I know the sort of mark up many businesses put on their cost, but I am not going down that line! I had noticed Promenade Music in Morecambe,50 miles away, had a bass I wanted desperately. On their web site I saw the price as £988, so off I trundles with £900 of folding stuff in my pocket. That's what you are gonna get boys, I will be resolute. Get's there after 1.5 hours (God bless the M6), plays it, wants to marry it. Speaks to Garry (great bloke), wanting deal. £900 in foldy stuff in my pocket. Ticket price in store is £969. Unfortunatelysays Garry, that is discounted (already £266 off) so can't go any lower. Bugger. Wish I had put another £70 in my pocket, and had read the web site properly. Too embarrased to do another 100 mile round trip and certainly won't order over internet. Shame mind. Wonder how many businesses would say no to £900 on a Saturday afternoon, handed over, no other labour /admin costs. Karl.
Ive done this a few times, and usually it works. I had a chat with Gary as well and he seems like a decent bloke. Im shocked anyone would turn down £900 for a bass without any effort (eg sending etc etc). I always think its best to make an offer on this kind of equipment.

Good pic here of a side by side photo of the two finishes...the old grey rough finish, (RS210) and the new smooth shiny black finish, (RS112). http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showpost.php...p;postcount=479
Jesus! You've already got more gear than a reasonably-stocked music shop kidda!! You gotta stop doing this, or there'll be no gear left for the rest of us!! Oh, apart from Ampeg of course!!
HAhaha, Ive calmed down now....when I see new amps/cabs, I start thinking how to buy them. I dont need any of this, despite how cool the Club Cabinets look and the NY122.....I bet they are super high prices.
You can also specify fingerboard material (Maple, rosewood, ebony, pau ferro - only on fretless) Fretless can have lined or unlined, but on fretted you always have the markers. On StingRays you can choose either the typical Ray neck, or a Sterling neck. You also have the EQ choice (2 or 3 band, and 4 band on the Bongo/Big Al/25th/Reflex) On the 'Classic' series you can specify flamed or birdseye maple, glossed or unfinished neck. Piezo is only available on single pickup models, except the Bongo. Most models are offered in 4 or 5 (or even 6) string variants. There's obviously a pickguard choice as well. There are many models out there with fancy tops, just have look.
Good summary! Im gassing for a Classic Series.
correct! got so wrapped up in how good it sounded that i forgot to take photos! seriously this is with out a doubt the loudest thing i will every play! was so loud and the master was under a quarter! the eq is so simple and effective! was nervous how the 610 would handle it! but the rig sounds sweet! andy
From what I hear, these are cracking amps....a massive step up from Ampeg
£2,085.20 just for the head Might be better of finding a used US CL for about £800 and sticking the same valves as the heritage in?
Stupid prices.

Thank god, the Rocker doesnt have the VPF...which IMO is the best knob on the Little Mark amps. This means I wont have to get one! They keep the VLE on...maybe just because of space they didnt include both, or clever marketing? Eg....buy this in addition to what you have! I like the look of the NY212, id be interested to know the pricing.
WHO? ...and your looking for this kind of band in Newcastle! A tip from a resident North Easterner; learn a bit of Thin Lizzy and Free, then Robert's your Mother's brother... you'll be a part of the NE music scene.
Hahha...nowt wrong with the Lizzy!
Pah... us young'uns are making a fair old noise around the town. Here's a couple of my friends' local noisy bands at the moment: tda and Knuckledragger. There's a healthy streak of doom going on as well... ah, there's loads of stuff. Get yerself to the Head of Steam, the Cluny or the Dog & Parrot. Lots of noise to get involved with. And not a Free cover in sight.
Cheers...im sure ill settle in. Two of the hardcore bands my old band toured with where from Newcastle...there is definitely a healthy punk/hardcore/metal scene. Cant wait to get gigging again.
It's good but I really do not get it. Its seems like something a guitar would play, it even sounds like a guitar but its played on a a bass. Why does he not just play a guitar. Please note: Not dishing old Vic, he is a superb player but I just don't get the point of this on a bass if its going to sound like a guitar.
+1....sounds like a guitar....impressive though.

Hey Just seen this: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player...tid=62004851001 If you check markbass.it, you can see some of the new products. The Little Mark Rocker seems cool, BUT....Im wondering what that drive is like. I think it will sell pretty well though. Its its exactly the same as a LM3 + good overdrive, then great Ive always stayed away from Markbass cabs, but their new Club line seems interesting for portability.
so its full output with 2 cabs and the third just spreads it evenly over the 6 drivers?
I think, although not 100%, that taking it below the 4 ohms will produce more watts, but this is only for the TC cabinets. 4ohm minimum with any other cabs.
I am almost sold on this, subject to actually playing one! also read the long thread on the us site Musicman, re the new finish, where did you pre order your cabs from? Also are they the same price as the current ones?
Hey, ill PM you about this
Nothing I hope, Gareth! I have always wanted a vintage Precision and a vintage Jazz in the classic 3TS, and I have a good CIJ Fender 70 reissue Precision (oly white of course!) for playing the seedier venues. So that is everthing sorted. I tried a 5'er but couldn't really get on with the extra string and wider neck (and didn't need it in my band anyway). Maybe one day a Tony Franklin fretless??? Now I have to learn to play the bl**dy things!
The Tony Franklin is a beauty! That would be a great addition. Id have to learn all over again though. Im still not 100% I need a 5 string. I had one when I was first starting out and never used the B, but the bass was a cheapish one, so it probably put me off. If I do go for one, its going to take some searching.

Aguilar DB751?

Brilliant Clarky...two vintage Fenders now Whats next on the list?

I think Tech 21 should have just made a VT bass that's the same layout as the BDDI! The new deluxe is just overkill for what's basically a dirt pedal. I'd still like one but I'm guessing they are quite large, eg the same size as an amp. I now have 4 versions of tube dirt, the Orange obviously wins, but the two pedals are very useful, and I will always enjoy the tone of the BDDI. Even the tubetone on the RH450 is really good, especially at getting a nice ampeg-ish warmth and dirt.

The Aguilar Tone Hammer is FANTASTIC! Not only is it a dirt pedal and DI, but it also acts as an outboard eq so you can active your passive instruments so to speak, (should you wish). Definitely give one a try if you can. Great mid control. Most the punk/metal/hardcore bands ive asked or toured with used the Sansamp BDDI or Tone Hammer.

I think its about 300W at 8 ohms, and 450W a 4 ohms. Ive no idea what happens with 3 TC cabinets. I assume its just very loud!
So,after checking this tuner out a bit more I've decided that I no longer want one .................I need to have this tuner. It's a bit awesome.
+1....im putting one on order. £75 seems to be the going price, and out in March time.
