1. Seasick Steve could build a great instrument out of that timber.
2. Dear 'All' F¥€k$ given equate to exactly 'ZERO'
3. A broken heart and a broken arm.....that's song writing material right there!
4.
It has to be left on a dressed set at nights for about three weeks. If the crew all know it's a dummy it won't get nicked. I know dummy rigs are out there, I've used them on photo shoots and music promos in the past. I never rented them myself for any of those.
Most sets i've ever worked on have security day and night. Normally both for television and for films.
5.
I have a cunning plan. Why not just rent a real one and turn the volume down to 0? It's radical but I think it might just work
This doesn't read as sarcasm to me.
6. I like to play Johann Sebastion Bach's Toccata.....probably not how he'd wish to hear it played though lol. But basically because you can play the scales all over the neck and not because i am a virtuoso musician haha.
7. My manager would never have a go at me whether in front of customers or not. He just calls me Mr Senior Shop Steward and asks if i would like a cup of tea. 😉 P.S. apologies i digress
8. Thats a good find which makes it all the nicer!
9. Thats lovely looking with its ample curves 😉
10. Not the best pics i'm affraid. Pewter colour is nice and i like the body shape. The balance of the bass feels good
11. So as i work all around London for the last few days i've had to walk through Central London and always walk down Denmark St if i get a chance to see what's basses are on show. A couple of days back i noticed in Wunjo's window a Pewter coloured Yamaha TRBX 305.....anyway today i finally decided to give the 5 a whirl having never played one before in my life. First up i tried a 4 string TRBX 504 as i was still putting off picking up a 5 stringer.....but finally i did and wow what an array of sounds this Yamaha has. The active electrics with five position switch, bass and treble and pup balance give a really wide range of sounds from this instrument. I had a good look over it and first impressions are it looks very well made with a comfortable neck and not too heavy at all. Tom & Tom were very helpful as always even saying to me that if i don't get on with the 5 string that i could bring it back and they'd order in the 4 for me. Wunjo's really are on the button when it comes to customer service. The bass seems great and i am going to persevere with 5 strings, i am also now a Yamaha owner which is more or less the same as joining a secret society lol. Wish me luck......
12. Customer service is normally immediately apparent. Wunjo's are imho #1 bar none and clearly Anderton's fell very short on this occasion. They will lose out in the long run with this kind of service.
13.
Thanks a lot for the help people. The condition makes phases of symptoms rather sporadic and hard pin down to one specific thing. I have neurological tests and they all came back inconclusive (they took my blood 39 times!) and so they said it would be hard to properly know what to do. I will definitely look into the short-scale stuff and the string gauge is a quick fix thing. I didn't even think about the action to be honest and it is rather high at the moment so that is another thing. To the physio's it is! Cheers
Again (and this doesn't help) but the exact same for me. Tons of blood tests Brain and Cervical Spine MRI's and a CT Scan.....NOWT! 😐 Anyway physio and beta blockers were given to me as the way to a cure.....lol we will see. Btw short scale basses are cool! Good luck
14. I can empathise as i have a neurological medical problem too. It is definitely worth trying to get an appointment with the Consultant Neurologist and probably the Physio too. The Consultant can suggest changes to medication that may greatly assist with this. From experience doctors tend to evaluate medications over a period of time so its best that you tell them. They can prescribe allsorts that may assist including muscle relaxents and beta blockers etc. Best Wishes and hope this helps.
15. Saw them on the same bill as Hawkwind in around 1990.....wow was that a cosmic night, i don't think the blue & pink strobes stopped for over two hours 😨
16. My father in law has dementia and it really does take a lot of learning and patience for a carer. Literally you could have an identical conversation 10 mins apart and it wouldn't be remembered but ask him to sing a Johnny Cash or Marty Robins song and it'll be word perfect. There must be more effort and resource put into find a cure for this illness.
17.
I let the two Les Pauls go in 1980 when I packed in playing which lasted ten years, big regrets.
I really want the white EB.....Gibson should sell them in that colour nowadays!
18. I really love this bass but can only manage to offer a bump at the mo.
19.
New username time, JazzPete1977? lol
Just to cover all your bas(s)e's why not JazzRayPete1977 lol 😉
20. If i could find a short scale in any of these it would be excellent, but i fear there are very few ss BC Rich'
21. That Warlock with the reverse headstock looks cool. I must admit to liking the Widow headstock though.
