1.
But they are more expensive, aren't they?
2009 was a limited white year, and it was the same price for my guitar PPC212. Nice looking cab It was the same price as the Orange versions.
2.
And as I liked the Orange head so much I took the plunge with the matching cab! Screamingly good fun and really punches out the tone!
CUTE! Love it
3.
Thanks mate. Since this thread wound up my main stack has become the shuttle with two bergantino ae210's and I can honestly say...'I'm happy with my amp"
Glad Apparently once you fathom the odd input on the 9.0 and open the volume up (eg half way on Markbass is almost all of your volume, whereas Genz amps keep on giving right upto full) it starts to shine
4.
... shuttle... I'm guessing? quite a difference in weight from your tc stuff to your orange!
Yeah....and ive just realised I may as well just buy a Shuttle 9.0 and have a fiddle with both for a few months. I am an amp hoarder! We shall see.
All these great items not selling hurts my feelings, if I had the cash though I'd have this. Free bump
Cheers, and agreed.
5.
Hardly revolutionary though G Hipshot, Schaller, etc. have been making superb bridges for ages, Fender ignored them until a couple of years ago.
Agreed, its about time they got it right. I do think its a nice design though. Im not keen on some of the other higher mass bridges, and its comfy to resr your little finger around if picking near the bridge.
6.
i've been looking at the shuttle 9 with a view to buying so very interested to read related opinions
Well...Ive tried to avoid a 9.0, but I want to try one again. Argh.
7. Had a few PM's already, and replied, still here. A picture of the cab is here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?act=attach...st&id=44974
8. I sold my TU-2 to buy the TC Polytune. Its apparently more accurate (I think the same as the TU-3) and basically because I quite like the TC designs and how slick their pedals are. Its also very small and has two tuning modes.
9.
i don't think I have anything of interest to you, so just asking out of curiosity. But what sort of different thing would you be after?
Hi! I THINK im looking for a different flavour of lightweight amp....
10. Hmm, now Ive no idea how far to stretch this back! What one piece of you bass or amp/cab do you think is just genius engineering? I think kudos to Fender for the new 08 onwards bridges. They dont look out of place, yet they are a fantastic upgrade. Musicman truss rod wheel of fortune. Speakons. Lightweight amps.
11. Just to help out, these hardcases are the BEST hardcases Ive ever seen/used in my life. Super super strong, excellent latches, great soft interior, and not that heavy. If you are after a high end gig bag, the Mono M80 is really impressive.
12. Yeah, they are advertising them at their peak wattage...which is a clever scheme! Thos Shuttle cabinets are supposedly SUPER nice, but dont crank that 9.0! PS - How are you getting on with the 9.0?
13. Most of them round here have Ashdown. To be fair, Ive had some really good sessions and sounds with the Ashdown gear, and I think its the lower end gear. Then again I have ear plugs in!
14. 1600?!?!?!?!?!?
15. Well, I knew eventually the Jazz would bite me back. I sold one on for my incoming bits and pieces, and possibly to get a rosewood J (Im much happier on a rosewood board now). I tried to put the Jazz off, tried to pretend I didnt want one. Do I need one? No. Do I consider a Jazz to be a bass most players should own at some point? Yes. Why? Sound. So now Im hunting down a 3TS/Rosewood 2010 Jazz. No other colour this time, I want the colour that I think works on a Fender Jazz, which is 3TS. I did find the MIA 2008 Jazz a little skinny near the nut, BUT, Im kind of forcing myself to admit if I want a modern Fender Ive got to have the neck how it is. Nearer the body its fantastic...
16. Er...I dont know any girls that pretty who play bass/guitar. WHY!?!
17.
Rickenbackers. So many improvements can be made and they have stubbornly stuck to a design that has never known an engineer. I think that is where Fender has it, Leo was an engineer and not a musician.
+1 If they evolved Rickenbackers I would own one. In the current state, I just couldnt see myself sticking with it. Re: MM battery covers. I agree the chrome looks nice, but I think the plastic ones with the flip section are much easier to use.
18. The single coil right on the neck on the EBMM Big Al is NOTHING but creamy and thumpy with nice definition, probably because its a single coil and a neodymium pickup. It sounds fantastic.
19. Condition seems a bit of an issue...
20. Just googled this lot...WOW...seriously low prices!
21. Im interested to know the specs...definitely. Colours? Hardcase? Pickup spacing? etc
22. I may have to move one of these on to allow space for new gear. I don't want to really, as for the price these cabinets really are superb. You all know the specs, and you know what they look like. I have the original packaging, etc. Comes complete with an official RS210 cover. These cabinets are light, punchy, and have a great vintage meets modern voicing. Great smooth clear high end due to the dual-concentric placement of the HF driver. This is obviously on a dial so you can have old school thump or a sweeter layer of treble. There is no 'cheap' sounding plasticky tweeter in these cabinets, which is why I like them so much. Immaculate condition, never driven hard. This is the latest cabinet line with the smooth finish similar to the Berg AE line. Id prefer local pickup as just lately im hardly home for couriers, but this can be looked into. £360 all in ONO. I may withdraw this if I can re-arrange my bass gear in a more compact fashion! 23. Keeping this up for one more day...then ill just keep it.
24. I dont really think the cabs are wooly, but ive barely used them. They do seem very loud, very mid focussed (I dont mind that at all) and extremely well built. Those speakers can take a hell of a wallop as well. Crazy to watch how much they move.
25. Much better w/o the plate
