1. Gumtree is a useful site but be careful because a lot of grumpy bastard's read it.....lol ;-)
2. Pity you're not travelling via London mate.....mind you i doubt this would fit in your case lol
3. Have a bump on the basis that if i was closer i'd have had this off of you.....just a bit too far i'm affraid GLWTS
4.
Another vote for Wunjo, there is a reason they have gone from one shop to three in a short space of years, quality service.
I was in there yesterday.....it was very busy in all the shops but they still had time to speak to me and get the lead i wanted. Oh and it was two quid cheaper than anywhere for the same lead. They're pretty good imho
5.
+1. Good customer service is all-important. It's not rocket surgery.
Agree on both counts here.
6. BC, As an infrequent gigger i need to pick up an amp that is transportable (dodgy back) and that won't break the bank either. Some of the venues PA's we use aren't up to a di so i have been looking at combo's with a bit of Oooomph. So looking at the Fender i think it fits the bill but is there anyone out there with an opinion on this amp? Your input as ever is appreciated. Cheers.....Paul
7.
Could be grounding problems on the house electric instalation or a simple interference with a device using the same power branch (kitchen appliances, light bulbs, etc.). Try it in a different room and when possible on a different house just to make sure that the amp is fine.
In some areas the type of electricity earthing arangements change and depending on type or your locality can mean the earthing of your property is what is called 'dirty' as there are lots of little spikes and earthleakage on the supply. We have this problem sometimes when we rehearse as our studio is in railway arches under railway lines with 25 Kilo Volt overhead line equipment. The noise levels literally change with the weather.
8. I am tempted by these tiny combos. What are the 2x8's like cranked right up?
9. My brother is our drummer.....sets up and just gets on with it. Has had all forms of drumming lessons and training from the age of 14.....probably the only real musician in our band and personally i think he could have turned Pro. Oh and the kit has got smaller and smaller over the years which is nice :-)
10. Our drummers kit has got less and less over the years.....used to have two floor toms and extra tom toms on the kit.....now he can't be bothered.....which is nice :-)
11. I have rehearsals Monday.....always a great buzz and a laugh and i am looking forward to it.
12. Without experiences such as this how would we ever learn? ;-)
13. Can he fit all that lot it the back of the Transit?
14. I prefer the Spinal Tap type cocoon entrance.....with hammer and oxy acetyline on standby.
15. Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters by Robert Calvert
16. There must be a local ish band that wants to play on the Summer Solstice...... Good luck filling the slot.
17. All this leaning and hunching.....isn't good for your back you know. I prefer venues that have mobility access ramps nowadays.....that way the band can wheel me in and out on a trolley.
18. It's all about the correct stance.....
19.
Just make sure that it's coiled the right way - i should go the same way as a screw thread. - Obviously if you're playing in the southern hemisphere you'll need to use one which is coiled the other way.
Point noted...... I will check using Fleming's right and left hand rules. :-))
20. Thanks for all the replies.....i picked up a Vox coiled lead today in Denmark St so will give it a whirl.
21.
Is there a danger of these pinging out of your amp under tension and twonking you in the nuts?
Only if i ever get to play on a stage big enough to put the lead under that much tension lol
