  1. Have you contacted them and shown them pictures?
  2. I thought at first this was an issue with a bolt on (but not glued) style neck joint, which is found on many good quality acoustic guitars today. However, Maton say all their acoustics have a dovetail joint, and I'm not able to find any images of a Mason neck joint. Looking closely at the pictures, there appears to be an uneven separation of the heel at the bottom, as if a glued joint has split and left fragments stuck to the body. In a bolt on configuration, there would be no glue required. Therefore, I am inclined to suggest that the neck requires a reset. I'm basing what I am saying on extensive experience of dealing with neck resets on several Tacoma bolt on neck guitars, and obviously others may have something different to say. I had the great pleasure of unlimited access to Tommy Emanuel's famous Mouse guitar for several days, and it was absolutely wonderful, and beautifully made. This is not my experience of other Maton guitars.
  3. Why do I think of Ryan Reynolds every time I see Jack’s avatar?
  4. Brilliant! Thanks for looking that out. I’m going to tackle this tomorrow.
  5. That's a helluva rig. I'd feel manly standing in front of that, if it didn't blow me over like a twig. I had the combo, and it was monstrous. GLWTS.
  6. This is a fine, almost mint example of one of these basses. I believe there are not many of these about. I succumbed to the temptation a couple of years ago, but I have no real use for this lovely thing. I can only find one tiny ding, on the rear lower bout. Otherwise perfect. And shiny shiny gold, with a nice dark fingerboard, and matching headstock. It plays very nicely, with all the fretless jazz sounds one might expect. Plus, it looks amazing. Yes, I am shallow. So bite me. My travel scales say it weighs 4kg bang on, so quite light I think. Nut width is 38.6mm, last fret is 64.4mm. This is not a fretless conversion: it started life as a fretless in the factory. Side dots are on the fret positions. It comes with a decent Bass Collection padded bag, with shoulder straps etc. £350 to you, guvnor. I will post very reluctantly, at additional cost, or I will meet within a reasonable distance. Or you can collect. I'm sure I must have forgotten something, so ask me if you want more info.
  7. Just to be clear, I was not dissing the fotoflame finish. I have a four string version in fotoflame, and I love the look of it. That's why I keep coming back to look at this. I must be strong. I do not need another bass.
  8. BTW the top on these is fotoflame, not maple, although it looks brilliant.
  9. What a beautiful bass. I ogled that on Bass Direct for weeks, then picked up a white sparkle one. I am totally impressed with mine, and I bet yours is wonderful too. GLWTS.
