1. Another bump Another trade interest would be a Genz Benz Streamliner 600 or 900...
2. It is a lovely bass indeed, but I have no need for it & am trying to free up some space! Bump, plus two possible trade interests: * Lakland Duck Dunn precision * Genz Benz Streamliner 600 or 900
3. An 'I have a small house now so need the space' type bump.
4. Bump, with a price drop to £1300. I'm loving the neck on a recently acquired Marcus Miller jazz, I think '70s style is more for me! Still interested in Precision-based trades. A Lakland Duck Dunn would be perfect...
5. One thing I like to do is keep lines simple to start with, then try and change them up as the song progresses by adding in fills or variations. It requires a decent drummer who wants to do the same! I usually change it up during the guitar solos, try and flow with the sound & feel they've got going on. Here's one video from a jam I go to where I start out just plodding along to Stop Messin' Around by Fleetwood Mac, but change up during the solos & end up with more of a walking line towards the end (via a VERY dodgy bass solo - I hate them too & can't do them, but it's always a laugh to try) There's plenty of videos on that channel if you fancy hunting around for ideas!
6.
Try these.... http://www.newmoonin...sical/index.php
A rough first quote of £43ish for a year, including unattended vehicle cover... If that covers gigs too, I'll be with them! Thanks for the link
7. Thanks for the responses guys! From them, I drew up a list of questions for the girlfriend to ask, one of which being about cover for paid gigs - they checked with the broker, and they wouldn't cover for that so they've said they won't cover it at all. Nevermind! I try to be very careful with my gear, especially in new venues or when loading/unloading. I try not to leave basses in the car unattended (I once took two hard cases in with me when I went for a meal with the other half!), I always carry them out last with me. As the gear is generally expensive though, I'd rather have cover - with my usual 2 basses, amp & cab gig setup I can quite easily be carting around £3ks worth of gear about - a lot to replace!
8. So this week I'm finally growing up & moving out of home and in with the girlfriend. She got a quote for insuring most of my gear (5 basses, an amp & cab) on top of her existing insurance at around £10 which was reasonable. This covers them outside of the house too, which was important to me. However they haven't asked for any specifics about the basses - serial numbers, year of manufacture, receipts or valuations - just my short description & rough valuation (i.e. Fender Jazz £1500, Fender Precision £1000 etc.). Is this normal? I don't want to go to make a claim and have problems. The insurance is with Legal & General, if that matters. Cheers
9. Try to attend more than just the one jam night if possible - attending one you can get stuck playing the same songs with the same musicians. I attend 2 jams a month, plus one or two others whenever I get the chance - the different musicians, styles & songs keeps me on my toes. There's some blues backing tracks available here without bass for messing with ideas: http://www.freejamtracks.com/79-jam-tracks-for-bass.html
10. That looks gorgeous - I have an '08 Precision & it is fantastic. £700 for one is a great price!
11. I live in Basingstoke, but am in London tonight! Grrr! I've put out a shout on Facebook though for you.
12.
If you are not in Basingstoke (watching the Jetsonics) but are in London , come and see us!
How did you know I was looking at this thread?!? I am actually in London this weekend with work - I may be meeting a friend & catching a band near where I'm staying (Angel), but if I can make it over I will!

Feedback for Conan *

Just completed a seamless trade with Conan & received a very well packed, absolutely beautiful Marcus Miller Jazz bass. Always quick & friendly comms throughout - a definite recommendation from me
14. Yup, it's an outstanding bass for the money - very light, extremely easy to play. The only reason I sold it was because I only really play my Precisions & needed to cut the collection down. Bump from me!
15. Bump
16. I've used http://www.freejamtracks.com/79-jam-tracks-for-bass.html quite a bit - 79 tracks covering blues, rock, funk & more - all free
17. I have a Barefaced Super Midget (latest Gen 3 model), and it is superb. It's stupidly small, stupidly light and shifts a stupid amount of air. I took it to a couple of jam nights where you get guitarists gradually turning their amps up all night, and it cut through the mix for the whole night without breaking a sweat from my RH750. I was going to get a second one so I could have a 2x12 setup with flexibility, but.... I don't think I need a second one!
18. It's a good job I've given my girlfriend the money to look after whilst we save up for a house, or I'd be living in that hard case. Absolutely beautiful!
19. According to the updated description, it's a kit you can purchase to modify & make an instrument: http://www.zoybar.net/
20. Bump!
