  1. Ha! Yes seated the Infinity is fine, although the side dots are almost invisible so with no fret inlays either, a bit of a nightmare in a darkened auditorium!! Marcoelwray - the Thumb "Dirty Blonde" Ltd Edition is 2006. I've seen them pop up very occasionally on Ebay Kleinanzeigen (which is actually where I got mine from!)..........before I sold it two years later!
  2. Ha ha - actually, there is a lot in what you say. As you can tell, I love a nice bit of birds-eye maple or poplar burl. This (nearly 10 years old) Infinity actually has quite a "dark" (almost sinister!) sound/tone when you get on to the E & B strings which I love and I've been doing some material for which it is perfect. However, I had to save up and sell alot of stuff to raise the cash, and no, it isn't worth the extra money over the Ltd Thumb which I should never have sold ! The other downside is the ergonomics because due to the strap positions and the 3 piece neck, you end up with a long stretch to the bottom frets, much more so than on the Thumb (as far as I can recall). So it is really a mix of a beautiful piece of art/craftsmanship and also an instrument (in that order), and for that reason you still need another bass for the more "regular" things, so my old Fender Jazz 5 does that.
  3. I know, I know, but I did end up with this (after selling a kidney! ).......
  4. Talking of nice looking Warwicks, why did I sell this ?? !!!!! What an idiot ! (Pics courtesy of the Bass Direct wesbite sold items !)
  5. Nice refinish job !
  6. Wow - beautiful. I've always wondered why Fender don't do more basses like this! GLWTS
  7. Hans Peter Wilfer owner of Warwick always signs the rear of the limited edition basses 😀
  8. Wow - always wanted one of these! Quite rare especially in 5 string. Not sure I can justify anothe bass to the Mrs though!! 😅
  9. Yes, very nice indeed. Suspect you will need to be a bit careful with the gloss finish though! Bet it looks awesome under stage lighting !!
  10. You are welcome Simone - it was a pleasure dealing with you.
  11. I sold my Phil Jones to Simone who is based in Italy, and it was a very pleasant transaction. Good communications throughout and the right funds sent ahead of despatch. Many thanks for your purchase Simone. Kind regards David
  12. I must say, that is hilarious ! I literally laughed my head off 😂
  13. Sold, with thanks to Simone in Italy - hope you enjoy it !
  14. Wow what a bargain !! Thank goodness its a 4 string !! 😅 GLWTS
  15. Still here - lovely little amp in super condition. £100 less than current retail price. Might consider near offers for collection in Essex or Central London.
  16. Yes I believe so, but I’ve never done that. Let me know if you want me to research that. Thanks
  17. Thanks for the comments guys! It is indeed a lovely bit of kit now surplus to needs. As Paul says, even looks nice among the hi-fi gear in the lounge 👍
  18. Oooh I say - that looks very nice !
  19. Having a bit of a clear out, and selling this immaculate condition Phil Jones Double Four (BG75) in black. Home use only, and complete with all the original packaging etc. Looking on the web, the cheapest you can get this is Bass Direct at £385 plus shipping, but most other places sell it for more than £400 (inc Thomann etc). You'll know that you can plug in your iPhone/iPod etc. plus you can use headphones if you want. It's a good little piece of kit. You'll see that lots of people say it works well in small live gig situations, but I've never done that (just use my Vanderkley 1x12 & TC RH for that!) so couldn't comment. YOURS FOR JUST £290 + shipping (I estimate £10 within UK) or you are very welcome to collect from me in Essex, or Central London. PM me with any queries.
  20. I don't recall signing the scratch-plate for you !! 😅 Lots of bass for the money GLWTS & have a bump on me !
  21. Ha ha - very amusing! I'm surprised this is still here at this price. I have a lovely Shuker myself and the standard of the craftsmanship is top notch - easily on a par with other "boutique" basses. Someone is surely going to get a bargain here.
  22. Hmm - not really my kind of music but that video is amazing and the bass playing impressive! GLWTS 👍
  23. Oh yes the back - sorry - birds eye maple high gloss antique tobacco stain. hard to tell the sound on s Phil Jones Double 4! I’ll know on Thursday at rehearsal! Yep I love a bit of Zebrano too !
  24. Not sure if I am in the right thread but here is my new (8 year old) arrival ! All working nicely except the treble control on the stacked bass/treble push/pull for split coil mode control rotates 360 degrees - hmmm! (And yes the Allen grub screw is tight)
