TBH, I'm a bit surprised about the negativity shown in the above comments, or is BC turning into a forum for bedroom slappers who think the world owes them a living just because they know one end of a bass from the other?
LOL. I can see why an age limit my annoy people, but then again, Ive seen much worse requirements. Image is image, and some bands thrive on an image. I realise thats not what music is about, but the world is fickle and vain.
It's not helping my Bongo GAS at all. Not one bit. Great playing, well done
Me neither. I want one. I feel I need to own at least one of each EBMM. ARGHHH

What I like is that youve managed to create a really nice 'vintage' sound with that bass. I keep hearing how good they are....I really need to try one.

I was considering a break, not from bass, but from bands. Ive has some right problems with bands recently, but my originals band is going pretty well. My only issue is we dont seem to have that 'push' to get to a level im happy with. I think thats mainly because we are a busy lot...nothing down to our ability. We will, eventually, get there. If that doesnt work out....ill stay in touch with them, and just advertise....but probably have a good 6-9 month break from being messed about.

5 String bass? Purchase has been made!
Musicman20 replied to stingrayPete1977's topic in Bass Guitars
Proof will be in the pudding but going to 5 isnt feeling like an issue after one full night of staying with it rather than just for the songs I need it for. In fact Im a bit upset at the thought of not wanting to use any of my 4's after I get one, Keep an eye in the FS for a nice EBMM
Woah, dont sell your 4s. Im in the camp that believes you can have a few of each....certain styles suit certain basses that I use much better than others. Eg Id much rather use a P Bass or Ray 4 in a normal punk context with a pick, than a Ray 5. As soon as we are talking fingerstyle, and say something like funk, then you could definitely use a 5er. I just treat them as totally different instruments. -
The whole form factor is great. I dont need one but nice gear all the same

I need to be in a more busy band....it would take my mind of changing around! More Stingrays! Never Actually, I would if I had the money.

Although not strictly a signature bass, the guitar version is. So, the EBMM Big Al: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/attachment...y-p1020366a.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31lo8FtvE9L.jpg I usually never gel with odd shapes, but that bass said 'buy me' the minute I saw it. Passive single coils/tone control with additional active 4 band EQ and pickup selection?! Oh yes. I tried it as well. Liked it even more over a few days.
Yup. £1450 + £40 postage. I got what I was asking. I hanged on to it until the right buyer came along willing to pay what I believe was the right price Thanks... I am supposed to get my first new Dingwall by end of Jan / beg Feb, so Sheldon said... "Your bass is started. Your build is too early in the process to make any valuable predictions on but I'm guessing end of January or early Feb."
Cool, New Years Present! I think thats a fantastic price for both you and the buyer.

I need to re-read this thread and stop myself indulging in more amps. I KNOW ill end up prefering what I already have. Time to stop.
Well it's now week since my bass was despatched on a 24hr service from Moffat. Interparcel are saying that it's down to UPS and their tracking shows it's been sitting in a UPS warehouse for 6 days. Alan and I keep trying to get answers from Interparcel but they just refuse to answer any emails so I don't know what is happening or when it will be delivered. Because they used UPS as the carrier Interparcel think they can absolve themselves of all responsibility. We are housebound just in case it comes as the last thing I want is for it to go back to the warehouse again. All I can do is look at the pictures that Alan sent me and imagine what it will like to play. I will never ever use Interparcel for any of my shipments. as there isn't an emoticon for "bloody furious".
Heck, I feel your pain! I think the problem is, almost all couriers are rubbish, nearly all the time. Very frustrating when you consider their actual job is to deliver, and thats it.

This isnt helping BONGO GAS
If any of you Geordie BC'ers would like to have a blast with my Vintage, just PM me. As I am currently only rehearsing every three weeks so the big feller is champing at the bit to be used!! Tone-wise, it's very like the compact - just bigger and more of it (as some of you will recall from our mini-bash a few weeks ago).
Very kind of you sir! I think if there is a bass bash it would interesting to see the tonal differences between this and my current favourite Aguilar DB212. Bass is still safe as well...

1962 Fender Precision (real) NOW SOLD.
Musicman20 replied to The Bass Doc's topic in Basses For Sale
Sorry to hear about the crappy financial situation I guess you've looked after the bass, now its time for the bass to repay. Regards the bass; I think I better go sleep on it. I have some crazy ideas that would get me in trouble. I'm not sure what impulsive moves I might make if this is still available in the morning... Edit: only live once...PM'd
Go for it. STUNNING colour....but I hope things get sorted for you. What a shame to let it go. -
No Problems, basschat is lucky to have someone like you deciding who is worthy and who is not I am but a humble bass playing western australian reaching out into the unknown to comunicate with other bass players, perhaps to glean a little wisdom that i am lacking
Welcome Howard!

5 String bass? Purchase has been made!
Musicman20 replied to stingrayPete1977's topic in Bass Guitars
Stingray or Sterling 5. Without a doubt with your love for Rays you will love the modern 5 ers they make. It took me months to choose, and wow did I make the right decision. For £1300-£1400 you can have a very sw***y model, eg HS/HH and upgraded guard. -
Nice playing and nice bass!

My absolute limit is 8...and thats being ridiculous I realise! I have 7 (well some on order still) so room for one more Fender
