....errr... the basses of a way of life..... I really shouldn't post in the early hours when I've had too much to drink hee hee... hic!
12. Just thought I'd pop on to say....I've got a similar Crafter - and it's a complete gas to play, lovely bass - when I get her out I can noodle for hours. Sounds spookily like a double bass as well!
13. Blimey - are Trace Elliot heads like busses? Been looking for one for a while then 2 come along in 3 days both locally. Had to stand Beedster up on his as I've just picked up a series 5 - 11 band AH250 and a 1510 cab all for a stupidly silly price. Sorry mate - have a free bumparoo!
14. I think the moral of this thread should be to warn younger players of what's in store if they don't use earplugs. I'm a train driver, and currently have to have hearing tests every five years. If my hearing goes, my job is down the pan. I gig once to three times a week - and I ALWAYS wear an earplug in the ear closest to the drummer. Not only does this protect me, it helps me hear my singing voice also. Took about 5 or 6 gigs to get used to but I won't do without it now. SO LISTEN UP YOU YOUNG UPSTARTS............. Look after your ears before it's too late....pardon? What did you say? Col
15. I use Thomann 'The Box' 12 inch 300W ones. Ok for medium size venues - lotsa gear for the money - heavy though! I bought one for pubs and liked it so much I bought another - cheap as chips!
16. These are great basses - I had one, sold it then missed it so bought another! Free bump
17.
and here's a pic to prove it.
That's the bit of kit I've been waiting for - I want one!!
18. Maplins sell one for about a fiver - no LED though
19. Yup - I've got a VM 70's jazz. Stuck an East retro and a Gotoh bridge on and it's as good as anything else I've got. Decent action, great looker, even tone across the board, minimal dead spots. Only gripe is it's a little heavy being maple.
