Up for the chop is my Japanese Fender '62-US Reissue. I bought this as a backup for my US Precision, but since then I've bought a Lakland which has taken over the CIJ's spot. As I'm looking at moving house some point next year, I need to thin the herd! The bass is about 4 years old. It's had a little bit of work done:

Pots have been changed to CTS, with wiring changed to cloth - to make it a re-issue internally as well as externally
Tuners have been replaced for reverse style Gotohs, again to be period correct (stock ones were normal)
I can't remember if the guy I bought it from (Bassman Steve on here) replaced the pickguard with one built by the The Bass Doc - I'll try and find that out. It's been played a lot before I took hold of it, so there's a few dings & scratches - I've tried to capture them all in the pics. There are some very light scratches on the front of the bass - pointed them out with the arrows. Also, two of the tuning pegs are slightly bent at the elephant ear part - this does not affect the ability to tune, or for the instrument to stay in tune. They could probably be bent back to straight, but it didn't bother me so I didn't bother with it! It's a lovely bass, and needs to be played... But it's just not with me I'm afraid It's currently strung with Rotosound Tru Bass black nylon strings, I can throw in a set of stainless roundwounds too - not used, but taken off another Japanese bass when it arrived. Link to the Fender Japan site: http://www.fenderjap...jp/pb62-us.html Some specs:

Body: Alder
Neck: Maple
Fretboard: Rosewood
Radius: 184R (No idea what that means!)
Frets: 20
Nut width: 42mm
Bridge: Spilal Vintage
Pickups: PB Vintage USA
Looking for [s]£575[/s] £525 + shipping. Comes with generic hard case that has been used once - Stealth bought it to go with the Lakland he sold, but I prefer soft cases! Any questions please ask! I've been doing some searching, but not found anything helpful - I was wondering if there any guides or advice for setting up an EUB (or just DB)? What sort of string height I should be looking at etc. - I know it's all down to preference, but just wondered if there was a reference point or something. I have a Stagg EUB, if that matters! Cheers

I have a USA Precision that I got from new in 2008. It's my main bass, it's absolutely fantastic - best out of the 10 basses I have. I paid £850 for it - I think £1k is still a fine price for it. A second hand one on here would be a great idea, you'd definitely get your moneys worth as they seem to go for around £750.
