    Regarding Haircut 100. My on/off wife was into them big time and even sent Les the bass player and Nick a pair of underpants each. And she was always dissapointed she never got a reply. Strange woman. I always slagged her as I was a total heavy rock dude at the time. Fast forward a few years and I love fantastic day and love plus one. I am indeed a sad old man. Jez

    I`ve got a black P bass for sale/swap on gumtree the noo and I thought I would stick it on here and see if anything intresting turns up. It`s a Z8 serial number which I thinks makes it an 08 model, originally bought last year. It has tuners from a 57 Jap re-issue with the long keys and has a black scratchplate fitted. It has the nitro finish and is starting to wear nicley. There are some scratches on the back, not through to the wood, a couple of small dings on the front and a small mark on the headstock. It has been gigged and is a great bass, I just fancy something different. I`m looking for an Ibanez (especially an ATK) or a yamaha, 4 strings only, or WHY got? The cash value would be around £380 so I would be looking for something around that value. I would like to trade with someone within a reasonable distance of Paisley (next to Glesga!).     My VMJ has a Gotoh OEM black chrome bridge fitted and I think it looks better than a baddass. I have a ba on my P bass and I had one on a classic Jazz I owned and I never noticed a bit of differance! But mabye that`s down to my playing prowess lol. I prefer the look of the Gotoh as well. And a new baddass is about £75.     It`s a bit of a strange one. The 70`s Jazz bass has a bullet truss rod at the head and I can`t see one. The neck binding looks like a 70 reissue neck but the tuners are the vintage/Jap type with the long keys. And the reissue has a blank neck plate as the serial number is on the back of the head. Bit of a strange one. As was mentioned earlier, if you don`t know anything about guitars, why spend 300 quid on one? Also would you buy a Jazz from someone who states "Ive checked fender jass bass guitars on e bay". Jez

    What`s the deal with "they aren`t as good as Keith and John." Pino is one of the best bass players sround and Zak is a fantastic drummer. Moon was a vastly overated drummer. He is one of those guys who got better after he died. The performance was a bit dodgy but hey, it`s rock n roll!! Jez

    What I`d like to know is how you can be a Hawkwind tribute band and be a trio!! Tell him to stuff it. And the drummer if he`s wanting to go along with the guitarist. I would never let anyone tell me what to play, I can ba*ls it up on my own thank you. If you aren`t happy you should walk. It is supposed to fun after all. By the way, like the idea of the tea cosy. I have put stuff for sale on here as collect due to the fact I work all week and don`t have the time to post or the packaging materials to pack the stuff with. I also had a bad experiance a couple of years ago when stuff I sent went walkies: no end of hassle. I also advertise the stuff on gumtree and that`s where I sell most of my gear. I only put it on here to see if anyone local wants it and I like people to try before they buy. If you don`t want to collect the gear from the buyer, then don`t buy it. But I agree with Jon, stick the location in the heading. Jez

    You say in the post that you are happy with the sound that you get from your Jazz, so why change it? Some people change basses to find a tone that they are really happy with, which you seem to have found already. The L2000 is capable of doing both Jazz and P bass sounds and is a great bass in it`s own right. Beware though, the neck width can vary from 42mm to 44mm and the neck can be chunky especially compared to a jazz. It is a very versatile bass. Jez

    Ah Steve, you are finally seein sense!! Some people say that they have only one sound but in a live setting, I find that they cut through like nothing else. As for value about, £300 sounds about right for one in good nick and no issues but bear in mind that you can get one of the new ones, which are supposed to be excellent, from Soundslive mail order for £389.     I`ve got a set of Status flats on mine and they sound like....well flats! Bit dull but nice and fat and at about £19 a set worth a go. I prefer the tone I get with the flats to the D`arrios I had on the jazz before. You get them direct from their website. Jez

    Souns like a scam. A couple of months ago I was selling a bass on gumtree and got an e mail from someone saying that they were in Canada working but wanted to buy the bass for someone in Scotland. They wanted me to send em a paypal bill of some kind. Told em to fluck off. I reported them to Gumtree and they agreed. Scamming ba**ards!! Jez
