1. I'm guessing something with a 15... Either that or a start to a new range. Or, possibly another type of 2x12.
2. Punks come a long way folks. This technical bass playing is awesome and is one of the main reasons I started seriously learning finger style a year or so ago. A WILHELM SCREAM Enjoy
3. I'm lucky to have the option to try both these options, and believe me it works either way. As the 210 would be close to your ear you would be getting the sweeter punchy high end near your ear, then the warm low and mids coupled to the floor. TC designed them so they can be mixed and matched. If 'phasing' was a serious issue, then all the manufacturers who insist on it would be making a lot more money. I can see why people prefer not to mix speaker sizes, but it really doesnt make that much difference in the real world. Basically, try if you can. If you like it, you like it.
4. Pink is a good colour, and looks classy as hell, and cool. I say go for it. Im not into gold hardware but thats me. Ive seen one of those Stingray Classics in Pink and it was stunning. Edit: Here we go PINK RAY
5. I must admit the NASH logo on the headstock is pretty cool. Good addition.

7. Hi chaps So far im really enjoying changing the parameters! I havent gigged them with the changes as yet, but plenty of rehearsals. I realise some users may not require all these extras for the RH450, but personally I think if TC release this as an option to use with the RH450, them it would attract those who really like to tweak. Ultimate flexibility! Ive been attempting to try and match the Staccato 51' (as close as I can) with what Ive heard about it and the test I had with one for a while in a store. All good fun I never once though 2-3 years ago that amps would come this far and sound this good in such a small slick package. Thanks
8.
LOL. At least its low budget GAS now. I was very saddened to find Bass Chat was blocked on the hotels WiFi all week. Just as well i had Talkbass ;-)
Thats classic. What excuse did you give when you were on talkbass whilst on holiday?!
9. Great collection!
10.
The Nova Repeater does for sure. I'm pretty sure that the Nova Delay does too.
+1 It also has the option to 'strum' instead of tap the tempo....which I prefer. I spent ages looking and realised I actually prefer digital delay, (which was a shock). I do like analog for some 'dirty' repeats and self oscillation, but I use digital for writing.
11.
Cheers Rich. Its funny but im not really a Jazz guy but i am looking forward to getting this. Probably because its so cheap i feel i have nothing to loose. A bit OT. I had one of the original JV P's. black with maple neck. I got it for £199 at the Wapping bass centre when they first came out. I never realised they were so sought after until l i took it in to the Bass centre a few years ago to get it set up. To me it was a cheap bass that had no re sell value so i had never bothered selling it and it had been in the wardrobe for years (while i was playing keys ). I ended up selling it to the BC (probably got a bit ripped off) and got my first ever Jazz with the proceeds (a HW1). EDIT: Just found out the shop i ordered from doesn't have it in stock, even though they said they do (no, its not GAK ;-). Order cancelled and ill need to look elsewhere. EDIT2: Re ordered. Ive only been back off holiday for less than 12 hours, its been hectic lol
Welcome back to GAS Dave!
12.
Thanks for all your info, it was alot of help. I scored myself a brand new Orange stack and I'm one happy plucker. It sounds awsome. I haven't got to grips with it yet, just had one band practice, with it all set flat and my Stingray set flat too is sounded amazing instantly, cranked up the gain and the dirt was sweet. Can't wait to gig with the beautiful beast.
Good choice
13. Hi all This is advice I want to redirect to a family friend who is after a decent powerful combo. So far, the main combos he has checked out are the ones offered by Markbass. He wants: Quality tone Lightweight Small footprint Aux In/Headphones I am also quite interested in the views on the Shuttle combos. The Shuttle 9.0 was not what I was looking for, but thats purely as for a head on its own, it didn't offer me what I required at the time. I look forward to your views I realise GB combos are NOT cheap, so he wants to be careful on that front. Thanks
14. I think TC have become strict on pricing, hence the RH450 amps and cabs have returned to a normal UK price
15. Just let them all DI....and dont worry about it. Its not your fault they havent got a rig.
16. Just say no. I have before. I will lend cabinets to people I trust, but thats about it. They would have to help me out.
17. Nova Repeater (TC) No nonsense, great great delay! Ive been looking for a small delay pedal with digital and analog simulation built in, and this pedal nails it. It also has some other great features. You wont get a better delay for £120. Comes with its own power supply as well. Im very happy with it and it works well for bass or guitar, (although I bought it mainly for guitar).
