1. Yeah, not heard from the guy yet though
2. I used to own a boss SY synth stomp box, tbh i never used it a lot because i thought the tracking and sounds were limited although i'd love to try the Markbass or Moog synth...but somewhat out my pricing. Thats interesting what you said about the ME50B drop outs, someone else mentioned that when i was reading up.
3. Well this new world of effects is proving to be quite an adventure so far. I've got an old school classic Boss ME6B which i bought off here recently and i must say i'm really impressed with the sounds for the things i would like to try, namely the synth sounds/filters etc. Anyway my dilemma is i am getting drawn towards an ME50B due to having access to the dials easily for changing parameters on the fly, also it has a buitl in expression pedal unlike the ME6B.....if i keep the ME6B then i will soon buy a new expression pedal which is halfway to the price of an ME50 ish (not many exp. pedals for sale here unfortunately), plus if i get a ME50B i'll have to sell the ME6B (wife bass politics). I've read mixed reviews of the synths on both models but in general the synths seems to be better on the ME6B. The ME50B has more options to use and seems a better tool for live. I intend on mixing the synth sounds with my main bass sound via something similar to a Boss LS2 and controlling the synth via a expression pedal and also a seperate volume pedal that i have. I play mainly dub reggae and a bit of prog; the reggae that i am jamming at the moment is mainly electronic and has modern uk roots dance vibe, similar to this vibe ish: (i think this is played synth and seperate bass but would like to try similar live) Any opinions ?
4. Pm'd
5. Just been looking at these too: http://www.bargeconcepts.com/vbjr.html & http://www.xotic.us/effects/x_blender/ - look interesting. I've also got a guy offering to build an A/B thats works both on/off or A or B unlike my Behringer pedal and then a Y box to put my signal from my effects to mix with my bypass clean bass sound then to the amp, £73 i think is what he said.
6.
This could be done with the Morley Blender - a mixable effects loop, controlled by an expression pedal. Youc an go from 100% dry to 100% wet (and everything in between) to taste and switch on the fly by using your foot. Pretty cool, huh? http://www.morleypedals.com/dfxb.html Hope that's of some help. Otherwise you could hit up sfx, he's done a lot of custom work for members on this forum and has many happy customers!
That looks an interesting pedal that may do what i need. My amp is at our studio at the mo so i am unable to try this (silly Q coming) - when using the effects send and return does the main signal to the bass amp remain on or does it automatically switch off? I'm using a Orange Terror Bass amp.
7.
So you want to able to switch between clean bass, effected bass and a blend of the two?
Yeah that sounds about right
8. I could with some advice if poss folks -i don't normally do effects until now. I want to have one clean bass guitar signal going direct to my amp and also a signal going to my effects unit ...basically a mix between straight clean signal to my amp and and one going to the effects - both being able to be played together or solo'd. I've got this this Behringer pedal that i haven't tried out yet, namely a AB200 A/B switch, not sure if this i going to allow me to do this or do i needa bypass thingy - how do they work? As i say i want to be able to switch my effects in and out whilst still playing a clean signal direct to my bass amp...ideally the clean signal will be switchable also so that i can run just the effects signal if needs be. Does this make any sense? i can be a bit dumb at explaining myself
9. I'm not sure if this is what i'm trying to do, i don't normally do effects until now. I want to have one bass guitar signal in, then going to my effects unit and i want a seperate a clean signal direct to the amp that bypasses the effects entirely...basically a mix between straight clean signal to my amp and and one going to the effects. I've got this this Behringer pedal that i haven't tried out yet, namely a AB200 A/B switch, not sure if this i going to allow me to do this? As i say i want to be able to switch my effects in and out whilst still maintiaining a clean signal direct to my bass amp...ideally this will be switchable also so that i can run just the effects signal if needs be. Not sure if this is the same thing as yours, so if not...i'll cut and paste a new thread here....i'm quite confused although i'm sure its simple (but then so am i)
10.
Both Moog pedals are still available. The package weighs a bit more than 2 kgs. I am afraid shipping to the UK might be expensive: 27€/22£ http://www.pt.lu/portal/lang/en/Postes/pid/257
ah ok didn't notice the shipping bit, thanks for getting back though. Easier for me to buy in uk i think - good luck with the sale
11. If the EP2 is still around i would be interested.
12. Nice one (or should i say raspek) for getting to Jamaica! Best advice i got was to try and relax behind the beat, smile and feel the vibe. Get a really good bass sound too, one that you can feel more than you can hear it may be worth learning a few classic riddims too as that is a big thing in Jamaican music. Classic riddims will make a good practice and a bit of good reggae knowledge - look on youtube for Stalag, Swing easy, Real Rock, Sleng Teng, Drifter, Cuss Cuss, Full Up (As in pass the kutchie/dutchie ), Queen of the minstrels, Revolution riddim, Promised land, One drop etc etc...there's thousands of riddims but jus learn a couple of the classics as mentioned, many a singer will put a version on the riddim-i play with 3-4 singers doing different vocal versions but with the same music, t'is most economical . Here's a band i play with doing a version on Queen of the Minstrels: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VYQEjQF4L0
13. Bought the most amazing Musicman ray off Mick, a diamond gentleman to deal with. Buyers can buy in confidence. Thanks Mick
14. How many channels can you record at once into Cubase?
15. ah, typical...i've just bought a Stingray & Tobias Pro 2 days ago or would have had this back somewhere in the equation...i've missed this funk bass!. Good to see the same inuslation tape that the owner before me had put on it too . All mods etc were done before my time but i do love that EMG set up, great tones. Good luck with the sale mate...this is a cracker and the bass that changed my opinion about Warwicks for ther better!
16. Every reason to buy a Stingray 4...booom (wish i could play like this !)
17. Nice one, yeah looks great with the black pickguard
18. It took about 6 weeks for this pickguard to arrive from the USA, in that time i've sold the bass so this is surplus to needs. Brand new from Jeanie pickguards, fits Korean made Skyline Duck Dunn only. It BWB 3 ply and looks to be very good quality. I've just pulled this picture off the net to give you an idea, better than the white pickguard in my opinion. £30 posted seems a good deal.
19. In no particular order: Roly Wynn (From early Ozric Tentacles) Mike Howlett (Gong) Aston Familyman Barret (The Wailers) Bootsy Collins Jaco Pastorius
20. Measured with a plastic vernier ruler - the heal is 63mm and height before the fret board at the heal is 22mm. If need anything else let me know.
21.
I have to say that the Lakland JO5 is one of the basses I would really love to own again in the future. Absolutely fantastic. Have a free bump, sir!
I nearly recently traded my JO5 for a Ray...Sooooo glad i didn't...this is definitely one of basses i know i'd miss big time if it was gone - great basses. Have a bumper.
