1. I have to say...for the first time ever I feel like we all have got really lucky....sure GG have made money somewhere on this gear...and someone may have lost out, but this stuff actually is BRAND SPANKING NEW. I came home today to find the M212 in a very well padded tecamp box. Its even got the original box, a manual on how the speakers 'work', and the cab had corner protectors and a bag over it. Sure its been taken out to be checked, but wow is this perfect. Ampeg really have been beaten by the Germans in terms of quality of 'old school' design; the fake leather is VERY nice, the corners fit flush, the back panel is clear, the handles work well, the front grille looks awesome, and the two poles next to the grille look great. I haven't tested it as yet, just took it out and inspected it thinking itd be scuffed etc. Thank god its 4 ohms, and yes, its the lightest cab in this size ive ever experienced. I got it up the stairs on my own! Its also solid as hell. Here are some phone pics:
2. Ok...having to stop myself getting a combo! I do not need one! I think ill keep the money towards the Shuttle 9.0
3. Dont worry about the strikes....guitarguitar site says they are not affected due to who they use. Has anyone got a 210 combo or 112 combo then?!?!??! There are quite a few left on the site...I want one!
4. Hey guys Well, lets hope this M212 is as good as I hear! I cannot believe how low the prices are. I think this is going to be a very lucky one off….the thing is I nearly bought one of these at £900 a few months back…then I nearly bought one second hand for £700! I would love the 212 combo. I asked for some advice off Talkbass and the chap who has tried most of them said the old design S212 is fantastic, and the M212 is also brilliant but bigger and more low end. I basically gave him the list if what they had, and the prices, and he said get the M212 as it’s the best all rounder and still very light. Its not small by any means, but by my calculations its shorter/wider than two AE112s, and 18 lbs lighter! Oh...and how much cheaper yet still high end?! The combos would have been more tempting if they had the option of taking that fantastic amp out….plus….if I ever wanted to use it to its full potential, I would have needed another 2x10 8 ohm cab. If that amp would have come out, I would have paid even more. This is my first neo cabinet, and I cannot believe its only 44lbs….the same as one Aguilar DB112! That is insane. Plus, 4 ohms. My LM3 will be getting a good workout very soon with this cab! I have a gig on Friday, so if we have space ill be taking this with me. Pics and review up soon. If I don’t really need it, I’ll be selling it on, so let me know if you are interested. It won’t be selling any lower than what I paid though due to the already super low price. To be honest, if I didn’t already have a lot of cabs, one of those 6x10s would have been amazing. But, overkill for me. If I was looking for a 6x10/8x10 I would grab one NOW! Can we keep this thread going and get some pics up when they all arrive? I asked the manager at guitarguitar and he said it’s all new stock, not even been used. I hope the cabinet is in as new condition. I don’t mind the odd scuff, but ill check it out tomorrow. He did mention they bought it all at really low prices; not sure how, but then again, for the saving and the fact its got a one year warranty, I cannot complain. Remember chaps….they have a 7 day no hassle returns policy. Any issues….send it back. I really want a cabinet cover, one of the proper Tecamp ones. Where can I buy one?! UPDATE - At these prices, Im tempted for a 1x12 combo...purely because its a high end 1x12 combo for £399!!!! When is everyones gear coming?!
5. Update - gone with the one M212 that was left. Asked KJung (?) on Tbass about the 3 options I had, and he said the M212 all the way. Apparently the M212 wasnt properly put on the site...but they do have it...well not now £349...even If I dont use it much and sell it on...its SO cheap!
6. Well...after all that...Im a bit 'hmm' about the combos as they arent 4 ohms and you cant take the amp head out. If you could...I would have ordered on NOW! However, after not being sure on the S212 because of the new rear port 'problems' (if they are actually problems that is), I have actually reserved an M212 instead that they just got in. Now thats probably more sense for me....a £349 cab thats meant to be £900+, at 4ohms. The LM3 will be a joy through that. Now I cant decided....I think if the combo was 4 ohms Id go for it....but ill never get the extension cab....
7.
From the sounds of it, that's all the stock there is... I would have loved a combo, but I've got the Walkabout Scout. Don't need one.... still want one, though.
