1.
That's cruel - I'm going to have to report you - cruelty to Roadstars isn't on lol
I will embark on a mercy rescue mission.....i promise!
2. A few (dodgy photographer) pics of my new aquisition. I'm very pleased with it.....and it's got Gretsch written on it so that's a bonus! ;-)
3. I'm ashamed to say that my Roadstar is in my loft......somewhere. A lovely blue burst with cream coloured bindings. I must dig it out.....but i'm very lazy :-/
4. I'll take a few pics laters and post them up here. My one is the twin pup tobacco sunburst.
5. So.....i wanted a short scale bass as a back up and went out today, i now have a Gretsch Electromatic Jet Bass. I am really impressed with the quality for a budget instrument. It is very playable and finished really well. Only playing it will bring out it's foibles but it seems like a nice little bass to me for a couple of hundred quid :-)
6. The two guys that work in the Wunjo Bass Centre are really helpful and know their stuff.....been in there a few times and have been impressed.
7. A good bass that can be used way way past beginners stage in my opinion and a decent price too.
8. As someone with a dicky ticker too (i'm 42) speak to your Cardiologist at length before you flog all this lot. You'll be amazed what you can still do even if you think you can't.....just my two penneth and if sale is the only way Good Luck but better luck with the health!!!
9. @highwayone.....I'm a bass player that knows f##k all about bass so don't worry about that lol
10.
When im pain, seek medical advice. The internet doesn't know you like your physician does.
The problem is that doctors very rarely treat pain with anything other than painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs.....doesn't get to the root cause of the pain though.
11. ^^^^ good post.....i do this stuff all the time to avoid my neck and shoulders virtually locking up and it does ease aches and pains.
12. Nope.....should but i don't. And since joining this forum i'm starting to worry that there's an awful lot i don't know :-((
13. I suffer from lots of neck pain nowadays after playing for a while.....the bass aggravates the arthritis in my neck (getting on a bit now syndrome lol) so a change of strap or stance may assist.....i'd be interested to know??
14. This is a really nice looking bass.....shame i'm a bit skint or i'd snap it up! If i come into a few quid shortly i'll drop you a line :-)
15. Bruce Foxton Ian Hill Phil Lynott John Entwistle Geezer Butler Alan Davey Roly Wynne Herbie Flowers Lemmy Steve Harris
16. Out of all the members on this forum is there not a Solicitor that can advise? (I'm new here and have no intention of reading back through all the threads).
17.
Hi both, I teach and am based in south east London if this is of any interest to you? Very useful to know :-) http://basschat.co.uk/topic/180288-bass-tuition-available-in-south-east-london
18. I have found all the Vintage instruments great value for money and very playable imo
19. I think if i had the money to buy the instruments i wanted it would initially be great to start collecting them.....but in reality unless you can have 1000's of pounds of basses sitting around doing nothing most of the time then it's great. The best bass that i have had and loved playing todate was an old early Squier JB so not expensive at all which i sold when i was skint :-( I'd love a Ricky but don't have the £'s so have just carried on with my old Ibanez and a Vintage that i have.....in the scale of things they are no means top drawer examples of the instrument but are both quite playable for me at my level. But if i win the lottery....watch this space lol
20. Hope an East London tutor replies to this as it would be very useful for me too..... Last time i played bass before picking it up again the Internet didn't exist.....lol
21. I'm fairly lucky in the fact that the band i'm in is a Hawkwind Tribute.....pretty much anything goes especially leather flying helmets and goggles, Maybe Turkish trousers on occasion or sometimes even t-shirts and jeans......but it really is horses for courses depending on the seriousness of the band you are in.
22. I sometimes wear a Fez......does that count as making an effort?
