1. Hi - nice to meet you all on this community - and this is what I'm about....... Any chance of an introduction mate??!!
2. How else could it be diagnosed competently other than by going to your doctor? If you don't trust your own GP, you may need to splash out and seek someone privately. I think that placing your health in the hands of an internet forum, however well meaning we all are, would be a bad move. Get specialist help mate - if only to put your mind at rest.
3. Corvettes have deep necks but still slim - ie jazz width, If you like a traditional P neck (wide and shallow) you won't like a corvette (imho)!
4. Recently bought some strings from Alan - quickly delivered and well packaged - nice one!
5. Received a bridge and knobs from Steve today. Fast delivery - well packaged thanks.
6. It's a pretty loud 200 watts though - even into an 8 ohm cab!
7. I'm glad you've taken that Harry Potter - it's saved me much soul searching. These are fab basses!
8. I don't think you'll have to worry about overloading the 2 x 10. With the amount of volume you'll have available with that rig - you'd have to be pretty extreme to drive it into clipping. Go for it mate!

13.
Argh, 2 great offers. The bass ive always wanted (SBV) and the bass that would suit me to the ground (Buckered up P-bass) Would love to see some pics Col
Ok matey - I'll get some up over the next coupla days - whereabouts in Bedfordshire are you? Col
14. Hi Matty, I have a mex Fender precision, with a Kent Armstrong MM humbucker retro fitted in the bridge position. It's tidy but not immaculate, and is a stunning playing / sounding bass. Interested in a straight trade? - I live not far from beds so could prob meet up - can get pics sorted over the next couple of days if you're interested. Col
15. Although I'm not familiar with your bass, your cheapest option (assuming the pups are passive) would be to wire the bass up passive in the short term - until you have enough dough to put an active eq in. Assuming it's a 2 pickup bass - you'll need 3 pots, some wire, some solder and a capacitor. Do a quick search for wiring diagrams, or find a mate who can do it for you. You never know - you might even think it sounds better passive. If you don't like it passive, once you've got enough money you need to decide whether to replace the original eq, or upgrade - I guess most of us would upgrade - so look at EMG, John East, bartolini, Aguilar etc. If you have some front, you might take your bass back to the shop and ask them to fix it - they probably have a luthier they regularly use - insist on cost price as it's only just out of warranty, and insist they lend you a bass (prob second hand) to use while yours is away. be polite but firm - they want your continued custom........but maybe you bought it online or from Sound Control? Just some options for you dude! Hope it helps.

17. I personally think a good condition SH series one would be a much better bet. The bridge on these later fenders is much more substantial than those of old, and if you don't like the series one switching - just don't use it. I picked one up off of here for under £500 and it's mint and gorgeous!
18. How about an East J Retro, with the mids boosted. What i like is the passive bypass - ideal if you're gigging and worry about flat batteries.
19. I've used both and while the 30 is brill - the 100 is much louder - also the 30 doesn't have a di out so even with a pa, you wouldn't be able to put the 30 through the pa without cutting the speaker.
20. If you buy your drummer brushes - he's only gonna paint the ceiling with them!! Sorry - old joke!
21. We always rehearse in my house with an electric kit and everything through headphones - it's cheap, and everything gets recorded.