18.
Mark at BassDirect has all the details up: Bergantino AE212 - £829 Based on the hugely successful AE112 this vertically oriented cabinet is designed as a one cab solution for those looking for a big sound with low weight. With sparkling high end details, plenty of mid-range energy and deep low end the AE212 will deliver a huge sound in a relatively compact and easy to move cabinet. Utilising Bergantino own custom Neodymium drivers you can expect to achieve effortless and controlled sound at any volume. We suggest using a minimum of a 500w at 4ohm amp but this cab will thrive on amps of up to 1000w. Stack a second cab on top for a really massive sound where appropriate. New for 2010! Model AE212 specifications: •2 x 12" Custom Neodymium drivers with 7 oz magnets •high intelligibility 1" tweeter •custom phase - coherent crossover with tweeter level control •power handling - 600 watts rms •frequency response: 40hz - 18khz •sensitivity: tbc db @ 1 Watt/1 meter •2 x 1/4" and 2 x neutrik connectors •impedance: 4ohms •dimensions: 31"H x 18-1/2"W x 15"D •78cm x 47cm x 38cm •weight: 55lbs/25 Kgs •This cab works well with high power amplifiers from 500 - 1000w at 4Ω
This cab looks excellent, and Id like one. Buttt, the weight/size factor for me is making me second think it. I wanted this to be super portable and lighter than my RS212 and it isnt....damn! I suppose it will sound awesome though. Back to the drawing board. MBass NY122 4 Ohm might be the answer.
19.
I am thoughly enjoying my recently acquired Nash JB-63. Such a great, worn-in feeling instrument. BassDirect are going to stock them (4 on order) but until Mark gets them in, here's another site (a German one) which stocks some nice examples for you to peruse. There's a very Pino-ish 63-PB amongst them. And for the anti-fake Fender brigade, they are now using 'NashGuitars' as the headstock decal. http://www.station-music.de/index.html
Nice!
20. Sorry to derail the topic! I agree on the not being certain front. Me thinks Mesa and the UK distributor must get a pretty fair cut. Hmm
21.
Their policy (TC's) in the US seems to be to replace warranty returns. Once repaired the returned units are then sold to dealers to resell as B grade units with a healthy discount. Presumably Panic Music do the same?
I've no idea. Put it this way, after speaking to TC themselves I'm very happy with their customer service. Their amps are good prices for what you get, as are the cabinets. Mesa are great, but the UK prices are just plain silly.
22. I mean no offence by this, but ive heard of a lot more failures with Mesa products than I have TC. We pay through the nose here for Mesa, and yes its amazing, but we get the raw deal price wise. My TC amp had some minor problems after 4 months and I got a brand new unit, no messing about.
23. Its finding the right 12" that isnt overpriced that is my own personal annoyance....
24.
I like Guitar Guitar, but I do think they need to overhaul their bass selection. It's a bit middle of the road, and the top line bass stuff just seems to be Ricks and high end jazz basses. I'd like to see them get some cooler stuff in to match their awesome guitars.
They do have a great shop in Newcastle, I must admit (and I realise they have expanded so business must be great!). All Ive noticed is their pricing seems quite a lot more than everywhere else. Eg a Stingray is £1300 from them, whereas elsewhere in Newcastle its £1169. They must have a fantastic business plan as theyve managed to be the No 1 Sadowsky importer, and they have the Lakland importing contract. The store here has a LOT of super Jazzes in stock, and some cool Aguilar/TC/Phil Jones bits n pieces. I am also spoilt as their guitar stock is phenomenal; customer shop Fender Strats/Teles everywhere. Ive only bought one cab from them and some guitar effects/power supply. Great service and when the power supply had a problem they gave me a new one no problem.
25. I went in to their Newcastle store today and had a look. The Suhrs seem awfully expensive for the overall 'look'. Some of the Sadowsky's are very pretty though. They must be doing very well, despite their high pricing, as they seem to be stocking a LOT of high end basses/guitars. Some of it I would not have on general 'shop' display if im honest. They also had the new TC lower priced 1x15 combo....its a great price if im honest but its HUGE! Great if you are on a budget
