1. This baby is SOLD and going abroad
2.
The B-string on a Joe Osbourne 5-string is a thing of true beauty. If you're tired of flobbadob low B's, then you really should try this.
Yes too right, i've had a lot of flappy B's and this baby is balanced across the strings so well. I'm gonna miss this bass a lot i know it .
3. SOLD I hardly play 5 string these days so its time to part with this old friend and raise a bit of dosh. It really is a superb jazz bass, the Lindy Fralins sing, Lakland quality, low action, string through body etc etc ....enough said really.
4. I've pretty much decided i'm gonna sell my JO5 if your interested Andy and you sell you Fender jazz, i'm cutting back on gear and hardly play 5 now so i'm gonna get realsitic and pass it on. I'd thought give you first dibs if your interested mate before i go for the for sale section.
5. PM'd...i'll take it if its still available.
6. Get an MM Stingray Sub bass, usually under £400 second hand and come up here in B/C every so often. I got one in a recent trade and i have to be honest and say i am completely surprised with it and really loving it a lot.....all the Stingray sound that i wanted but perhaps not the smooth looks of the expensive ones. To my ears, that are probably a bit deaf these days, i thought the two Sterling rays that i tried a couple of months back sounded a bit thin whereas my Sub bass has the meat i've been looking for in a Stingray. The Sterling's rays do look cosmetically nice though. Just my subjective opinion of course. Look at this beaut: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=120652&hl=SUB
7. Jo5 with the Lindy Fralin pick ups but then i might be biased (Have of late had fleeting moments about selling/ or trading for a cheaper 5 as i hardly play 5 now if at all......but just not quite ready yet)
8. Still got my EW&F first album, funky as funk. Bad tune is an all time favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJoBYMrLt_8
9.
check out beardyman using the GT-8. >>to 28 mins or thereabouts for a hilarious demo.
Haha Awesomeness
10.
That would be fantasic, thanks. Gary, thnaks for the heads up, ill PM him over the weekend
PM'd
11. I've got the ye oldie Boss ME6B crap at most sounds but.......best bass synths i've ever played . I think Jamiroquai's Stuart Zender used to use one.
12. I've got a guy who does Mighty might necks with fitted Fender decals and finished, usually go for around £105-110. I'm going to buy another maple precision neck off him soon as the first one i purchased was an awesome neck and a lot like a MIJ P neck that i used to own, top quality indeed. I can PM you his email details if your interested.
13. I picked up an Ashdown Elec Blue with 12" speaker for £100 a few years back and its superb....not the smallest or lightest of amps but looks good & a great sound. Useful for small rehearsals/small gigs/recording too
14.
Great looking bass! Good luck with the sale/trade
Cheers man, yeah sure is special...got a potential trade in the pot too
15. I had this issue and found lowering the bass tone actually on the bass helped a lot.
16. Wow, i really cannot believe this has not sold yet Rich . Someone is seriously missing out on a great jazz here. I know this because this Jazz used to be mine and i spent 5 hours in Mansons in Exeter having tried loads of jazzes, MIA's, MIJ's etc before settling for this new mexican build jazz bass - a beautiful neck too. This one stood out by far and i could barely believe that this was a mex as it played so much better than my prejudices would believe. To me it felt better than the USA's i tried and i tried quite a few that day...and that was with the mex at stock-before the mod's. I paid over £400 then for a stock bass. With the Delano's, badass and the other mod's Rich has done this is a steal of bass...if i didn't have such a great playing jazz that i have now i would have this back in a shot....a buyer will very happy with this bass - have a bump Rich.
17.
watchin the linked jonas vid` it reminds me of how much i loved his playing but couldn`t cope with the gurning he used to do!! funny as hell. i notice he doesnt do it any more. awesome player and a rare lovely bass. cool
Haha yeah i know what you mean about the gurning - amazing playing skills though I may eventually consider a cash sale if something comes along that i like but i haven't had chance to look through the for sale section at the mo. Also i'm not 100% sure what i want to replace it with yet......maybe a P, Jazz, Warwick or something else quirky - may consider a cheaper bass or a lightweight cab plus some cash too. Thanks for the nice comments, it is indeed a very cool bass......especially for those solo players i should imagine.
18.
Price please.
Just looking at trades for now as stated
19. 25 yrs old (ish) Jonas Hellborg Sounds of Sweden bass, Passive, loads of groove kudos, plays beautiful and a great range of tones through the Shadow pick ups - see video below. I think Jonas played Wals a lot therefore maybe some Wal influence in this bass...then again maybe its nothing like a Wal. Either way this truly is a great bass and is wasted on a simple 3-4 note reggae playing geeza like moi despite it probably being the best sounding bass i've played in a while......it also has 27 frets and to be honest i don't think i've hardly ever gone past the 10th fret - i'm too lazy to practice too . This bass is clearly more suitable to a jazzer/fusion/funky/ super talented type. Here is a funky ass funk Jonas super talented virtuoso playing the same type of bass but black : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oh_Z1kt5iR4 I'm led to believe that mine is very rare being a natural colour unlike the black one in the vid. Info/ geek spec on the bass here from a previous seller http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=hellborg & some pics. More pictures here: https://picasaweb.google.com/Mr.LeeStone/Jo...140977875105794 Trades, well looking for something like a good P bass or a Warwick of some description....4's or 5's - a five jazz possibly or w.h.y. Quite happy to keep this quirky bass if nothing suitable comes up but would rather it go to someone who will do it justice and play them 27 frets....this bass needs playing Happy to do postage or come and play for yourself. Plymouth based.
20. I'm using a Boss LS-2, i have a Boss multi FX ME-6 on the separate loop and blend both the bass sound and a synth sound from the multi fx for that phat Mad Professor dubsynth sound. Just for extra effect i use a wah back just before the return on the LS2 and control the filter of the synth...bloody phat and great techno bass sounds too but the great thing with the LS is that you can set the level of bass to effected bass sound so i can maintain the phat natural dub bass sound. Really rate the LS-2 for its price.
21. Necks for sale http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=129423 Defo +1 for Mighty might, had a great P neck from them.