I dont need one...but at £499...for a 2x10 with that amp built in....mmmm! Its that or the S212....but ive read some unpositive reviews on the new S212....mind you that doesnt mean a thing nowadays..could have been a duff unit.
8. Hmm Thanks guys I just had a look to see if they had a 2x10 8ohm cab to match it...seems its just 4 ohm cabs. Hmmm....I really don't know whether to just get a mega cheap 2x12 thats uber light or the 2x10 combo now! The 2x10 is a better value deal....but the 2x12 cab is 4 ohms and my LM3 would be great with it. Its also the Small version, which is what Id want ideally.
9.
The 2x10 combo is running an 8 ohm internal load, so you'd need an 8 ohm extension cab to get the 500w.
I dont understand...the info says its 4 ohms...yet it doesnt confirm it. I need to double check. Model: Puma Combo 210 Configuration: 2 x 10” TecAmp LE10-65 4 ohms THIS BIT Preamp: solid state preamp with gain, taste, lo, lomid, himid, hi, master controls, switchable mute, DI pre/post, XLR balanced DI out, 1 x effects loop, tuner out, line out, line in Power Amp: Class D amplifier, 320 w; 500 w / 4 ohms Power supply: switching power supply Cooling: high quality temperature controlled fan Tweeter: 1 x NTM-1 hi-mid speaker with double Neodym magnet system 4” cone Freq. 10.
Did anyone on here bag one of the 2x12 combos?
Im thinking of the 2x10 if its 4 ohms...itll stop me gassing for a Walkabout 1x12 for a bit
11. Am I right in thinking the combo is a 2x10 with a Puma 500 inside for £500 new?!?!?!? I hope its 4 ohm...Itll be much better for my small gigs.
12. Should i get the 2x10 combo or the 2x12 cab?!?!?!??! QUICKKKK
13. Jeeeees! Im going to have to get the cc out right now. Im not missing these prices. Are they BRAND new items....not used?
14. Forgot to add I bought a guitar amp-cab cable from Dave. Good price and excellent quality. Now ALL of my cables are OBBM.
15. If you want 4 12s, but in an easier/optional format, get two DB212s like me. Even one at 8ohms is DAMN loud, not only that, a really good tone.
16. Pics? Im pretty sure most rosewood boards have varying colours all over them, not just one consistent colour.
17.
Yeah they said I should try a head through a separate cab or two. There are so many heads to choose from though, I don't know where to start.
Whats your budget?
18. My second 09 MIA P Bass....bought from Clarky. Absolutely mint, with the option of stock guard or this black one. Awesome bridge, brilliant new style necks, very precise tuners, excellent new cases. Somehow, it sounds better than the earlier series P's that I tested.
19. Boss Tuner + sometimes the Sansamp or Tonehammer. I dont use anything else, and some small gigs I just go into the amp. I dont like to get away from the natural sound of the bass. Too many effects is just annoying.
20. Have to admit they are very nice amps. Shockingly loud and full sounding!
21. This looks awesome Dave! You have really made it you own. Id love to hear it.
22. I have both. Main difference is the Aguilar is more powerful overall. It doesnt have the Ampeg-ish type grit, it has a different style of distortion, but very very good! So...owning both is a good move. The TH is really good just as a preamp as well, and then you can whack on the grit. Both very good, TH more versatile though.
23. I have now bought another 09 Precision, this time second hand from Clarky. I had to sell my old faithful MIJ P Bass though Anyway, again, this 09 Series is great. Clarky as put TI Flats on the bass, and Im shocked at how nice they are to play. Even with flats, the Bass sounds punchy and raw, but roll back the tone and you get perfect P Bass thump to match the flats. The bridge/case are yet again brilliant. I noticed just how tight and precise the tuners are today as well. Thats a huge plus for me. This is a rosewood board, Olympic White with optional Fender black pickguard and the Tort stock as an option. Got to say, the rosewood co,lour is fantastic, and yet again the rolled fingerboard work brilliantly. Another top Fender!
24. Same as mine apart from the board.
25. USA Fender Precision 62 Reissue - white....POSSIBLY sunburst. USA Fender Jazz 75 Reissue - I want it in a colour other than natural, even though I quite like natural! Next year....I'm going to try and get them.
