  1. Buy this immediately and then get the gold hardware. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Japan-PB70-70-BLK-Made-in-Japan/183049189614?hash=item2a9e94f8ee:g:7ecAAOSwDVtacy8I
  2. oh, p.s. if you are using the Micro Di, come out of the preamp out on your amp and send the DI to FOH. If you are using a preamp pedal then have that create all your gritty sounds and send that to FOH, don't use the DI on the amp (which I suppose could then be left with a clean sound..) The latter not being the cheapest option and would have you replicating gear. So I'm going with the Di route. Also check out the Mooer Radar pedal which is getting some great reviews at the moment.
  3. The brand new Darkglass Omega Ultra allows you to install an IR in it's signal path. You could send that direct to PA. Or, if you want to save a few pennies and are on a serious budget, I often use a Fender re-badged Mooer Micro DI which is a DI box that has a speaker emulator on board. The emulator is supposed to be a 4x12 but the good news is the low end roll off wound upset most bassists at all.
  4. Thank you so much indeed! The @Bergantino Audio HDN212 is a superb cabinet. For reference everybody, here's the article in question with the video: https://www.guitarinteractivemagazine.com/issues/issue-45/reviews/bergantino-audio-b-amp-and-hdn112-cabinet/

    New Tech21 Q\Strip.

Thank you - I really do want one of my own too actually!
  6. You'll be able to work out what off the shelf D'Addario strings to use at that tuning with their very helpful http://stringtensionpro.com app. You'll be able to balance up the tension and tweak it to your preferred feel. This is of course working on the assumption you are on parallel frets, as you may come unstuck if you have a 37" scale length. Then, in that case, Si's suggestion to talk to Newtone is highly recommended. They actually made me a 145 gauge string for a 34" scale bass that maintained tension down to F# which was quite awesome. However, a string with more mass made for the tuning will sound better. I.e., I'm just using up the last of my 183's for my F#.
  7. Is there a good link out there regarding the differences to compare as I'm not familiar with RCF at all really.
  8. Whilst I'm here, I find this to be an idea solution
  9. A friend of a friend makes custom knobs for instruments: http://www.endlessknobbing.com
  10. I think this is a configuration that I would be interested in - but that's only based on the fact that I have tried the Mackie 8" version which sounded great and I have reviewed the Q/Strip that I was blown away with. I expect these two together would be awesome, with the 12" driver instead. How have you been finding it so far?
  11. Yeah, I'd like to find a way to make that possible!
  12. I have to admit that my P bass here has a Dimarzio P pickup in it and I do have a Will Power in the cupboard that I had in another bass. Yeah, it certainly does sound massive! Best I get that back installed soon!
  13. I've only had the chance to try the BB Sheehan model and that, or at least the example I played, was very impressive in itself. Really want to get my hands on one of these too, as I think it'd be a superb 'P' to have about.
  14. Yup, same here. Great idea and folds away fairly easily!
  15. Awwww, one day!!.. I'd love one of these and it's the right colour, although I wish they'd make the 2's and 3's in Candy Apple Red. Best I get on and do my lottery numbers!!
  16. I meant to post a picture of the odd set in my packet that seemed to be more comfortable than the others pictured in my link. : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Comfortable-Silicone-Anti-Slip-Accessories-Eyeglass/dp/B00ZO9MFKK/ref=pd_sbs_60_11?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=GGZJ0RB57EYJXM0848DB They do dig a little after a couple of days use as I've not adjusted them properly but they do seem to help!

I came up with a great idea... it was too obvious! I've dropped Bryn and Lee a message over at Roqsolid!
  18. I adore the JBS basses. I have a pair of the active versions, an '87 and an '89. They really were some of the very best to come out of Fender Japan and I am so pleased to read you rescued this one
  19. Never made it as a wise man I couldn't cut it as A poor man stealing Tired of living like a blind man I'm sick of sight without A sense of feeling And this is how you remind me...

That's a really interesting idea actually. A wrap around rather than a case. I'm looking at my 'board' to see if I can shrink the surface area (the LT is mounted to it and currently measure in the region of 720mmx420mm

Diamond! I'll take a look, thanks! If this works out I'll pop this case up for sale.

Yes, mine too... I keep telling myself to stick with the LT... but, you know that pedal board I was talking about ha ha ha ha...
  23. My cool friend and trustworthy music outlet advertises on BassChat: https://www.bassbuddha.com/brands/bergantino/?utm_source=basschat.co.uk&utm_medium=banner&utm_campaign=bergantino&utm_content=728x90 - is a Bergantino distributor that will ship to the UK. Morten is a really top guy. In answer to the question I can tell you that the @Bergantino Audio B|Amp pairs with a whole host of amps and sounds great with them, though the onboard profiles mean that there's the extra magic that comes with selecting a Berg' cabinet to couple with the amp.

Helix LT would be too big for a laptop bag unfortunately, although a bag has been in my thoughts. What would be cool is one of those semi/flight hard foam cases that are used for guitars and keyboards but to the size of my pedal board. I think that would make a significant weight saving. The gigs we're going doesn't really require the need for a full touring flightcase. I wonder if there's anyone out there custom making those foam cases?

So a question related to the Helix LT.. I've invested in a superb flightcasse for my Helix, but I am finding that with my bad back, whilst it is all loaded up with my gear, it's proving a pain to move. If I can find a lightweight alternative system I'l sell the flight case off cheaply. My question is this.. what do I use instead?
