1. I have a hankering for a BC Rich bass.....purely on aesthetics i love the shapes. I know there are those on BC that love them and also those that are none too keen so i wondered what everyone's thoughts on them were?
2.
You can ask them about it on their Facebook page too. https://www.facebook.com/laneyamplification?fref=ts Start off by simply stating the issue and asking if they can help rather than having a moan at them as others will be more likely to support you if you're seen as given the company a fair chance at resolving it.
I just liked their page.....and available to respond in shocked amazement when you need me. Good luck
3. Use twitter as well.....social media can be very useful. It's amazing how quickly manufacturers reply and defend themselves on there. I am @maybin6 and @spirit_ot_age add me and i'll jump into the conversation stating how i am shocked to hear how bad you have been treated..... People power ;-)
4. I like the area, am a Londoner and visit regularly.....i have signed
5.
And the PA situation, because we're looking to head on cruise ships rather than be a band on land, I'm not overly interested in investing in one just for a few months, sadly. I do get that it would help immensely to have one though!
You could consider hiring a PA when required.....just to give you the initial jumpstart you need.
6.
One last bump for tonight...
How was your gig and what was the venue like?
7. Not my band but we played a gig the other night and one of the bands set up on stage said "We have no drummer tonight he's been sectioned and the bass player just refused to play" 😯 They still played a good set though 😊
8.
Unashamed Prisoner fan! Also partial to a bit of tie dye. Not that I actually boil up tee shirts on the cooker any more. Can you even still buy clothes dye?
I love the Prisoner ☺ And its sooo much easier to buy tie dye online than make it 😯
9.
Well me too, as it happens! Be seeing you!
Hehe me too.....👌 be seeing you P.S. I have pinstripes if needed lol
10. I have both Snark and Korg clip on tuners and i have one bass that they'll never tune the E string on for some reason. I prefer the oldschool type tuners. I also use PitchLab Lite on my phone too.
11. A couple of pics of me from recent gigs.....i'm quite partial to tie dye
12. Wunjo have a HB4 in at the moment.....tempted!
13. Kevvo, personally i now prefer the sound and tone of short scale instruments and with those available nowadays there's lots of choice.
14. I love short scale basses, they sound really good giving lots of low down tone imo. The lower string tension makes for a more comfortable play too. All down to taste of course. I have two shorties, both budget instruments - A Gretsch Electromatic and an Epiphone Allen Woody Signature and both do the job admirably.
15.
You and your employer are probably doing something wrong, and you need to sort it out quick. No reason you should be getting upper limb disorders from DSE work. Tell me how your computers are set up and on what, what you do on them, and how many breaks you take. Have you had a medical diagnosis?
I agree with this.....i am a DSE assessor and most stations can be set up to avoid this. It is also essential that you see your GP and maybe seek some Physio. All the best.....Paul
16. Made a few cock ups in my gig Saturday night on bass but my singing was okay.....i was thinking everyone heard but infact they probably didn't as the feedback we got was great 😕Strange innit
17. I've just had my ears tested and actually they're in much better condition than i thought they would be. I will be definitely looking to get ear plugs for rehearsals to protect what i thought was already damaged hearing 👂
18. On the 4th October my Hawkwind tribute band Spirit of the Age are supporting Pink Floyd tribute Just Floyd at the Plough & Harrow Leytonstone High Rd, Leytonstone London E11. Music will start around 8.15pm and Just Floyd will do two sets. Just google the Plough & Harrow Leytonstone for more details. Should be a good night of space rock.
19. Try googling Forest Gap (gigs in Forest Gate E7) and The Plough & Harrow (gigs in Leytonstone E11) both easy going venues worth a look at.

PSU question

I use the power supply from my Zoom B2.....dunno if that helps but i believe they are the same as Boss. Check the polarity on the psu diagram on the casing and check on the pedal if they are the same?
21. I do like the Shortscales.....some great basses shown here.
22. I work over that way so it may be handy thanks for the info
