Is it me, or is the Classfieds slower than ever at the moment? Noticing a LOT of stuff hanging around for ages that would have been snapped up not so long ago...

Like an absolute idiot, I sold my Novation K Station a while back because I wasn't using it. Now, of course, I could really really do with it. Twerp. *slaps self*
And predictably, they're now selling for twice what I let mine go for.
*slaps self again*

In various locations across the country, railway workers are sacrificing their family Christmas time in order to perform vital upgrades to lines and infrastructure, improving efficiency and services to freight and travelling public alight. Spare a thought for these folks, up to their elbows in ballast and wiring and paperwork, as you tuck into your festive feast. I'll certainly be raising a glass to all my hardworking colleagues.👏🏻
And just in case anyone thinks I'm being sarky, no I'm 100% serious. I've done Xmas commissionings, and it's bloody hard work.

Sanity check - Musicman "sub" tuners, will any direct replacement be a fit for the string peg hole? I.E Wilkinson WJBL200
And where to get a black control plate from also......-
Not so sure about the Wilkinson tuners as they have a rather large mounting plate and the headstock is quite petite. The G tuner might bugger you up due to the way it sits, maybe.
The own brand one`s that Northwest Guitars sell are decent tuners and come in a choice of colours and r/h, l/h.

G&L Kiloton - not for me after all… ☹️

Hi all, I’m new to Basschat and looking forward to it!

Always funny to see a bass you sold back up for sale at twice what you sold it for, and being described as a "bargain" 😂

What would be a good preamp/modeller/driver/DI to go straight into a PA? Before everyone starts naming bespoke, top of the range items, please bear in mind that the budget is low. When I say low, I mean that I was looking at a Behringer BDI21, low.

Getting nervous about this fuel shortage/non-shortage. Whole band is supposed to be driving up to Scotland from London on Friday, returning Monday and really don't fancy running out halfway there...
-
I stay just outside of Glasgow and there is no fuel shortage round here that I know of, no big queues either.
It makes me wonder how there is a shortage of tanker drivers as those guys are some of the best paid in the industry. I remember a guy leaving BOC Gases (a well paid job itself) in 2011 to earn £45.000 driving a fuel tanker from Grangemouth.
And you can forget normal drivers jumping in at short notice. You need a ADR licence with tanker entitlement and lots of on the job training.

Just took delivery of a Ray34HH from PMT after a few issues with deliveries not showing up. Bass turns up today sans gig bag and with a missing tuner head (not present in the box). Apparently it came from the Mcr store. Also, the 'same value' compensation for the Sunday delivery that never happened is a bottle of polish that they sell for £6.49 (not the £9.99 I paid). Disappointed to say the least.

Sorry to bother you all, could I ask you to head to this link and subscribe to my YouTube channel?Expect good things soon!

It feels surrealistic: I have two gigs in one week next week. And one is in Belgium. And they're with an audience. And I can't wait.

Obviously before you posted a reply in the Huawei thread, did you not see some of the earlier posts where members are blatantly getting into politics which is not allowed on the forum. Please learn how to do your job as a Moderator properly. I have reported it but I thought you would have known better!

Had a low profile on here recently....Mum died on 27th June following a stroke and bleed on the brain.
Her suffering has come to an end.

Best sub-£100 bass effects pedal? Interested to know your thoughts!

Coming to the realisation that for every hobby I have, about 75% of my actual enjoyment comes from learning about the equipment and getting my nerd on

Do I buy an elf? Got no cab, but it's got a headphone hole and a DI
I've never ever had a bass amp.
-
That's really it then, no more music or bands for me. The vast majority of my gear is sold. I'm left with a bag of cables and one keeper bass (still have another for sale, possibly sold...). 10 years of effort trying to find a 'functioning' band and nothing to show for it. Very much feels I've wasted a lot of time.
-
I know how you feel. If we cant get a replacement singer for my main band, I reckon I will knock it on the head, sell most of my gear except for 1 bass and amp and take up painting! And to this end, I have today visited the shop called The Works and bought some acrylic paints, paper, brushes etc. I cant paint to save my life but I need to expand my horizons.
There are just too many numpties about in this music lark.

Hello, Neil Williams here, new to Basschat. Been playing since 1979, - early heroes Jim Lea of Slade, Jean Jacque Burnell of Stranglers, Suzi Quattro; then all manner of brilliant players - Stanley Clarke, Jaco,Victor Baily, Anthony Jackson, Abe Laboriel, James Jameson, Carol Kaye, Bootsy, Marcus Miller, Jack Bruce, Tony Levin, Chuck Rainey,Tal Wilkenfeld, Nathan East, Neil Murray, Jimmy Bain, John Paul Jones,Tina Weymouth, Chris Squire, Les Claypool, Billy Sheehan, Jimmy Haslip, Danny Thompson, Mo Foster .... the list is an endless upward spiral, but when it ends, it ends with the god on earth that is, of course - GEDDY LEE. Anyway, I play a '79 Precision, - I bought it in London in '81. I was after a Ricky 4001 a la Geddy, but the guy in the shop persuaded me to go for the Fender. He didn't have a 4001 in, so he had one sent over in a cab for me to try and compare. Good man, there's customer service innit. Anyway, - I've been using a Warwick CCL 250 combo for quite a while, and more recently a Trace Elliott GP7 with a slotted front, both with my little Aphex Bass Exciter/Preamp/DI Box thingy. They both sound great and are real work horses, but they're pretty weighty and I aint gettin any younger, so I've decided to take the plunge and go for a new Ashdown combo as replacement for them both - great sound, simple controls, loads of oomph and sooo light - its between the Original C210 300 Kickback, and the RM 500 T 210 Evo. The Warwick and Trace are up for sale, I'll put them up here first if anyone's interested. Any Ashdown users/ex users with any advice/thoughts. Would be most appreciated. Diolch/Thanks

While GuitarGuitar Glasgow has a decent selection, I am very excited to make a trip down to Bass Direct at the end of the month.

Wondering whether I should be annoyed that a bass I agreed to buy at the asking price and collect at the sellers earliest availability has been 'sold' to someone else without the buyer telling me......

Just thinking about the "Total Watts" rating on BC
Is that old watts, or new watts?
