  1. Wow - beautiful - absolute work of art! GLWTS 👍🏻
  2. Just had a look at the video of Dylan’s band and - wow - super professional and great bass playing mate!! That P bass sounds fab. Someone is going to be very happy with it!! GLWTS
  3. Great price, great basses! Has to be one of the quickest sales on the forum !!!
  4. Saw the bassist for Celine Dion playing one of these (Sky Arts Channel) and wondered what it was, and now I know - sounded awesome. I do like a nice 5 string with tight string spacing, but already have 1 bass over my agreed quota !! Poor Bassman - think you'll have to re-list this under its proper name, although I suppose its handy to have it at the top of the thread all the time !
  5. Absolutely gorgeous and a bit of a steal imo ! GLWTS
  6. Great value for money this and a rare bass - if I hadn’t just bought a Precision I’d be all over this. GLWTS 👍🏻
  7. Couldn’t resist an excuse to post a pic of the NS5H2 - oh, and the case of course! One clip replaced where one failed !!
  8. Very nice indeed - agree the standard Spector hard case isn’t the best. Your new one looks quite similar to the plush ones that Fender (sorry to use that word here!!) use for their “deluxe” basses.
  9. Thanks Deedee that's really helpful - I'm based in Essex Covid level 3 !!
  10. Yes, thanks - excellent - so impressed with my fellow basschatter's knowledge on this !!
  11. Thanks for the comments and advice folks. Definitely wouldn’t be attempting any DIY adjustments here!!
  12. Certainly appears so, but I presume that can be adjusted! I didn’t want to fiddle with it while I was at my sisters!
  13. Adding a few photos for the Hofner aficionados out there! In the last one showing the mother of pearl detail to the neck heel, you can just see a little hole at about 11 O'Clock on the vertical which I assume is an old strap pin fix point.
  14. Hi guys, I was over at my sisters today, and she asked me to look at a bass that's been under the bed since my brother in law inherited it from his late father and asked me if I could use it. It looks to be a Hofner 500/3. I'm a 5 string electric bassist my self, so I said it would be silly for me to take it and hang it on the wall, but I'd try and find out a bit more about it. I've made some enquiries of Andy Baxter Bass concurrently via E Mail but wondered if anyone on here had experience of these instruments? Its definitely old (not necessarily genuine of course!) as my brother in law remembers his dad using it to practice in his bedroom decades ago (his dad played in a trio on the double bass). It comes in a tatty fitted hard case. See photos. Would welcome any information and advice about this instrument. Cheers David
  15. That’s seriously nice and a great price too! Shame for me it’s only 4 string 😂
  16. Nathan bought my US edition Fender Squier Contemporary. Lovely bloke to deal with, very straightforward, good comms etc. Hope you enjoy it mate.
  17. Sold to Nathan - thanks buddy - hope you enjoy it. Proceeds to Big Issue as promised in my ad.
  18. That's a great video mate, very nicely executed. TBH I don't think there is much to choose between the two basses in terms of tone etc, just that great Warwick sound! What interface were you using to record?
  19. No love for this great bargain bass?? - all proceeds to the Big Issue.............would be nice to see it go to a good home soon. Located in Essex. David
  20. Jon Shuker’s work is outstanding and the similar bass I have almost plays itself as well as being a thing of beauty. Shuckers are also super-reliable/noiseless for recording. This one looks outstanding and is at a great price from a great seller. if I wasn’t married I’d be on the phone to Harry now! GLWTS - someone is gonna get a bargain!
  21. Hi folks - So you have to cut and past the link into your browser. The pickups/controls are: "The Squier Contemporary Active Jazz Bass V HH delivers vibrant J Bass tones via a pair of ceramic humbucking pickups. Voiced for punchy lows and clear, articulate highs, these pickups offer ample output. And with the addition of active electronics, you've got the potential to shape your tone for any mix. Deviating from the traditional J Bass control set, the Contemporary Active Jazz Bass V HH features controls for master volume, pickup blend, master tone, and bass/treble boost."
  22. Price drop ****** NEW PRICE £350 ******* to clear some space - but please remember that ALL proceeds are going to the "Big Issue" towards the homeless during the pandemic. Reduced price excludes shipping. Hi Folks, First off, all sale proceeds are going to be donated to the Big Issue towards their work with the homeless (evidence will be provided). So here is a Squier Contemporary Jazz 5 string bass which I imported from USA last year. It is therefore probably unique in the UK as it was a "Sweetwater Special" (see link below) reflecting their massive buying power with Fender. It differs from the UK/European ones because it has: - All black hardware - Maple neck with lovely black block inlays - Satin black body with black pickguard So its a bit special, hence why I'm looking for £390 (in nearly new condition - no dings/scratches, just some hardly visible swirls on the pickguard) compared to the £370 odd for the much less nice UK/Europe version. I don't have a case, but do have the original box it came in, so it could be shipped (at cost), but I'd rather collection or socially-distanced meet up. (I am in London a couple of times a week if that helps). The only negative for some will be the weight at around 11lbs. Its 34" scale with a comfortable 18mm string spacing at the bridge. Build quality is top notch and right up there with the Fender American Deluxe Jazz I used to own. Its a lot of bass for the money, and looks killer ! Full spec here: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/JBassCAVHHMSB--squier-contemporary-active-jazz-bass-v-hh-sweetwater-exclusive-satin-black PM me if you have any questions. See my positive feedback in the feedback section. Dave
  23. Incoming NS5H2 from 2010. Looking forward to my first Spector Will hopefully arrive next week.
  24. That’s both amazing, and bonkers !!
  25. This is a tremendous price for what are beautiful and great sounding basses. Very distinctive “on stage” too. Wouldn’t be without mine !
