1. Good people of BC.....please could you let me know your experiences of coiled leads? Having broken a couple of jack plugs on my normal leads by standing on them, and worried that at some point i'll damage the input jack on the amp i'm thinking of trying the aforementioned leads. Any thoughts on which is the best or indeed worst? I have read good n bad about them. Cheers Paul
2. Is setting up a di channel through the bands PA not an option? I would have thought it would be much easier to adjust your sound in the mix rather than add your own stand alone cab. I know you want control of you sound but surely once you adjust your sound through the desk it is only volume levels that will need adjusting on the desk. Just my 2p worth...... :-)
3. Get someone to drop you to rehearsal and pick you up afterwards. If there isn't enough room in the car for the other person get them a cab home and treat em to a kebab.
4. That is a work of art created by a true artisan of the craft.
5. He asked you back.....can't have been that paranoid.
6. "Asbestos walls" I normally find these halls bring a tickle to my throat......particularly if it's a loud P.A. and backline making all the dust fly around.....
7. Fishing scales hooked (geddit) around the headstock or a machine head.
8. Congrats......who needs a laptop anyway......oh you did lol
9. A flowjet cutter can be bought for around £50K if that helps? ;-)
10. JHS could make a good few quid if they offered replacement scratchplates on their Vintage range. I had to replace mine (V96) which a friend cut for me in brass on a flowjet. A lot of b locks for a scratchplate though.
11. I'm exhausted just reading these replies lol
12. I prefer the Doom Metal that came along a little later based on the original Sabbath type music......Candlemass were great with Messiah Marcolin on vocals.
13. Definitely an adrenaline thing.....fight or flight. The body uses a massive chunk of energy and adrenaline on gig night then replenishes the next day.
14.
Copies aren't difficult to detect - they don't have Shure written on them! Counterfeits do.
Agreed however a poor choice of words on my part.....my main point is that the counterfeit quality is improving so much more difficult to tell apart from the real thing.
15. Whilst all that growly stuff was going on i was listening to Mercyful Fate and King Diamond......just saying lol
16. Working on the basis that i have a Maplin cheapy mic made in the PRC that i've used for sometime and that appears to be very comparable to the Shure SM58 in sound then it seems that most copies nowadays are becoming difficult to detect......
17. You have a pm tonewheels.....get back to me please. Get back to me please
18. Hi well i'm in East London and the Guitarist South London and my brother on drums lives out of London now.....so all over really. We rehearse in Holloway Rd or London Bridge....more than happy for you to come along although our next rehearsal is Tuesday 27th..... Drop me a pm and we can chat. Cheers Paul
19. 503 may be the body type of the capacitor or the rating. If it is the rating it will be 0.050 uF (micro farads) which is outside of the suggested range and probably the reason for the naff sound.
20. From the cursory examination i have made of the cab via your picture i believe it to predate Christianity and be of more Pagan origin.....
21. Life is so short that we should play whatever we want.....a little bit of what you fancy always does you good ;-)
22. Mendacious is my new favourite word.....
23. Been in both kinds of bands and am currently in a Tribute band. Happy with either tbh.
