4. I'm finding on my mac that i have to watch most of it to enable it to download, if you save to early it creates just a small file of what is download so far - anyhow i'm diggin watching it-great bassin!!!. (ooohh poo my secrets out that i like a bit of funk & Jamiroquai)
5. Hi Sean, The bass came through relatively unscathed, perhaps a few scratches maybe, but then i've never been into anything to shiny (Free relic service peeps). I guess you have learned your lesson from the other comments so i wont go on too much. For advice though, what i usually do is ask a local music shop if they have any left over cardboard boxes for packing which tend to be ideal for postage. I also pack the bass in bubble wrap (or should i say Mrs Rasta does this who is legendary for her packing) i get this cheaply from Tesco's. Pack out box with any old crap you can find, old newspapers etc.....and voila generally ok to post but you can never be 100% certain that things will not get damaged So all in all i'm happy with bass, plays very nice actually :brow: -read some good reviews about the SX Precision and it has lived up to my expectation. I feel i had a good deal at the price you sold....bloody heavy beast though! Anyhow keep your pecker up mate, you learned the hard way but now you know a bit about packing. Also just to add its worth getting insurance when posting so that the damage should not cost you...this can be done at the Post Office or via Courier service. I do commend Seans good communication through out and i am happy he is a basser and not a scammer....good beans! All the best, Lee

Heres a new tune for my jah friends - Turn the sound system up!!! - One love
8. Is this the bass or guitar version?
9. Is the SWX P still available then? If so i'll take it.
10. +1 on Brown paper bag!
11. B*ll*x...i missed that one....and i was after one of these!
12. Er...i'd say Stir It Up - Marley , Whitelines - Grandmaster flash, Walking on the moon - Police, Give it away - Chili's (Good for jumpin up and down), So What - Miles Davis, With or without you - U2 and finally the Addams Family theme tune.....all pretty easy.
13. I had a really good gig at the weekend playing improvised reggae. We played classic repetitive riddims ,which as a reggae bassist i knew, and let horn players and vocals do there own thing-we even had someone on melodica too. We eneded up as an 9 piece with a packed dancefloor by the end of the night and been asked back to play again at what is a bit of an up market cool venue. Crazy as we also got paid the same as my reggae covers band that performs at the same venue... for lots of less effort, no practice, great fun, lots of spontaneity and being reggae the best bits was where you could drop out listen to the others and drink your beer and come back in again. Improvisation is a winning formula loosely based on some ideas and i am a total convert
14. ah bugger real shame its not 8ohm i would have been interested!
15.
Got a 15inch trace elliot brand new speaker 8 ohm witch i would swap but i live in lancashire.
Can you get over to Lincolnshire? I'm there this coming weekend. Any pics?
16. Hi, width is 2ft and about another inch. Was hoping for something a bit more powerful than 100W but will give it some good consideration. Do you have some pics?
17. ah, i did see some one mention Torquay so thought you were local.
18. Alex a PM is obviously comin' your way -
19. Where are you based?
20. I must admit for recording i'm using my Ashdown Electric Blue 180 combo with a 12 inch, loving the sound i get from it DI'd. However I gigged my Ampeg SVT rig the weekend, nuff power and the right sound for me-although i swear the ampegs are not as loud as stated on the amps. I guess it depends what sound you like on stage-i like it to sound on stage as i'd hear it out front so very warm dubby phat but defined-it's surprising how much power you need to get that defined low end! People think its crazy asking why you need so much power? but us reggae players need speakers that push that low end without farting and the power to get it heard & felt....it's a very different science/art compared to many other genres getting 'the reggae sound' - and then there is technique but thats another thread.....
21. Anybody wanna swap for 8ohm 15" speaker. cab...would consider just the speaker also as long as it is 8 ohms!
22.
I used to just dislike it but now I am starting to really hate that f***ing goofy American ska sound. If I ever bump into Reel Big Fish I will punch each of them in the face.
+1 - Trojan, Studio 1 etc = Ska - real ska rude bwoy!!! - 'The amount of bands i gwan see at a festi billed as ska band, i see dem, dem na ska' (Spoken as if Lloyd Brevett was beside me!)
