Velcro
B & Q but you have to make sure it's bonded to the pedal allright. I ended up using superglue after the pedals came loose as it's quite expensive stuff to get! (i'm talking about the bond between the velcro and the pedal, or the velcro and the board, not the bond between velcro and velcro, which for the B&Q brand, is particularly strong). I'm hoping someone else is going to post some cheaper, and stickier links!
Thanks Tom - keep 'em coming!

To be honest - I think the real problem is that you can't name the patches, and being as I'm the wrong side of 40 I can't remember where i put what. Ironically, I seldom change patch during songs - just have a patch set up for a particlular song - i.e one for 'Starlight', one for 'Come as you are', a generic clean patch, one with chorus on etc. Now I'm adding more for the Floyd Tribute band - I can't remember if patch A4 was Nirvana or Sheep!! This works fine with the old style patch select - remember you could choose to switch it off and change directly - and you can see what patch you've selected.

OK guys - cheers. Seems like zoom could have made life so much easier if they'd let you preselect like on the older units - i.e. you can select a patch but the sound won't change until you hit both pedals together. I think my problem is I play in 3 different bands, and the set lists change every gig, so I couldn't set up the patches in order. What I'm gonna try is using my zoom as part of pedal board. I'm thinking something like a seperate compressor, BDI 21, Dimension C, Guvnor Plus, Bass Synth Wah and Zoom. I can keep the zoom on bypass and use it for volume control and tuning, then switch the other pedals in and out as required. I can still program specific sounds into the zoom - select the patch before the song, then bypass it, then switch it in as required during the song. Sorry if this is hijacking the thread a bit but it's a conversation worth having methinks - cheers for the input Kev and Tom.
I would highly recommend the Zoom. I don't think patch switching is a problem, there are loads of ways around this which have been detailed in threads before. The limiter is deffinitely much better than the comp which is a bit crap, but, at least there's a limiter! The DI is good (although in my rig I can't use that as it's only a portion of my sound) and the usb connectivity for 0 latency recording is a great feature too!
Hey Chedddatom - we've been here before - can you direct me to the threads about how to overcome the B2's patching issues - or give me some ideas urself - I'm intrigued as I want to make the most of mine. Don't feel I'm getting the best out of it at the mo

The Zoom sounds great but you can only change patch to the patch directly next door - that may cause you a problem if you want to use multiple sounds during a song. If you find the compressor harsh (I did) use the limiter setting which IMHO is much better. It's a robust and nice sounding unit - shame you can't name patches or pre select a la the old zoom units.
7. Playing at Careys in Coventry, I was sorting out the PA as well as playing bass. I'd only done it a few times before. During the break the drummer said...."Col - something's feeding back". I immediately thought PA - so I turned the masters down - ringing gets louder so I turned all the individual channels down - ringing gets louder so I turn the mixer off. Then I realise I haven't turned the volume down on my bass which is sitting in front of my amp/cab - still plugged in AND I've now lost the mix for the second half. Oh dear.
8. I've got the cash - just need the talent!!
9.
Must be Hell for your family!!
It really bugs me - whenever I've got a gig, I say to Mrs Tut, please don't cook me anything that'll give me gas - for the sake of the others, and it's inevitably either a curry or something or other with baked beans!!
10. That's a looker alright. If I didn't have an ash $$ I'd bite yer arm off!
11. I think the mexican ones have some extra routing holes under the scratchplate. You couldn't us a mex jazz body for a 'jaco' alike with no scratchplate.
12. I'm learning it at the mo and have a hell of a time working out where to come in after the vocals each time! Any help appreciated!
13. I love it when I help someone out by buying a bass!!
14. Yes - very good - nice bloke and reasonable prices - does it cos he loves it - I'll pm you his phone number.
15. OK - as promised here's some pics. I've decided to go for a tort scratchplate, which I've just ordered, so I'll put the mirror plate on my black 86 Jap Precision. I gigged her on new Year's Eve and I'm very pleased - a very solid sound, very deep - with the treble rolled off she'd make a lovely reggae bass - nice for the Police numbers we do! here goes....... Front - Back - Front Closeup - Headstock - And here's the repair on the neck - it was a double groove - very deep - about 1 -1.5 mm at the deepest. It looks just like a fag burn now, and very smooth - you can hardly feel it - Enjoy - if anyone wants any close ups of anything just shout!
16. Pics will be forthcoming shortly fellas!! Col
17. I needed one for mine and used brass from a hobby shop - looks and works fine.
18. I bought this bass and took delivery on christmas eve. I don't usually buy unseen so took a bit of a chance. I read this thread about 5 hours after the money had changed hands and started to worry - particularly about the comment regarding the scratchplate holes!! Anyhow, it was pretty much as described in the ad, although it did have some fairly serious fret wear, which wasn't described. The scratchplate - I think - maybe is the original one, but had been painted over, making it look like bakelite. By pure coincidence, my son bought me a mirror scratchplate for christmas, so that went straight on! I think the comment about the holes not matching up relates to the pickup cover holes - they were in the correct place - just that the holes hadn't been drilled into the body! Anyway, I got her back from Andy Viccars (luthier) today. He's dressed the frets and filled the hole in the back of the neck. She's definately a keeper - vintagey mojo'd looks - reasonable weight. The action is fairly low for a precision - got it down to about 2.2mm on the E at the top fret. Absolutely no dead spots - and it sustains forever. She came with a good quality lead and gig bag and a Boss CS 3 - so I don't think it was too bad a deal - I'm quite pleased!
19. Blimey Dan - I'm very tempted to have that back off you - it used to be mine and it's rather nice peeps - A1 condition Col
20. I think 1.5 mm at the 12th is EXTREMELY low - I couldn't possibly run an action that low - I'd be clanking all over the shop - maybe that's bad technique on my part - most of my basses are 2 - 3 mm. I'm not surprised you have to keep tweaking! Good luck though matey!
