Of my favourite half-dozen music pubs that I was playing just FIVE YEARS ago, only one is still in business and still putting on music. One hangs on to existence as a non-music pub courtesy of it being a listed building. Three are now (or soon to be) blocks of luxury flats. That's London property prices for you.

Can you define "small" - how many keys are you aiming for? What's your budget? If you're not looking for a Nord or something, then the Roland VR-09 is remarkably versatile, and not too heavy.

I spent ages trying to achieve sonic perfection by playing cassette tapes using just valves. Didn't work. The valves kept melting the tape before I could hear anything.
