  1. Update. I now have a bass box (don`t ask!) so I can box it up if you arrange the shipping and any cover yourself. If you want to do this, I will knock £10 off the price to help with the cost of shipping.
  2. Exc @rushbo, just bought one of those random ones from Amazon.
  3. Up for sale only a Squier 50`s P bass in vgc. Weight is 9.1 lb`s, fitted with flat wound strings but can throw in a set of old rounds as well if you like, Fender bridge cover is included but hasn`t been fitted. Collection from Paisley or local meet up only. Ta
  4. Thank God that further down the article The Sun tells us who Paul McCartney is. I had no idea...
  5. The figures for those Alto speakers are nonsense. Will they be loud enough for your pub band? I would imagine so. I spent the last week going back and forward with all the 12 inch speakers that were in my budget and have bought a set of Yamaha DBR 12`s. There is so much info regarding the pros and cons of various makes but having used a lot of Yamaha kit in the past and the fact that you get a 4 year warranty, I went with those. Haven`t had the chance to use them with the band but I have used them in the house with music playing through them and they sound great. I would love a set to use as a hi fi. I don`t think you can go wrong with Yam, Alto, etc.
  6. The new ones look nice.

  8. And this is exactly where I am at the moment! Bought a Behringer mixer with 4 mic inputs and 4 stereo inputs, paired with 2 x 12 Behringer tops. But on the last big pub gig we did using their pa with Yamaha 12 inch DBR`s and a desk with loads of inputs, I ended up with 4 x vocals, drum kit and 2 guitars all through the pa and this is the way we are gonna go. So I`m looking at the 12 inch Alto TS 412`s or the pricier but better reviewed Yamaha DBR 12`s and a new mixing desk with plenty of inputs. Then put everything through the pa. It`s going to cost me a few bob but I reckon it`s the way to go. An expensive lesson.
  9. I recently bought a Boss wireless and I needed a larger board so it doesn`t get damaged hanging off the small board so got this one off of Amazon for £36. The cool thing is it has a cover on the bottom to store the power supply. Exc value for the money. Anyway I usually use the Sadowsky plugged into the ART tube amp into my RCF, I had the space for the Sansamp so stuck it on there if I fancy a change. The Beringher was cheap as chips and I was gonna spend a few bob on a better one but it does the job and I might not notice the difference anyway! Sorry for the dust.
  10. Same here, got a cable off them last week. That`s me buggered as they make great cables at decent prices. Still the man deserves to enjoy his retirement.
  11. In my experience if you buy from the big box shifters, Thomann, Andertons etc unless it is a quite expensive bass/guitar, the item will come in the factory sealed box so they don`t go near the set up. You do seem to have had a bit of bad luck though so hopefully it will get resolved soon.
  12. I would just like the chance to actually buy a G&L US or Tribute at the moment! They seem rather thin on the ground.
  13. Another option could be an EMG that comes with all the gubbins attached as below. A bit more expensive but I use it for gigging fitted in a Sterling Sub and it`s great. https://www.thomann.de/gb/emg_mmcs.htm
  14. Not exactly cheap https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/2015-fender-american-deluxe-dimension-bass-iv-hh-violin-burst-pre-owned-2/
  15. Sold Quent a bass and good guy to deal with. Thanks mate!
  16. I fancied getting a bass amp again so picked up a nice Ashdown ABM 500 15" combo. Took it down to the studio along with my RCF 715 and a/b them. And the RCF gave the ABM a damm good spanking. Whilst the ABM was well cranked, the RCF was barely running at halfway. We played MacSorley`s in Glasgow last Friday and I just used the RCF and it filled the room easily against a Marshall and Peavey valve amps . Just shows you, sometimes you shouldn`t go back!
  17. Final price drop. Now £110 for the bass and the Fender gig bag. Both are like new, been out the house once and cost £180+ together. I still have a box so you can arrange your own courier or you can collect from me.
  18. I went to buy something from them that was "in stock" which it was, in their Swedish Hub! But I have used them a few times and the fact that you can order stuff late on a Saturday to get it on Sunday is good for those impulse buys.
  19. That £250 bass has more shielding in the cavity than a G&L I paid £1350 for! Looks really nice and quite versatile.
  20. Naw, I`m pretty sure thats the new shape 24 fret job that no bugger seems to be buying as Andertons have dropped the prices about £200.
  21. You keep the one that long? Lightweight
  22. Now £110 for the bass collected or £125 for the bass and gig bag which cost £38 on it`s own. Both items VGC. Save me from those Gumtree wasters!! There is a new bass coming tomorrow so I will have a box that I can stick it in but you must arrange the courier. If you are going down that route, I would suggest taking the gig bag as well for protection.
  23. I was just watching an interview with the director on Norm`s rare guitars YT. Looks like a good watch.
  24. You`ll rip you tights!
