2. PM's replied, still here at the moment: I've had quite a bit of interest on my bass so will put this info up on the thread too: Year: 2008 Made in Korea, Designed in USA - Skyline model Pick ups - Lakland Condition - pretty much pristine, couldn't see any dinks when just checking it over. Weight: 11lbs, 4oz on my scales. Frets are perfectly level to my eye, no pitting etc...usual top Lakland quality from that era Action is low, I think it may go slightly lower still but the action is very comfortable for me. No issues with truss rod or neck, no string buzzes, good string balance. Hardware all in perfect working order. It's pretty much perfect, like new....even have original price tag in the softcase of £1050. Extra pics: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sa8owvb24uunp2u/AAA2GMPVITEcZXB9rPAqTmVaa I'm based in Plymouth Devon, not very mobile as very recently became a daddy again and also in middle of house move. Can courier and if preferred send in a Gator hard case for extra £50 (although the Gator case has some edge chipping damage but has been tapped and functions more than adequately) Thanks, Lee

6. Looks superb, how much did it cost?
7. Get a Farida P bass and thank me later, awesome quality for the money. I have one, Ash body too and I even prefer it to my mates Fender P
8.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't empt me!! of cash, or tempt me, damn keyboard...
...of course welcome to try first ....and if the Warwick cab is 8ohm then i'd definitely be interested
9.
ha I am, but i've survived one round with the wife, don't fancy going another! Unless you fancy a 411 warwick swap?
Haha no pressures I could be tempted by the Warwick cab and some cash my way perhaps?
10. OoOoh, and I've just put my 8x10 up for sale (shameless plug)
11. ...or I may sell my mint Ampeg fridge 8x10 to a fellow Devonian as I don't envisage using it that much due band taking another hiatus
12.
The f3 of a Fridge is 58Hz, and few complain about lack of lows. Raggae has the deepest tone of mainstream genres, and to hear it one might conclude that most of its energy is in the 40-80Hz octave, but actually it's in the 80-160Hz octave.
Yes I used my Fridge for the first time at a festival gig with a reggae band yesterday, certainly had good enough lows for me. The main factor was maintaining those lows, with definition when getting into dub territory, and at higher volumes and the Fridge handled that well. I've had cabs that go very low with ports etc but as said above the energy appears to be at 100hz for me for the low end and the Fridge did this nicely without sounding too wooly and handling the low B too. Bloody heavy beast though...well according to the festival roadies at least (Will probably be up for sale end of summer )
13. Carvin are worth a look
14.
Nice one mate, look forward to hearing how you get on! They are very well built aren't they, my Mi10s are solid as hell A single Mi10 would be fine for a small acoustic gig and is a treat for home practice, but I reckon it'd struggle in a 7 piece soul band. 2 X Mi10s would be just fine though. I find I have to push the low end a little with the smaller cabs, certainly when using just one, so the Mi12 must put out a nice thick natural amount of bass Eude
Well gigged the Mi 12" last night. It seemed to have a lot more in the mid range than my Genz 2x12, not as smooth sounding but then it is a much cheaper cab. It didn't struggle to keep up with my soul band at all, in fact it admirably surprised a few band members who thought it looked 'too small' and would therefore fart out. As i say it wasn't as smooth as i would have liked but then i think a bit of time to eq things on my amp may sort that. Also perhaps its not as light as i would have liked either (memories of a light Markbass 15") but all in all not a bad cab. I'm tempted to try a 10" if i can save some pennies again, perhaps put the 12" with it for a modular rig.
15. Been digging the James Brown grooves today, sex machine, Payback etc. Finally can justify the Detuner on my jazz for Too funky in here - funkerb
16. I've joined the party late and taken delivery of a Mi12 cab today for my 'small rig'. First impressions are they're built very well, looks ascetically good, and the sound is pretty good....although at living room volumes I'm not blown away like i was with my Genz 2x12 but then this is a smaller cab. I am getting great low end using my Genz Streamliner 900 into it, have had to tame the lows on the amp though. The cab is a little heavier than i was hoping, perhaps should have read the specs in more detail but it is a 1 hand carry...just wouldn't want to carry it too far. Not sure if the 10" would have been better for lightness, but then is a 1x10" really giggable with a 7 piece soul band? I shall put the Mi12 through its paces Saturday at a smaller pub type gig before i consider the cabs future...all in all though not bad for £199 thus far.
17. Glad the Carvins are catching on, still loving my BX1500. Oodles of power and versatility
18. ...and once again another cab billed as a 'fridge killer' (my arse) - why not a Berg or Hartke killer eh??? . Bit like the laborious anti iPhone salesmanship i.e. the iPhone serial killers aka Samsung etc. Having owned a previous 'fridge killer' cab I have to say the weight was of course the big difference that suits many, but certainly not killing the sound at all - far from it in my opinion. I now own a fridge and an iPhone (old one)...I'm not precious about them but great to have the benchmarks that most compare their products against.
19. In my bid to finally owning a small, medium & large rig I'm just waiting on a Mi 12 - £199 from Andertons, mid May delivery. Getting one for the small rig, lighter set up, smaller gigs and rehearsals etc. Will use my GB STL900 with it so hoping it will sound alright, obviously at lower volumes ... Also hoping GAS will be cured for sometime too
20. +1 for Carvin, not sure on the newer amps but the tube is switchable on /off on my BX1500. The amp is very light too. Versatile beast and very clean sounding - complete opposite to my Streamliner which is most wooly and vintage sounding IMO of course
21.
My main bass at the moment is a one of a kind Farida 5 string jazz. Excellent bass, solidly built, plays and sounds lovely.
Wow that sounds interesting, didn't know they did a 5..was it custom built? Better still any pics?
22.
Definitely a darkish tort plate needed.
...and finally done by the genius Bass Doc pick up changed for SD trad SB1, sounding smooth and plays fantastic with the jazz width neck. Highly recommend these P Farida's (on the right of course)
23. More tort genius from the tort genius master, top work as always and is a priceless member of this community - thanks Howard
