Do you mean the Bass Terror? The Tiny Terror is the 15-watt all-valve amp. Bass terror is the one with the class D power section 500w. I have one, they are awesome. Funnily enough I've seen a couple people here recently trying to swap them for littlemarks.
Ah yeah, nice one...i'm a dumb ass sometimes I'm indeed looking for a Bass terror. -

+1 for the CV's, I owned a VM jazz and it looked nice, but in my opinion it didn't play aswell as the CV jazz's do. Have you tried a CV 51p (The blue one) - i've got one of these and it is amazing.

If i need to use my full rig, which is rare, i use two SVT 4x10 HLF cabs, it is insanely dub heavy (as well as physically) and no need for a fan to cool me on stage with the amount of air this setup shifts . However i have only used the full rig 3-4 times in the last year - i find one 4x10 is more than often enough for pubs, clubs and most festivals. I use the 4x10's on seperate channels of the amp - it is cookin' loud...but perfectly right for my 3 note sound system style bass belly pumpin vibe - i like to feel it too

I've been really happy with D'addrio chromes found them much better than Elites & Rotosounds but that is all i have tried to date http://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/...45-100-Long/E79
hi guys, thinking about buying a 4 pro and was wondering what u lot recon the 2nd hand value of one of these is? also iveheard that you cant replace that speakon cable if u loose it and that its the oneway to bridge it to full power? is that true? cheers guys
Hi, Not sure really on the 2nd values however these are good deals with a warranty: http://www.whybuynew.co.uk/Ampeg-SVT4PRO-B...r-Amp-Head.html Great versatile amps, weigh a ton & a half, not sure they're as loud as Ampeg claim but the sound is totally worth it for a good warm Ampeg sound - i love mine. I also made my own Ampeg bridge cable up - see here (half way in) http://www.ampeg.com/faq.html Good luck
See if this is still for sale: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...=tokai+fretless I had serious GAS for that when it was posted! I wouldn't worry about lined/unlined, it's not really any more difficult in the lower registers and an unlined bass looks so much nicer!
Ah cheers for that, i've PM'd matey about the bass. -
I've got Lindy Fralins in my Lakland 5 er...awesome tone.
man, i could have sold you back your old one! but it went to some jazz player who was going to give it to overwater to work on.
Yes mate, i knew soon as i parted with that one i'd miss it, but during that particular time it never got played for years and sod law says that now i will be needing a fretless for some band stuff. Still i do like a change every so often, just hoping i get the tone as well as that Aria did....i doubt it though -
I would simply get a good used J bass (Tokai, Squier etc) and de-fret it. Maybe coat the fingerboard if you want the real Jaco tone (but you don't have to). An ebony fingerboard is a step up for a fretless, but not strictly necessary. You'll get a better deal and a wider choice if you buy used.
Yeah good idea, but how do i do a de-fret? Or is it a luthier job, in which case is it expensive? -
I'm in the market for a fretless at the mo and nothing seems to be coming up second hand, although i will wait out for a bit. Played a Squire VM Jazz fretless last week and it was really nice to play but i have also read good things about the Vintage Icon V96 relic fretless Jazz bass. Apart from the coolish relic looks of the Vintage it has Wilkinson hardware which is apealing to me. Have checked vids for both on youtube and both are impressive. I am also prefering a lined fretless as i am most definitely on 'L' plates in fretless territory. Vintage :- May wait out though to see if i can get a cheap Fender fretless or Tokai or similar. What should i do?

After spending around 4 hours trying music shops in Exeter yesterday i eneded up walking away with a MIM jazz for £400. Never really rated MIMs but found one that played sweet as and i couldn't ignore it....definitely worth a try of some of the new MIM's however quality seems to vary as a couple of others i played didn't really do much for me. I also played a rough MIJ which i thought was never possible - think it must have been a bit of a dud. The Squire CV's are nice too but the MIM i got creamed it surprisingly

Just seen this thread. Yeah i recently sold my SX bass having been told it was short scale, however i'm clueless about this and have been rightly informed by Derren that it is indeed a 34" P bass so i refunded him as it was not what he was after. It's on en route back to me now - soooo if anyone is interested in a sale here's the link: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=sx+bass However i am seriously considering keeping it because i have missed it whilst it was on a little holiday...so if you want it get in quick before i change my mind haha

what was the first number you gigged on a bass ?
Raslee replied to essexbasscat's topic in General Discussion
I was a late starter on bass but the first band that i played with, Beyond Infinity, did covers and awful originals, with covers being Deep Blues 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' & 'Zombie' by the Cranberries oh and that 4 non blondes track - think it was called 'Whats going on'. Glad to say i was poached 6 months later after several gigs and began an apprenticeship in mothership style funk.....and never looked back-until now !
